Have had mine for a week now, traded a Lexus IS 350 F Sport for it and I love the car, it has some features the Lexus had and some it didn’t at the same time the Lexus offered radar guided cruise and ventilated seats. But... but... this car blows it away in driving dynamics, better handling, acceleration, braking and even fuel economy. No regrets.

Great car, I don't see what the complaints are all about. With the M-Sport package it's much more fun than my X3 with the same engine, far more lively handling. And it's better equipped even with the same Premium package. Love it.

I read all the bad press on this car and didn't even consider it. I will admit that from a few angles, there are echoes of previous-gen Kia Forte, and the window line is similar to Chevy Malibu. However, it drives NOTHING like a Kia or Chevy Malibu, and I can guarantee this because I've worked for a dealership that sold Kias, and have driven used Malibus. The interior is laden with tech, and the car has a ton of detailed features. It has the very durable, solid feeling you'd get with any other BMW. Not chintzy, light doors like a Kia. I drove an X2 and X3 before ultimately buying this, as I'd originally set out to get a smaller SUV. But this was my husband's favorite, and this is just much, if not more fun, feels just as good quality, and had the most tech offerings of the choices.

I think all of the bad press is not on the side of people comparing it to a kia or something like that, but that it strays away from what people and journalists depict BMW to be as a “ultimate driving machine” performance brand. Objectively, it’s a very fine well built car.

@@Allcarnews, gotcha. I came from Hondas, so maybe for me, having FWD architecture and transverse mounted motor is no big deal. But I totally get why BMW purists would balk. Our other BMW is a 2020 Z4 M40i, which obviously is a whole other animal driving-wise. But the tech and features in both cars are actually pretty on par with each other, as well as the overall build quality and heft. And my lead foot can get tickets in even the slowest of cars, so the 228i GC has plenty of power for me. 😅

stop telling ppl you can get a BMW for 4K$ down and 3/4 hundred a month. That is impossible. The ONLY way you can get a BMW for 3/4 hundred a month is with excellent high 7s or an 8 hundred credit score. Unless you putting a heck of lot more than 4grand
