Great review, I own a 23 bolt euv it's been a fantastic little car so far no issues at all. I think it's a fantastic car for just commuting to work or around town local. But if you take a lot of long road trips this probably is not the vehicle for you unless you really enjoy sitting around at charging stations all day long.

I bought a Chevy Blot LT last week and it was indeed the lower price that let me to buying it. I've been really impressed with the car despite it being a base model with a couple of extras. The heated seats and steering wheel are the best.

I opted for the bolt euv lt redline with the heated front/passenger and steering wheels. It's amazing but what we both have is called drivers confidence package if I had done more research I would of done drivers convenience package. For 30k (effectively 23k with the rebate), it's a very enticing deal. The one thing I don't like is the brake lights. They should not be that low, drivers don't usually expect that. Gotta be careful to not get rear ended by a driver that's not paying complete attention.

We bought the exact same model in the video because it was in transit to the dealer and we could pick it on Jan 2nd 23. Price MSRP was $31,700 after all options $37,605 with destination charge , tax, Dealer's Optional Fee or Document Fee ($175 max allowed under NY law), Inspection Fee, Tire Recycle Fee, Registration Fee, minus NY Rebate $2000, and Minus GM Healthcare Pro $500 (ended Jan 3rd) the Total Purchase Price $$39,654.46! Subtract the Fed Tax Credit of $7500 and price is $32,1354.46. We also sold our 2016 Ford C-MAX SEL with 65,000 mi to Carvana for $15,000 so out of bank money was $17,154.46.
@lanceluna97812 жыл бұрын
How did you actually benefit from the $7,500 tax credit? Like how and when was it applied?
@chrismaxny40662 жыл бұрын
@@lanceluna9781 Easy on my 2023 Fed Taxes say my total tax liability is $7500 which is money going to the government the $7500 tax credit now zeros out my tax liability. This means I pay zero to the government and any money taken out of my paycheck over the year is now returned to me. So instead of my paying that money out in taxes it comes back to my bank account to replace $7500 I took out to pay for the car. Very simple example for clarity and of course 2023 taxes are filed in 2024 so the benefit happens in 2024. The main thing is you must have a tax liability equal to or greater than $7500 to get the full credit. If you only have a $6500 tax liability $1000 of the credit is lost because it can't be carried to the next tax year like a tax credit for a solar system.
@lanceluna97812 жыл бұрын
@@chrismaxny4066 so with my tax bill being significantly smaller than that, the net benefit to me wouldn't be that much?
@chrismaxny40662 жыл бұрын
@@lanceluna9781 Right if you don't have a tax liability of $7500 and it is significantly less say $1000 then the tax credit would reduce your bill to zero but $6500 of it would be lost.

The Bolt is a really solid choice for around town. Any reason they can’t increase the charging speed? Just cost cutting or maybe battery design?
@EverydayEV2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I wish I had an answer to this. It might be that it’s based on an aging platform that doesn’t allow for increased DC fast charging speeds. If GM increased it to at least 75kW or even 100kW, that would’ve made this an even better deal - Brandan
@hndit2u2 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that it was simple cost cutting. In another video (sorry, don't remember which) a GM engineer told the vlogger that the limiting factor is the cable from the charging port to the battery pack. With cost containment and GM's presumed desire to push people to the more expensive Blazer and other models debuting soon, I can understand them saving the $$ there.
@richardnedbalek19682 жыл бұрын
100 kW is the current minimally-acceptable fast charging rate, but soon it’ll be 125 or even 150, based on my understanding of the competition.

Do you notice a difference between the two models in terms of driving character? The EV is a bit quicker to 60mph on paper than the EUV- has that change been meaningful to you guys? Does the EUV’s longer wheelbase and length make it feel porkier in the corners or less snappy/dynamic to turn? Or are they fundamentally still the same car?
@EverydayEV Жыл бұрын
Hi CartilageHead, thanks for your comment! The EUV rides more like a “crossover” in that the suspension is more forgiving over bumps/potholes but you also feel the extra lean/body roll of the suspension when cornering (not a bad thing either). The EV is slightly stiffer and offers a “sportier” feel with a lot less body roll in the suspension, compared to the EUV. The EUV with its extra length allows the suspension/body to settle better over bigger bumps/potholes whereas the EV is a bit jolting at times on the larger bumps. They both feel the same 0-60 but you can definitely feel the added weight of the EUV when accelerating/cornering. Fundamentally they are very similar but Chevy did change the suspension feel of the EUV compared to the EV. Both are still a lot of fun to drive, but we think the EV offers a little more fun driving characteristics with its firmer suspension. We’ve also AutoCrossed our old 2019 Bolt EV and it was a blast! - Tyler

Important is to note that Super Cruise is only for 3 years. After that is a subscription monthly paid service: GM does not need to learn from Elon Musk how to rip customers for futuristic features but rather silently tries to outperform him. However the steering wheel with super cruise is thick, modern while without is thin resembling those from 60-ties. As other owners noted in some states it is not only extremely slow “fast charging” of the Bolt but also very expensive since the price scheme is per kWH plus per minute. For instance: EVGo in Kansas. However home charging on 240 V is vastly improved - the best in the business in the class of small EVs: 11 kW

lol. Don’t buy a $30k car, spend 2 or 3 times that. This car will require some patience for longer trips where charging will need to be done and there are a number of things that other cars do better but fully loaded, this thing is just over $31,000 after the federal tax credit so I’m not sure why you even mention the Bolt and Tesla in the same breath.
