Many people don't know that Mercedes partnered with Tesla from 2013-2017 making an electric vehicle called the Mercedes Benz B-class with a Tesla Battery. I drive one of those limited production cars and I am excited to be the owner of a Mercedes EQS soon!

The Benz may seem more Luxurious, but if you actually compared stats, the Tesla is far and away better than this car. This car is at least 5 years behind Tesla Model S.

You can admit Teslas have build quality issues and others due to Musk’s cutting corners and rationalizing with LIDAR, without it being a hate thing. Tesla helped push things forward by competition but that doesn’t make them the best at everything. If you want experimental, cutting-edge cool features that work for the most part but you can’t rely on, and you’re responsible for any accidents by using them, get a Tesla. If you want something more refined, comfortable and safer, get a Mercedes.

So far, not a single Tesla has been able to match the EPA specs in their test, the best being still 2.9% below. So even the Model S Long Range Plus with its claimed 402 miles is unlikely to beat the EQS; the Model S Plaid managed 348 miles in the same test. No current Tesla beats the EQS in range.

I have an EQS 450+ and I have charged the car at home with my 16A Level 2 charger. With only 16A it was slow and took 10 hours for a 50% charge. At an Electrify America charger, I hit a peak of 176kw and the same 50% charge took only 22 minutes. Even with my slow charger, I can add over 200 miles of range with an overnight charge, so that works for me. It is interesting that the car does not include a 110v Level 1 charger that comes standard with most EVs.

I’ve test driven a model in Las Vegas a couple of weeks ago. To me, it feels very nice…but the interior part I disagree…i feel like the interior is just like any other luxury car like Lexus, Genesis, BMW, or like Ram truck. Glassy is the word to describe it. I prefer minimalism of Tesla or McLaren (both share same minimalist design of “vegan” hypoallergenic interior). But that is subjective - EV is all about range and integration of technology. MB has a very solid start.

JEEP has the passenger display in the GRAND CHEROKEE and the WAGONEER only they are doing it all for HALF THE DAMN COST. Heated/Ventilated/Massage seats, a 10" display and passenger display - as well as optional rear displays for the passengers. WHY PAY MORE?

I don't know why people lambast the look of the car so much. What is terrible is not having access to what's underneath the hood. If every anything has to be replaced or inspected or serviced, it's going to be a nightmare. Terrible engineering. Other than that I think the car is so smooth with an absolutely fabulous interior (as one would expect from Mercedes).

My Plaid Model S can do everything this car does plus go 0-60 in about 2 seconds. It has over the air software updates. It’s autonomous driving works on all streets including city streets. It automatically stops at stop signs and red lights when on autopilot. It has 400 miles of range. It has a charging network that is easier and better and more available than any other one in the world. This Mercedes is a beautiful car, but still at least 5 -10 years behind teslas. If anyone really does their homework and comparison to a Tesla, they would never buy any EV except for a Tesla. That’s a Simple fact.

I ordered a tesla as well, but i like this mercedes. If you value luxury more than sheer performance, this is a good car. And it will have level 3 autonomy as well... granted, Tesla autopilot will probably be much more capable, but it's still not bad.

While it is true that nobody knows if and when full FSD will be possible AND allowed, it's also true that Tesla is far far ahead of everybody else in the game. Seriously check videos of testers with the latest version. I understand that it's not ready yet for every situation, but it's already very impressive, and you wont find the same from *any* other car maker.

@@Pyriold and @Jury. Pyriord is right. I own several teslas with FSD. I have also driven other cars with their version. Tesla is way ahead. No one talks about the current use in the cities. I literally drive in FSD 90% of all of my drives. Whether I’m taking the kids to school or going on a long road trip. I constantly use it. I don’t even have the Beta version. But still amazing. It stops at red lights and stop signs. Follows traffic. You never have to worry about rear ending someone. The experience is so much safer and easier. Even if it never gets to level 5, (BTW Tesla never said they will remain level 2. That’s a lie). It is so much better than the competition because the competition only works on pre mapped highways. No city driving. Teslas current city FSD driving is way underrated and understated. I’ll bet most people don’t even know you can use the plain autopilot that every Tesla comes with in the city. It’s not extra money or anything. That version won’t stop at red lights, but will keep its lane and follow traffic. There is never any mention of that on any of the reviews.
