The Z is certainly not perfect, and keyboard warriors that drag this car through the mud for being old and dated do make a few good points, but several years from now I have a feeling that many of us are going to wish we still had new car purchase options like this 370z.

That just it, though. There is no compelling reason to buy one of these new when it's been pretty much the same car for almost a decade with only minor updates. Well, coming from my Uncle, who retired last year from Nissan of 42 years, he said Nissan has no plans to make another Z anytime soon. Sad, but I think its because Nissan knows they can't make another N/A Z and make money on that car. The knowledge of knowing a small displacement 4-cyl turbo vehicle today, with a simple tune and downpipe, would utterly destroy a N/A Z in speed, would make potential customers go elsewhere if they went N/A, even with a 4.0L engine. Torque sucks on them, and tuning potential sucks. But if they made their next Z as a turbo vehicle, then you have to make its stock power potential high enough to compete with cars of its class, which would make it a $50k+ car, and then would start to compete with their GTR when people start tuning the Z. So why would people aspire to buy the GTR at its ridiculous price, when they could get a Z for 1/3 of the cost, and almost be as fast? Doesn't make sense. So they are now stuck with "what to do", hence why no plans to make one. What I would like to see is a 3.0L-3.5L turbo Z. I mean did they not make a freaking 3.0L twin-turbo Z in the early 90's called the 300ZX????? My friend has a 1990 300ZX twin-turbo, and it feels just as fast, if not faster, than my other friends 350Z. I won't mention the 370Z because the 350Z has been proven to be barely faster, because its lighter. Anyways, my point is is What Happened To The Z??? It went from twin-turbo, to N/A, and less fast. Yeah, the 350Z is a lot more capable than the 300ZX, but in speed, its just not. Nissan needs to find a way to make the next Z fast, but with tuning potential WITHOUT having to put $8k+ into it, but also making it just as capable and sports-car like, like the 350Z and 370Z are.

I bought a magnetic black 2019 370Z 6MT with the sport package, for only a few thousand more than the base. The car is a total blast to drive, especially with the stiffer Hotchkis sway bars that I had installed. The only other sports car I would consider would be either a Porsche Carrera S or a Porsche Cayman GT4, although these cars are much more expensive than the Z. I agree that the gauge offerings could be improved. The digital clock should be removed from the 3 gauge cluster on top of the dash and be replaced with an analog oil pressure gauge. The led bars for the coolant temp and fuel quantity should be replaced with analog gauges. The car should have and additional oil cooler, as oil temps can get higher than they should in hot weather.

I at one point too had to make this decision between these two cars (and the Subaru WRX as well I was considering). When it came down to it, I chose this car because it its just more raw power and more what I'm looking for out of a sports car. I thought, if I'm gonna get a sports car I want to go all out. The BRZ / 86 cars are fantastic but something about it just feels like a sporty car, not a true sports car at least to me. So for me personally, although I do hate not having more seats and maybe more space and all that the 86 offers, I still am happy with my choice. What do I recommend? Well you're here watching the videos which is great, but why not just go drive them? Test drive both and see which one you want! One other tip I can give, really the best way to choose is to figure out what you want in a car. Do you want a car that'll throw you back in your seat and can give awesome pulls. This car is more in that department. If you want more raw power and a higher horsepower ceiling for tuning and more mods later on, I'd wager to say this car is better for that too. But if you want a car that's a bit more practical and just feels fun to drive, the 86 might also be the better choice. Really just drive both and see how you feel about it. Overall I'm super happy with my decision of choosing the 370z.

With suspension springs and forged wheels car handles well. These vqvhr engines as well as the previous vqhr engines which I also had break in at over 30k miles and they perform and sound better than when I purchased new. I Know its about wanting the newer car but to be honest with you joe id pick one of these up but from 2009 with the manual to get it cheap plus nothing much to worry about reliability wise, plentiful parts. Most likely for under 9Grand or so.

Has Nissan actually confirmed that this is the last year for the 370z? Nissan has not shown any indication that they are actually going to replace the 370z this year or anytime soon for that matter. The magazines are the ones saying this car is being replaced by a 400Z. Nissan is in so much financial trouble it wouldn’t make sense for them to release a new low volume sports car before adding a different more profitable vehicle. Do people think the 400Z is just going to magically appear out of nowhere ready for production? That never happens. It usually takes most of a year from when a company first shows a vehicle to when it is actually released to consumers. Nissan hasn’t said anything about a 370z replacement yet.

The only reason I can’t go for a 370z is the interior. Something you’ll see the majority of the time. Been deciding on a 370z and a 86. Thank you for the video!

FYI the Sports Package rolls in a decklid spoiler and Rays Forged 19" Wheels plus auto rev match on the manual so you do not need to go Nismo to get the spoiler. I hope they do not mess with the styling too much when they introduce the next Z car as the current styling has aged well IMO.
@Vision33r3 жыл бұрын
It's more of a muscle sports car and not a lightweight pure sports car. On a tight turn people usually end up in a ditch in the 370Z because they hit the gas pedal and not realize how much weight the car is and how poor the weight distribution.

The Nissan 370Z is closer to $40,000.00 in my hometown, about $10,000.00 more than the BRZ or 86, plus no back seat like the other two have could mean higher insurance costs as well. That is why I went with Toyota 86 Hakone Edition over the 370Z. I will however have to concede that the horsepower advantage of the 370Z is hard to beat.

I guess it depends on the trim as always.

Man I really wanted to like the 350/370Z. The styling is great and the power is fair... However this car lacks soul. I looked into these vs FRS/BRZ/86. Faster does not mean better. If you want fast coupe then the Z is a good option, if you want a raw sports car that you can grow with.... Get the 86. The 86 has SOUL it's one of the few cars left today that exists for driver enjoyment. The 86 platform uses fun, engaging, handling as its ingredients to create a tasty small plate of food... It's art. The Z takes power, style and comfort to make a buffet style meal that leaves you satisfied but not impressed. That being said, I still enjoy seeing Z's on the road and they will be loved for a long time.

I'm definitely a Nissan/Infiniti guy. I can vouch for the drivetrain. Pretty much bulletproof. This model is good as an entry level modding platform, although even I have to admit that the interior is really dated.

Honestly I doubt many people are cross-shopping this with a BRZ. It's probably more like a Mustang V6 they're looking at. The BRZ is much more high-strung and taxing to drive, IMO. Especially if you're 35 or older. It really depends what kind of commute you have. If it's mostly highway, no way would I buy a BRZ. That thing turns 4K RPM at only 85-86 mph.

I agree with you the Z32 is the sexiest car built when I was a high school kid which is why I have one in my garage. The 370 is a great car but an embarrassment being both the 40th and 50th anniversary edition for the Z. Buying one new is the dumbest thing you can do as a 10k loss is had the second you sign the paperwork. I am excited for a new Z35 with the VR30DDTT . How they will call it a 400Z goes against naming the Z car by liter since it’s creation. But what do I know we live in a world where the Supra is now a BMW.

Too bad it’s very antiquated and in need of updates in a major way . As an owner of a Q60 Red Sport I have to be honest , there’s nothing for me to buy from Nissan or Infiniti once I’m in the market again . I’m hoping that Nissan / Infiniti stop with the damn concept cars and start actually innovating their line up of vehicles so that people will actually want to buy them . Keep up the very honest reviews you do really informative and entertaining reviews, I also like a nice rear end 😈.

Horsepower per dollar, nothing bests a base model Nissan 370Z. 332 horsepower for an asking price of only $30,000? That's already a win.

so everyone is complaining on how old the interior is and how outdated it is, some of you even made the comment that its not even worth buying one cuz of its age, but tell me how many car enthusiast would die to buy old cars brand new? many of us wish we could still buy cars like the 3000gt vr6, rx7, 300zx, nsx, 2g eclipse gsx, 240sx, supra, or any skyline from the 90s brand new? people need to appreciate more cars like these, specially cars that are still reliable like the 370z. I respect how much love everyone has for cars like the gt86, new supra, Veloster N, Stinger ect. but most of them aren't as reliable as the 370 and for the price not even as powerful as the 370, lets hope the 400zx is a good as the 370z but just to let you know is starting in the low 40s for the price and doesn't come in manual as for what they have said so far.

You know an automobile is a winner when former owners years later, now wish they had never sold it. The 350/370Z will go down as one of the most iconic sportscars of the last 50 years. A profile that is as timeless now as it was then. It can be debated that the 370z's interior hasn't aged well when compared to the tablets on the dash jobbers of today but the Z makes no apologies that it doesn't have a shuddering steering wheel alongside eight "help me drive this thing" flashing warnings...turning its interior into a Vegas strip at night...each time a Bridgestone dares to touch a white line during a turn. The more time you're looking at illuminating arrows on your rearview mirror, the less time you're looking at the apex. This is a driver's car.

Seriously comparing the T86 & BRZ to the Nissan 370z. Way more potential and at top end the 370z will leave them for dead. 0-60 time is 5 sec to BRZ 6.8. I think interior is budget as mechanicals you are getting a superior vehicle.
