Kwame Ture (né Stokely Carmichael) deserves to be afforded the respect that accompanies referring to him by his chosen liberatory name.

Yeah, I kind of wrestled with that. I chose to use the name under which he published his book in case anybody wanted to reference it.

Very informative video. Thanks for educating the people. You didn’t mention it in the video but Im interested in what your opinion on the internal colony theory is.

Thanks for watching! I try not to inject my own POV into these videos, but I do find the internal colony a useful metaphor. Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor makes a good point in that generally colonies are places where resources are extracted , but if you consider black labor to be a resource, then the metaphor still holds up.

@@AfricanElementsYou also have to take into account the mass incarceration of black people who are used for free prison labor by the state and corporations. That’s definitely resource extraction.

Are urban ghettos today still under colonization? Most definately, with racist policing, still depriving those of necessary resources needed for basic human survival, but I say, it don't gotta be this way.. black people built this country, our Ancestors did, we deserve it Alllll just as the power structure that put this mess in place.
