Is the Bluetti AC50B the Best Portable Power Station for Camping?

Wow, great to see a review of the AC50 as EcoFlow kind of stole the spot light with the Delta 3 Pro. It looks like Bluetti has finally replaced the EB55 and EB70S. Most current models are now missing the wireless charging on top, except for the AC60. As with most of the new Bluetti models, be sure to charge and update before serious usage.

I’d be lying if despite my disappointment of this not having the EB55’s dual DC charging, which is something rare and I think valuable, since it would allow up to 400w from the right power banks in case there wasn’t enough solar, but I would be lying if I said I am not tempted by this model.

I use my power station for my frig. I always cook with gas which is so much easier and reliable, but that's just me.

I noticed something odd about “power lifting,” on my Eb3a. I had 2 immersion bucket heaters. One was 500w, which it could handle without power lifting. The other was 1000w, which it could only run with power lifting enabled…. BUT, when it ran the 1000w heating element, it didn’t run it at 600w or 500w but for whatever reason the power lifting “decided” to settle on 350w for the 1000w heating element. So basically it made more sense, to just use the 500w element, for its full heating power, but I thought it was peculiar because it seemed intentional, my expectation would have been that by default the power lifting would have used the inverters full capability on top of the “trickery,” instead it settled for an output a little more than half the limited capability…

Why doesn't watts go up for the different charging modes. Standard/Turbo/silent modes stay about 150-160 watts. ??

So, if you don't want to( or "can't" ) use the wifi/ bluetooth programming ability, is there another way ( by say, pressing different combinations of buttons), to make the same programming changes in the battery. Or is it through bluetooth or nothin'.? Thank You for the video , it IS a good size ......and fits right in a needed spot in their lineup

So all those devices the electric jet boiler and that electric burner too at 9:00 minutes in will work safely on that there power supply??how long does the jet boiler last or how many boils and how long will that burner stay on can I cook a couple full meals in that pot??if it runs that I can just buy one of them portable self heating esspresso makers and that’ll do!!

The true benefit and thus value in a power station review is not in describing the technical specifications of the device, but in focusing on its practical benefits. The only thing that stood out for me in this review is that this Bluetti could run the water boiler and the egg cooker for 12 minutes before depleting. From what I gathered, it takes 70 minutes to charge the Bluetti to 80 percent, which would not provide enough power to repeat the scenario that just depleted it. In strictly practical terms that is not a good tradeoff. I did hear that there are faster modes of charging this power station, but those were explained almost exclusively in technical terms (how much wattage, etc.). There was no meaningful information provided about what it would mean to charge the Bluetti at those "turbo" speeds, other than doing so generates a lot of heat. What's meaningful to know is the impact those speeds have on the device itself; for example is it likely to reduce the power station's longevity. Perhaps I'm not the target audience for this review, but please understand there is a large audience of us non-geeks out here. We want and need the practicalities not the technicalities. We want realistic scenarios that focus on what we value most, namely our time and energy. The most valuable information is what devices the power station will run for how long, and how much of my time and energy (my life) am I going to have to expend to get a power station to meet my practical needs (with the emphasis on practical). Yeah but he started at 30% when he said 12 minutes. Had he started at 90% for instance he’d have had 70ish minutes

Awesome video! When are you planning to compare the explorer 300 plus, eb3a, and river 2? I am curious if jackery’s newest tech is on par with bluetti because I’ve read about bluetti’s bad customer service so I’m hesitant on the eb3a.

Do you think it’s perfectly fine to charge in a vehicle while driving, as it says in the manual to avoid bumps and vibration while in use etc ??

Unless you have an unusually bumpy ride it’s fine. I’ve had power stations in my vehicles for years. What really wears them out over time is the extreme temperatures in the vehicle.

I didnt understand why you said you would not use the heater with a power station that size ?

@@daniellecavallari7226 it’ll consume the battery quickly with limited heat provided. Heating blankets are more efficient, but this would only run one for a few hours.
