According to the specs on the official Acura website the MDX type S has 355 HP and 354 lb-ft of torque while the RX 500h has 366HP and 406 lb-ft torque. The MDX on premium fuel is rated at 19 mpg overall while the Lexus 27. I like them both but the Lexus is obviously the better choice according to the numbers.
@johnspartan5515 Жыл бұрын
Yes, the Lexus does get better mpg, and performance, but we went with the Type S advance because of the 3rd row for when the grandkids visit, more cargo space, but still handles like a sports car and is fun to drive, and has everything we need. I do like this Lexus, just didn't fit our needs.

@novawolverine2 жыл бұрын
@@dude-yg9ez That's fine, but it's not clear to me *why* they did that, what they're optimizing for, and how it's better than alternatives. Raiti seemed to agree but we will see in a couple of years after people have lived with the car for a while and the honeymoon era is over. It's possible that with the electric setup, you get enough torque early to where more gears aren't as helpful. Based on the early reviews I've seen, it seems that even though this is an F-sport, they're not really trying to appeal to a crowd that will drive in a more spirited way and still really want to prioritize fuel efficiency.

If a vehicle didn't have a spare tire and I really wanted to own it, I would buy a non full size spare and just leave it in the trunk. Its not like most ppl need the space 100% of the time. I see the cargo area of most SUVs when I go for groceries and they are mostly empty.
@Mark-de4hj2 жыл бұрын
@@Flying-Fox19 SUVs do not have an abundance of space behind the rear seats. The space may be taller and able to accommodate bulkier items with the rear seats folded, but they are still limited by size, design and volume. Those that comes with a spare, usually has additional built-in space included. Most people who buy SUVs for their versatility/flexibility do not want to have a potentially 40-50lb spare taking up valuable cargo room and then having to haul it in and out as needed. I mean, when you see my "mostly empty" cargo area at the "grocery store", I am on my way over to the Home depo to pick up other items. Should I just ditch my spare there?? The 2019 and 2020 Sport Hybrid used the same 3.0L engine with Hybrid electric motors achieving the same MPGs of the Lexus RX 500.
