from some angles of the 992 yeah I agree, the interior however is a big step up ..I feel like at some point in the future we'd look at the 992 as a 996 :)

991.2 Turbo S for me is definitely the sweet spot. Use the paddles and keep the revs high and the car sings.

💯 and another thing which I’ve learned with mine….is putting it in sports mode and opening the sunroof. It’s the best way to hear the turbos and blow off valves

100% the .2 S is the one. The updates matter (GT S/wheel, rear lamps and general styling tweeks) + no brake dust, more HP with larger turbo's and Apple play ++. Got one and it is mint, v low miles and a keeper

For me looks wise it´s the 991, but driving experience will forever be peak at the 997, since it´s the last analog one without all the fancy driver aid software.

992 "Sport Classic" -- not necessarily in the Turbo brand, but you get the 992 Turbo's engine with a manual box.

997.2 Turbo S for me. I like how small it feels compared to the 991 and prefer the way it looks, especially with the aggressive front bumper and the spoiler in its raised position. I've had it for 12 months now and I can't imagine ever selling it. Exactly as you say: "It never gets old", and 530bhp is more than enough for our UK country roads!

The manual wasn't there because Porsche was thinking that too many would burn up the clutch that they had at the time. At least that is what a Porsche guy told me in the day.

for me the stupid open vents at the front get me down. No protection for the condensers so you have to fix them when the air con breaks from stone damage. I put mesh in mine

I remember thinking back in 2019, "idk how Porsche will be able to top the 991.2" The 992 performs a little better, but doesnt look nearly as good inside or out.

I've driven a few generations on track, along with many other 911s. When I think Turbo, I think muted, disconnected, comfortable, dangerously fast, understated. This is a daily which is capable on track but for driving enjoyment it's not up there.

997 turbo feels tiny compared to the latest 911s. I own one and after collecting my car after a service, after being given a 992 as a courtesy car, I started laughing at how my 997 felt so small. I will never sell my 997.

Easy to make a very reliable and drivable 750hp with only bolt ons. Hard to knock the 992, but the 991 is the sweet spot.

The 992.1 is much better and biggest difference is steering and suspension leans towards GT product. 991 is more compliant and a better daily driver. 992.1 is just at the end of the road before the Hybrid era.
