i love these and usually make spicy tuna poke with them. just defrost, cube, add sriracha and sesame oil and it goes amazingly with rice and soy sauce

Brother I do this with Aldi's tuna steaks ALL THE TIME. I use Sriracha, mayo, soy sauce, some edamame, toss it all in a tupperware or ziploc, then throw it on some rice. Absolute 10/10 dinner

I don't think I've ever had like, "bad" sushi. I personally think all fish meat tastes amazing, as long as it's prepared correctly and isn't rotten. Obviously, some factors can play into this such as the practices of the farm. Though, most fish from the market just always tastes great. I've never tried to prepare my own raw fish, but these videos are making me want to do it ASAP because meal prepping has become very difficult with work for me lately.

www.fda.gov/media/164194/download Page 88/668 (Code 3-402 Freezing) goes over the temperatures and the next page covers the exemptions: 3-402.11 Parasite Destruction. (A) Except as specified in ¶ (B) of this section, before service or sale in READYTO-EAT form, raw, raw-marinated, partially cooked, or marinated-partially cooked FISH shall be: (1) Frozen and stored at a temperature of -20°C (-4°F) or below for a minimum of 168 hours (7 days) in a freezer; P (2) Frozen at -35°C (-31°F) or below until solid and stored at -35°C (-31°F) or below for a minimum of 15 hours; P or (3) Frozen at -35°C (-31°F) or below until solid and stored at -20°C (-4°F) or below for a minimum of 24 hours. P (B) Paragraph (A) of this section does not apply to: (1) Molluscan shellfish; (2) A scallop product consisting only of the shucked adductor muscle; (3) Tuna of the species Thunnus alalunga, Thunnus albacares (Yellowfin tuna), Thunnus atlanticus, Thunnus maccoyii (Bluefin tuna, Southern), Thunnus obesus (Bigeye tuna), or Thunnus thynnus (Bluefin tuna, Northern); or (4) Aquacultured fish, such as salmon, that: (a) If raised in open water, are raised in net-pens, or (b) Are raised in land-based operations such as ponds or tanks, and (c) Are fed formulated feed, such as pellets, that contains no live parasites infective to the aquacultured FISH. (5) FISH eggs that have been removed from the skein and rinsed. Not to go on a tangent, but this updated one from 2022 mentions scallops and fish roe as well for the exemption. I'm tempted to try these...

I'd put it C tier, it's good for poke and spicy tuna. It's a bit too fishy for sashimi and nigiri! The price ($7 per steak) is fantastic though
