Dale just takes someone elses car, cannot name them for some suspicious reason, presses all the buttons to turn off VSC, says not allowed to drift, gets bored, falls asleep, and proceeds to drift with one hand. he needs his own TV show.

@@BTGDale Hi Dale you know a lot about turning cars for performance and there is a burning question that forums cannot help me. Have a BMW M340i Touring - next set of tyres will be 255-35-19 [factory] or 255-35-18 (just the wheels that i have they are both 8.5" wide). will going to the smaller tyres be more advantageous - eg better acceleration, better cornering?, better responsiveness?, lower rotating mass ... it can't be that simple surely?
@BTGDale2 жыл бұрын
@@doctor_who1depends on the weights of the wheels, and also the exact measured widths and heights of the tyre (specs don't always tell the whole truth) BUT as a rule of thumb, yes. Should work

I was really curios about that thematic for a while. Saw one at Best Motoring and that got me really thinking. Good base to start.

Toyota used to swap the mkIV super to a 4 cylinder for Japanese GT500 racing 🤷🏼♂️
@BTGDale2 жыл бұрын
That's correct. The GT500 class Super GT car was indeed a 4-cylinder... as was the Top Secret 200mph beast!
@Super-lucky-77772 жыл бұрын
Hmmm really Smokey's Original Top Secret Supra was a 4 pot.... interesting

@@Super-lucky-7777 thought the top secret 200 mph supra was an rb straight six from a nissan? And yes the toms supra was a 3sgte
@stefthepef2 жыл бұрын
I *do* need to learn how to do sweet drifts..............definitely elsewhere, ha. I'm also surprised how much I liked the 4-banger Supra when I got a short lap in it over here. I don't have any connections to THEE MYTHICAL SUPRA LEGEND or whatever it is in folks' brains that ruins this version for them for whatever reason. It was just a fun lil' car that looks neat and was comfortable inside, and you're right-it feels relatively light and balanced, even with my no-talent butt behind the wheel. Would hoon more. Want to hoon more. Really want to hoon the three-pedal version.

The mk4 Supra that win most of the racing series were not the the 3.0 but was fitted with 2.0 engine for better balance.

Dale what do you think, this 2.0 supra or a 2.0 basic cayman for a clubsport build,... ?
@BTGDale2 жыл бұрын
Do you like paying Porsche-Tax? If yes, you can make a faster car, easier, by taking the basic Cayman to Manthey. But it will be a big initial investment, and an MR platform that might be more intimidating, depending on skill levels.
@Ybeex2 жыл бұрын
@@BTGDale thanks for your answer. i was wondering about this mainly because the 2.0 caymans with a few km are already available at good prices that are partly on the same price level as an almost new supra. so my consideration is more whether a stock cayman or a modified supra is more fun. Have a nice day and thanks for the cool videos

So, Toyota should be doing all chassis tuning for BMW?
@BTGDale2 жыл бұрын
It does make me wonder about the internal differences between M and none-M BMW chassis dynamics, and whether there's much between the different teams. This is not an 'M' BMW, but it's close.
