Is The Base Porsche Taycan RWD All You Really Need?

Great review! I went into Porsche wanting to buy a 4S and test drove the RWD with a bigger battery and left the dealership with a RWD order. I Couldn't justify the 4S price premium for a few seconds that I won't use. The base is still crazy quick and I've gotten up to 330 miles of real world range. AWD is nice and the speed of upper trims would be welcomed in the suburbs or Europe but I live in a major US city so the RWD is perfect for me...zero regrets. That being said if Porsche offered a power update for free or at a fair price I wouldn't turn it down.

I agree, just ordered the RWD base with plus battery, air suspension, chrono and 21" RS Spyder among others and just $4k more than where the 4S just starts. Live in city also and can't do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds anywhere.....but on PCH where i'm at speed is a whole different story.

Problem with the Taycan is there is no resale market for this car. The minute it leaves the showroom the resale value drops like a rock.

Great coverage! I agree, just ordered the RWD base a few weeks ago with plus battery, air suspension, chrono and 21" RS Spyder among others and just $4k more than where the 4S starts. ($17k net difference with exact same build over base) I live in city also and can't do 0-60 in 3.8 seconds anywhere, but on PCH where i'm at speed is a whole different story. And I can put the $17k savings into some nice road trips up and down CA over the next few years....

Nice….every night I come by DTLA Porsche to see what new EV you have on the lot. Very interested in Cross Turismo 4. Waiting for dealer markup $$$ to come down more reasonable. I understand you have more allocations than most dealerships. Currently have Macan GTS and looking to go EV

In Europe, Porsche offers a base Sport Turismo. That model is not available in the USA.
