Is the 2025 BMW M340i REALLY Worth the Hype?

I test drove that exact M340i at Hendrick BMW in Charlotte and loved it! I put in a factory order for mine and can't wait for it to arrive. Earlier that day I test drove an Audi S3. The Audi was nice, but I liked the engine, transmission, interior and overall design better in the BMW. It was not even a close decision. Thanks for all the great video reviews and test drives!

The best car I ever owned so far. It's stupid fast and economic, despite the power output. The only cons that I found are the hard seats and it doesn't have something to hang the groceries in the trunk.

The Audi S5 seats are my favorite comfortable sporty seats in any car, and the S5 is definitely nice. I would lean S5 if luxury sporty cruising is more important and M340i if handling performance and customization possibilities is your cup of tea.

Completely different vehicles. The X3 is a nice suv, on the smaller side. 3 series is smaller too. But depends if want an suv or sedan.

Maybe I missed it but, does this have all season tires or maybe the all season run flats? Seems like everything im interested in purchasing has pain in the ass summer tires that I have to change out with the change of seasons.

You can spec the car with either 225/40/19 squared setup "All season" tires, or summer staggered 225/40/19 Front , 255/35-19 Rear. I opted for the summer staggered setup for the increased performance, and it also increased/unrestricted the max top speed from 130 to 155mph.

I feel that it isn’t worth it due to the cylinder deactivation from the 3rd update to the engine. It gives a slight bump in hp compared to the previous year but we’ll see how it compares long term.

The M240ix is lighter & more compact (better performance) while costing $8K less comparably spec'd. Unless you absolutely need the rear seats often, the 2 series is the way better deal. Also the G42 is available in fun colors like Thundernight.

It would be cool if the Alpina variants were available in the US. They make one with the exterior of the regular 3 series but the engine of the M3. Best of both worlds IMO cause you don't have to deal with the ugly M3 grill lol.

I liked my 2023 BMW M340i with the adaptive suspension, ZTK, premium, driving assistance pro package, etc., but I traded it in after a year for my current car a 2024 BMW M3 Competition xDrive. While the M340i is an excellent car the M3 is better in just about every way except that the road noise is a bit more noticeable in the M3 and of course gas mileage is better with the M340i. People complain about the M3 front end and I kind of understand that but in person the car is gorgeous and there's a reason for the big grill..... cooling. I will also say after driving BMWs exclusively for 25 years the M340i was the only car I bought where interior rattles/creaks were noticeable which was disappointing.

@@YookGears The M3 uses Merino leather versus Vernasca in the M340i and there's a big difference between the two types of leather. The seats, steering wheel, gear selector are just some of the differences between the M3 and M340. Also, final assembly for the M3 is in Germany where as the engine and transmission for the M340i are built in Germany or Austria (my old window sticker says that) and the final assembly for the M340i is a factory in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

Awesome engine and car overall, but it just annoys the hell out of me how car manufacturers cut corners to save money. Like they removed the map pockets on the back for the rear seats? They removed the leather stitched airbag cover on the M steering wheel. Little nit picky things, but its frustrating at this price point!

The interior color is called oyster. I have it on my 2021 m340i xdrive. It is has been 3 years and it is pretty easy to keep clean . Plus it is very elegant and and makes the cabin feel airy and lighter. Doesn't look like a every other BMW with black interior
