@guy proulx True on the account of Camry and Corolla models. Those vehicles sell in still astronomical numbers. Avalon, however, is a different story. This video is about the Avalon, after all. Avalon sales have essentially tanked. Not to mention that the car is simply too similar to the Lexus ES that the reasons to purchase the Avalon over it are almost negligible. I like the Avalon a lot but as with the Cressida before it, which was cancelled due to its own similarity to the Lexus line, fewer consumers are interested in cars these days, which is not helping the Avalons case.

You guys keep begging for more horsepower but yet want to pay for it. If they bumped it to 330hp and added 10k on the price its competing with Lexus territory, then you would be saying "Who is going to pay 50k for a Avalon". Toyota is smart they know what they're doing. Nowadays you barely can use all of that on the road unless you live in a old country town with only 2 cars on the road. Stop being horsepower junkies!

Avalon is known for its luxurious soft and quiet ride. Putting a TRD package on it without increasing the performance of the engine in fact has a negative effect on the car. Now you have a meaner looking, stiffer, bumpy and noisy car but without any performance gain. The question is why this package even exist for Avalon? They could at least put awd on it from the Lexus GS series. Toyota shouldn’t slap a TRD package on everything.

As a new owner of the Avalon TRD, I will say that I love the feel of driving a car again. After driving SUV's, CUV's, and trucks for the last twenty years, it is refreshing to drive a car that helps me remember that driving can be fun. As a family man, who has kids to tow around, it is nice to have a reliable sports sedan that is capable and functional at the same time. Do I wish that it had more HP? Yes. However, for the actual driving that I do, 301 HP is enough. Will I choose to tune the car in the future? Sure, why not.

2 pistons on brakes for the front. Like I said before, it would be nice to have a TRD aftermarket Supercharger or other mods, but they are going for dependability, durability, and reliability. It's expensive already, if Toyota felt they should put more horsepower for the TRD name, they would have, but IMHO, it's more than enough, unless you are going to drag race, which is kind of pointless. The Civic Type R has about the same horsepower, and so did the Buick GNX decades ago, with a turbo. This is bigger than I would want now, even more so than the Camry, but it's looks nicer than the Camry. But I would buy it, if I had the money, but the Rav4 TRD would probably be more practical for me. Red would be my last choice, and then the black, so I would prefer the Silver, and then white... I think this is well done as is. Especially with the JBL sound system with the CD player. I believe it still has one, better have, might be moved to the bottom like the new Lexus ES 300. Btw, are these for sale, now?

I like my 2019 Avalon Hybrid Limited, it does good with the 43 mpg. I get actual 41 mpg driving with my normal everyday driving. I am at about 9 months in with ownership on it and it has been good to me so far. I think it handles great the way it is. The Avalon is meant more for a quiet ride and a smooth overall experience. My only ripe is the headrest nearly has my head bent down so I have to have my seat at a gangster lean just to look straight. Toyota service has been great as well they stepped up their game. The Avalon is a really great car everyone, I spent $46,800 out the door fully loaded which was a good deal for the package I bought and I am pleased, just what I was looking for. Next step will be more into the EV world. Cheers!

The Avalon is like when you step into the pool, its like... one foot in: Lexus, foot out: it's a Camry in a suit (zonk). To separate it from Camry, it needs its own Engine. The thing is, Lexus always had success with the FWD ES. But you tell your friends, I own a Lexus vs. I Have a TRD AvaWHO cares? Yes? Theres a Rumor a New MR2 may be a reality. Okay I could be wrong but, I dont think people care about an Avalon... Yes, more horsepower and torque should be available through TRD as an aftermarket stage 1 and maybe stage 2, with maybe an added warranty package and notification of potential decrease in reliability, durability and longevity. Also, I am sure the aftermarket will make things available as time goes by. The grill is nice, and not as offensive as it would be like the other Lexus and Toyota ones with so much controversy. I think it looks nice, and the front license plate mount would tone it down. Under hood, a nicer engine cover, at least a more high tech carbon fiber like or techie look, and a strut tower brace for added rigidity and appearance. They should have TRD emblems on the front fenders, right side dashboard, or front doors, and the bottom of the steering wheel like you mentioned. On the Red Avalon and Camry TRD, the exterior emblems should be black. On the Camry, I would prefer the rear spoiler to be toned down, and on the Avalon, a little more styled... other than that, exterior styling is on point. The exhaust sound is perfect in tone and volume. Aggresive enough, and not excessive for this type of refined performance. Inside, ventilated seats would be nice, and like lots of cars over $40K, or less, should be standard equipment. It doesn't look like this has a CD player, not sure about the Camry. Like I mentioned previously, a nice new Lexus ES300 on display at the mall here had the centrr mounted A/C vents, and the CD player mounted below the A/C controls, but that was in the Camry shaped center area for the infotainment center. At that price and with the JBL system, you're being shortchanged without a CD player. Unless you find a new unused high quality CD changer like the Alpine ones years ago that you can integrate, the only other option is a portable CD player with the auxiliary audio input jack. But that cheapens the styling and cohesiveness of the tech. As much as I like the Avalon TRD, I would probably go with the Camry for a more practical size.
@RaitisRides5 жыл бұрын
I totally agree with you! Stay tuned because as soon as the get the Camry TRD in I will be featuring it on the channel.
@jjacob251015 жыл бұрын
@@RaitisRides Yeah, I saw another video, and forgot that the Camry TRD is based on the SE, not the XSE, a smart approach, like Honda's Civic Sports, to put good performance and appearance parts at an affordable price. The Camry TRD will be around $31K + with probably several option packages, meaning zi could get one, probably without the Sunroof and Navigation, but have the JBL Premium Audio, for less than a loaded XSE
