Is the 2024 Ford Mustang EcoBoost a better sports car VALUE than a Honda Civic Type R?

I have a 21 ecoboost the same color as this one. I love it! It’s plenty fast for me, I came from a 186hp Mazda 3 to a 310hp mustang! All it doesn’t have is that sweeet v8 sound but the gas makes up for it.

I mean, a 43k Ecoboost is basically a fully loaded version of that car. They start at around 33k, which is extremely reasonable in this day and age. I don't understand people who click off all the options boxes, and then complain about the price. It's the same logic as eating 5,000 calories a day and complaining about being fat.

Surprisingly I'm currently in Indonesia and their version of the Ecoboost is actually fully optioned with the drift brake, paddle shifters' 6 piston brembo's front 4 rear and the blind spot alarm side mirrors and even magna ride suspension 😮.

Got my 2024 eco premium on dec 2023. Absolutely love it! It turns heads, its has good torque and most of the time people drive under speed limit so its pretty quick (2.0- 2.2 second to reach speed limit 50km/h from a red light😉), Good on gas, still impressive exhaust sound

Bottom line: Ford Mustang Ecoboost is the baseline Mustang and then you can build your dreams from there onwards. Honda Civic Type R & Hyundai Elantra N is the essence of their best engineered work maxed out. In the end what matters Joe said it right 17:10 couldn't agree more! Balanced review 🎉

I had a fully spec'd out 16 EcoBoost, and even though it was high mileage when I bought it plus the problems I started having after 8 months of ownership, probably one of the best first cars I had. Gonna be upgrading to a GT in maybe a year or so. First V8!

Went to test drive an ecoboost premium 2 weeks ago. Went to unlock the car but couldn’t because the battery was dead because of what i assume was from it sitting for too long. After waiting a few days and coming back, the dealer had the car ready with a brand new battery. During the test drive the transmission seemed confused and clunky (maybe due to the recent dead battery?) and the instrument cluster froze on a couple occasions . The hvac controls really were poorly designed and the wireless charger was almost useless. I really did not enjoy the interior. The exterior was absolutely fantastic though. I also really loved the driving dynamics and pull of the ecoboost engine. It was one of few cars that really led me away from the “premium” trim. I’d much prefer the actual base model with the 19 inch wheels and active exhaust. Too much nonsense added to the car. It’s not an m3, it’s a mustang.

Was an old 65 red Mustang parked across the street from my house for a week. Guess it was broken down. So a couple friends and I decided to open the hood, since I never seen a 289. So I opened it. And voila, it was a six cylinder. My friend Said in its class it is still pretty fast. I think the Ecoboost would eat it and spit it out. That's one real strong 4 cylinder. I told my daughter about it and how it has nice power and looks. She's going to cut her stay in the Dominican Republic short and get one magenta molten red with those exact rims. Perfect car for her lifestyle.wish I was 22 again. No way I'll be able to get in and out of a Mustang. My new favorite car.

It’s true about the horsepower. I had ‘84 hurst/olds with a 307 V8. I think it had 182 hp. Today they get 300 hp out of a 4 cylinder

Wow. I spent most of the night researching performance cars last night and while laying in bed with everything off i literally said to myself ill look into the Ecoboost mustang tomorrow. Woke up checked KZbin and bam, first video i see is RRs reviewing a EB mustang.😮 Its a nice car however after owning 3 s550 GTs i dont think i could go down to a 4 turbo. Also im blown away with the price. Holy cow starting at 36k? A friend of mines gf bought a 19 for 22k. At least thats what they told me.

It looks really nice. I test drove two of them. Just didn't like how the motor and frame jerked on both when shifting into reverse. One had a big pool of water below after test drive. Sales guy said that was normal condensation from AC. Certainly possible. 😊 Anyway it's a nice ride with just enough kick.

Good Joe you are the best. I love your Gt350 centennial. Honestly the cheaper ecoboost mustang with forged pistons and rods bigger blower is very light at 3300 hundred lbs. That's about 1000lbs lighter then gt.

Great looking car! Really nice spec - the wheels and exhaust really help a lot. No Ecoboost hate here, although it's weird to think of it for Type R money. The Type R is the best of the best, collectible and rare and special. The Ecoboost is the "base" model all day long, of a Ford. It just seems expensive. Wish it came in a manual as well. Nice ride but just seems confused. High 20's base, low-mid 30's out the door, we'd be in business.

The Eco Boost is good. Just not given any respect in a Mustang. When it was in the Focus RS people loved it. I noticed while you were driving Joe looks to have a 3 button Home Link if I am not mistaken. Many cars do not have that as an option. Neighbor across the street from me has older Eco Boost Mustang and likes it and is younger guy. Thanks for sharing this one Joe. Too bad cannot get with the performance pack and 6 speed anymore.

My parents owned a 1969 Mustang Mach 1 and it was an awesome car. This echo boost is nice but not that impressive. The Type R and the Elantra N are more fun. I think, that they should have made a 6 speed manual transmission for this Echo boost, that would have made it more fun and apealing.

Rented one and drove about 5 hours cross country. Got like 36 miles a gallon, which was awesome, but in a mustang, it might be a crime against nature.

This is mislabeled sorta. This is specifically the Ecoboost Premium. I have an actual 24 Base Ecoboost. Its the on ghat costs MSRP 32k, no active exhaust, the console and dash are not one solid piece, its got a gab in between, and doesn't have some of the performance parts found in the premium version like the Brembo brakes unless you get the package with it. No wireless charging unless package is added or included. No electric seats, fully manual. No aluminum pedals. No subwoofer in the trunk. I didn't get a spare tire just a flat tire kit (I went full bare bones and got a deal on the car.)
