Current CX30 driver and wishing I had waited for the CX50 because I could use the space and IMHO it is a much nicer looking car. Either way, I am very impressed with Mazda from the sales experience to the service people and the very enjoyable driving experience. Mazda seems to really be doing things right lately!

I didn't like the sales experience and the dealerships, with the exception of the one by where I used to live, weren't particularly nice. If they had cut down on the cladding for the CX-30 it would've made a world of difference

One of my favourite designs for Mazda's lineup, I really like what they did with the new CX-90 with the turbo inline 6 with their new 8 speed. Also the Mi-Drive also has a hidden Tow Mode, but it only presents itself when a trailer is detected with the 4-pin/7-pin connector plugged in.

Did you notice Mazda put the timing chain in rear of motor like Audi? Engine out for timing chain, manifold etc, by facing the turbo backwards with compressor side facing the fire wall and liquid intercooler on the left side, will make it difficult to upgrade turbo and intercooler?

Manufacturers use soft carpet-like material for inner fender liners and under tray for sound deadening. The hard plastic is louder when encountering rocks and road debris. The softer material means they paid attention to attenuating road noise. It doesn’t mean they were being cheap.

Thanks for reviewing the CX-50; I hoped you would eventually get the opportunity. I've driven a couple while my CX-7 was in the shop, and this will be my next vehicle this summer. Initially, I was leaning towards the Meridian, but as I understand, there are a few differences, with one being the wheels and tires. Incidentally one loaner I drove had the Mazda roof rack and it's incredibly loud. I have Yakima on my current car and will be installing the same on the CX-50.

Great review and well done Mazda! The CX9 was always a homerun which made it hard to get excited about the Cx5. Having seen a few on the road this is a wonderful evolution. As an Outback 3.6 owner I would 100% test drive this before buying a Outback XT , especially given I know 100% I would have to put 2-3K into the Outback to get proper handling and grip...

Hi Sarah. Mazda has been working on upgrading its image to just below the “luxury” segment and I think they are doing a bang-up job. That interior looks rich and highly functional and little things like hood struts definitely denote upscale. Really impressed with the off-road given the tires. Excellent and entertaining review, as always. Thank you, Sarah. 👍👍👍

If you actually sat in the CX50 and CX5 like I have, you would realize the CX50 interior is actually a pretty big downgrade from the CX5. I could even list out the reasons why.
@matsudakodo
@matsudakodo Жыл бұрын
@@michaelp.3485it's basically the same as the CX-30 - I like the climate controls and console area better on this platform, but I feel the way they do door controls and handles is cheaper and less functional. Also I noticed that the seatbelt material is different. It's rougher and doesn't make for a smooth pull, and it's hard to grab because when you reach for it there is no small indentation for your hand to get behind it like there is on the CX-5. Little things like that. Also, get an Amazon seat cushion, a thinner memory foam one.

I help build this car in Huntsville, Alabama. I love how tactile the buttons and knobs are. The Bose system rocks. I'm sure with off-road tires, it could be more capable. I had thie cx50 as a loaner and it definitely drives like a car. I would be interested in getting this or the upcoming cx70 when it’s time to replace my mazda3. I’m definitely a mazda fan. I’ve owned 4 Honda’s but left them when my last car’s clear coat started peeling after two years and then Honda switched to cvt’s. Mazda’s are definitely better handling and just “nicer” overall. Test drive a Mazda if you are shopping for a car and you will see and feel the difference in comparison to a Toyota or Honda.

Keep the same format, just adding that data point would give the viewers more perspective with your gut reaction. Not that I’m sure how to accomplish this easily during a car review. Other idea, instead of needing more footage/cars, you could also do videos on comparisons. I’d love to hear your thoughts on how the Mazda CX50, Outback Wilderness, and a Cherokee Trail Hawk all stack up against each other. There are numerous other comparisons that might be fun too. Keep up the great vids either way.
