My husband and I do not have children. So we decided to adopt the big mastiff type dogs that are grown but in shelters. First we had a bullmastiff. He was our dog that started it all. He taught us how to be large dog owners. After he passed, we adopted a South African Boeboel! Intense and protective but with training was a true love. She sadly dies too young from a brain tumor. By this time word Haddad gotten out that we can provide living homes to big dogs. So after a little break, we adopted two Cane a Corsos! Mother and daughter. They were taken by the Humane Society after a police raid on a underground breeder. Mom dog was a bait dog and had scars all on her legs. Her daughter was a breeder dog. But we were up to it and with training, kindness and structure, they are just a lovely pair to have. It had been five years now and they are getting older. Mastiff breeds are just the best. They just need the right family. Oh! And lots of drool cloths!

I got an 8 m/o cane corso from someone looking for a new home for the pup due to the owners worsening health. I didnt realize what I had gotten myself into until after I had taken him home. My roommate has an english mastiff and hes big, dopey, and laid back so i figured italian mastiff wouldnt be too different. That couldnt have been further from the truth. I have had smaller (and yappier) dogs when i lived with my parents before but nothing quite so big and demanding. The dog and I have had a few months of adjusting and its been getting more and more fun and fulfilling caring for Theo and having him around as a companion. (Thats the dogs name btw)

My Corso is broken. Lol He’s a pushover that will let anyone in the house. Most people run when they see him at the door or hear his bark tho. Thankfully they can’t see his tail wagging. 😂

@@Chili-nk4og by purebred, do you mean does his lineage come from Italy? If so yes, his grandparents were. None of these dogs are truly purebred tho. This version of Corso is still technically in its infancy. He’s a about 28-29” and 125-130lbs and very athletic. I’ve seen plenty of Corso that are over 150lbs that IMO have been Americanized. I went with this breeder because he was local, had the lineage and I could meet the parents in person before I picked my boy. Awesome dog and has most of the characteristics (alert, barks when people come to the door etc…) but, he’s just more like “Ferdinand the Bull” than anything else 😂.

My cane corso is 5 months now. She's a challenge at times, but we work on it everyday. I also purchased the Perfect Puppy Course before I got her and I work with a trainer. I love her and want to do everything I can to make sure she has every opportunity to be as amazing as I know she can be.

We had a Boerboel in our family for 10 years. Such a good boy. We've had soo many protective breeds over the years (old, english, Fila, Boerboel, Rottweiler, doberman, american bulldog. All super dogs. We've been fortunate. I've been debating another Boerboel or the Cane. I've researched the Cane for a few years.

I loved mine Teadora we had her when no one seemed to have heard about. Unfortunately, I am so very sad they became a well known breed because so many who used Pitbulls for fighting and generally an abused breed moved their eyes to this breed. We discovered the breed when overseas and went through a yr of interviews and and having our references checked including our vet records on previous dogs and other animals we have had. When she arrived we socialized her itch everyone in our neighborhood that includes children and all sizes of dogs, she was well trained by our cat also😂. I agree 100% with responsible breeding and knowledgeable owners this is a breed who will give you everything they have while settling into your heart and soul. I can go on and on about the breed and your role as the alpha learned owner because I love this breed so very much.❤❤❤❤❤❤

Between your video's and Jason Corey, I've decided my next service/guard dog is a Cane. I have almost 10 acres of mixed woods and sloping fields so he's going to get tons of exercise. And we're in a small close-knit community so socialization will be plentiful as well! I also have experience with Rots, Pits, Pinchers and other big squishes, but watching the breed specific videos from you two definitely helps. counting down the days when the new baby joins our Pit at the beginning of August!

I absolutely love love the character of Will. I have a Cane Corso. He has taught me how to train my puppy to be my companion, I can't move for the guy. I was definitely doing everything wrong for sure

Great video, mate. You should do one on Wire Fox Terriers, a proper British breed 😁 My family is on its 4th, always had foxies, absolutely love this crazy breed! To this day, most people we meet who recognize them, always describe them as the most intense, nuts, high energy dog they ever had 🤣🤣 Intense pretty much sums it up! Love the Corso, truly a noble beast.

My Corso is the sweetest living teddy bear I swear. He acts like he is 30 pounds lol. All he wants is snacks and lovins. But I will say as soon as he sees someone who is suspicious he is on point watching until they leave his view. He is truly the best dog I have ever owned! His sensitivity makes him one of a kind for sure ❤ his bite is no joke. We give him frozen drum sticks and he chews em like he is eating potato chips. We do live in an apartment, hoping to move into a house soon. Luckily my husband is home 24/7. What helps us is doggy puzzles and a treadmill

I used to drive an Audi TT. Now that I have a two and a half year old 50KG female Corso, I drive a Citroen Berlingo Van. You have to make a lot of changes to the way you do things, when you have a Corso.

Take for example you have to be able to work a 10 hour a day job making 26 bucks an hour just to be able to afford a cane Corso in the first place so you definitely need to take on a second job to ensure the proper training

Question! I have seen this breed (males) range in size from 120 to 180, what is the ideal size? Also, do you have breeders of this breed you would suggest? I’m located in the US in Jersey.

Parental lineage will determine the size of any breed, some people purchase these dogs and feel that if they over feed they’ll get a huge corso when it’s mature, WRONG !!! What they will end up with is a corso that’s got a host of problems with their joints/hips etc, it’s best to keep this breed on the slimmer side whilst it’s growing to protect its joints etc,

What should I do. I'm trying to socialize my 6 months female Corso. I take her to the dog park. A 6 month male German shepherd plays aggressively by continuously snapping at her side while playing chase? They're nearly the same size also.

Corso’s definitely want to be your shadow, it can actually be really aggravating at times when all they want to do is be next to you to the point that your tripping over them

I have a young miniature shnauzer female (1,5 year old) and she is very afraid of noises like fireworks, exploding firecrackers, loud car/bike exhaust or even (I know thats sounds funny but im serious) loud farts. I’m a single older woman and only 5ft 😂 but tbh it’s nothing to do with gender or size of owner, it’s more to do with commitment, knowledge and understanding that these dogs require a huge amount of attention, especially for the first couple of years, and that’s constant stimulation both mental and physical. An unattended bored corso can wreak havoc, also an untrained corso can become a major liability. Also before even thinking of purchasing a corso, research the breed and try to talk to owners of the breed. They can give you the honest take on what its like to own this breed, and after all that, if you do decide on this breed then make sure you find a reputable breeder. Only a reputable breeder will have health tested parents, which is a definite must

Yes, but do the work. I got one that can be walked by anyone in my family. I have an exceptional one, low energy and laid back. She's great in public and at dog parks. She looks to me often for permission to do things, approach dogs, wander off leash etc. Still need "work" but she's always getting noticed by her behavior.

@@robincr7ify all depends where your based. I’m in the UK and tbh there’s only a few reputable corso breeders in the UK, and you’ll usually find they have a waiting list for upcoming litters. My corso was an import,

I find all the advice given very informational. However, I find that you damn near have to be a millionaire or someone that doesn’t have a job other than to be a dog trainer. To be able to apply all of that information or in fact, you’re someone that stays at home and your wife works.

Says he loves the breed , then goes on like no one else should be able to have them , and on top of him always making out no one should have them he allowed the sun newspaper to use his posts to slate the breed making out they are the next xl bully ! Far better trainers on KZbin that have this breed and as well as pointing out your responsibility to the dog and other people when you own one he shows you just what the effort with them can get you , an amazing caring loyal friend and companion, a work dog , an agility dog , and so so many other things ! Being so unbalanced to scare people of the breed leaves them as the next target when they don’t deserve it . ( American standard dog training ) think that’s the fella you need .
