100%. Got a 2022 R/T, use it as a commuter. Still faster than most cars on the road, looks great, and sounds awesome. Not to mention don’t need to use premium gas and it’s a little cheaper on the wallet as far as insurance goes. Mine has the black scat pack 275 rims with red caliper/brembo brakes. Even for an r/t I get compliments all the time.

I'm still debating whether I should get the RT or the SXT, thank you for pointing out key factors to daily drive the RT and as you said in the video, you're not a racer, neither am i, there's no point in owning a scat pack or a hellcat if I don't take it to the track, I'm more of a daily driver. I've owned both. I had a 2022 R/T and now I have a 2021 WB Scat Pack (both with 6-spd manual trans). Both engines are awesome! You really only notice the power difference when going over ~4900 rpm. The 5.7L starts to top out, while the 6.4L keeps pulling hard till 6100 rpm. The question is, how much time will you spend between 4900-6100 rpm? If that answer is "not much" or "hardly any", then the 5.7L will be plenty for you. Save yourself some money on price, gas money, and insurance and get the R/T. If you're a speedster, and you think the answer will be "a lot", then you'll be disappointed if you don't get the 6.4L in the Scat Pack. The other reason, which is why I traded up, is that I wanted a widebody and they only make the widebodies in Scat Packs and above.

What's up, bro! I'm so glad i found your channel. I just picked up my 2015 RT plus 5.7L B5 blue with black pearl interior. This video definitely assured me that I made a great decision. I picked it up for $ 26k with 54k miles. I needed a new car, and I wanted to get into one because my dad has owned a bunch of Camaros and GTOs through the years. I had some tickets and an accident 3.5 years ago, which shot my insurance up, but my insurance decreased by 20% after I switched cars. I think they see it as a casual v8, which is great compared to paying over $ 1000 a month for a hellcat. I also got it so I could do some minor modifications and get the HP up to where I feel comfortable. I also do a bit of driving and wanted something casual, but very enjoyable to drive. Thanks for the video because I literally picked it up 1 week ago.

I have a buddy that owns a Hellcat Redeye. He loves driving my RT because it's just so fun. You can use ALL the power on the street and you can't do that with many of the more powerful cars. He's not getting rid of his Redeye, but he takes it to the track to get all those horses working and that's expensive on brakes and tires. You can get a gently used RT for a little money then stick on a Pedal Commander to make the car feel more powerful and increase the fun. I hope everyone gets to drive a Hellcat. They are insane in the very best possible way. But for daily driving and being on the street, there is so much fun to be had with the RT, for a fraction of the cost of its bigger brothers.
@6.2silverbullet
@6.2silverbullet 4 ай бұрын
I started with the rt. It's really a great car with plenty of power for a daily or just a weekend car. I actually enjoy racing and going to the track, so i did end up getting a hellcat. And there really is no comparison. Drove the 392, and it wasn't enough of an upgrade for me. The sheer power of the hellcat blew me away. I dont recommend it unless you are going to take it to the strip. it's just too much power for casual street driving imo. Ive since turned it into a 980 whp monster on nitrous and now only use it at the drag strip. So it just sits in my garage sometimes for months at a time. Id say the 392 really is the sweet spot. But there's nothing wrong with the rt. it's a beast with a few mods.

Good vid. Keep in mind that the 370HP advertised by Dodge is conservative. In actuality it’s 395-400 at the crank. With some mods the 5.7 can be even better. Insurance isn’t the only thing that’s expensive on the scat pack. Having to use 93 is more expensive + the car is 15k more expensive = higher payments. Don’t regret the 5.7 at all.

I know what you're saying about having that craving for more power, but my '23 R/T is still got plenty of power to have fun with. You're not one of the fastest cars around, but I don't race so it doesn't really matter. Sounds great and I got the 6 speed manual for the extra driving connection with the car. I’m the closest I’ve ever been to paying off a car that costs over 50k. And I’ve had a few. In this economic times I don’t even care who has the fastest car. Matter fact I slightly think that most people driving the top dogs can’t really afford it and they don’t even use them to their potential. I agree, I have a 2021 RT Plus, I don’t regret it because the overall cost of ownership for our cars is significantly less than that of a scat pack. I’m sorry but 100 hp to me is not worth that much more in cost. And if you’re racing, the only Mopar you should truly consider is a hellcat since it’s boosted from the factory. See I'm the opposite. I first had the 392 challenger then when I went to go back to dodge again I got the 5.7. I've also never been with a insurance company that charged more for the scat then the RT. Both progressive and geico only increase price when you step up to the hellcat. I got the 5.7 to mod for power and hitting the race track. I can get into a low mile rt for between 15 to 25k. Similar scats are over 10k more. With that price difference in monthly payment you could do allot to the 5.7 before even hitting the price of the 392. Plus on daily driving there wasn't much difference in feel between the 2 cars for me when your just putting around the city.

2019 is last year to buy challenger/charger for the following 1. 2020/2021 COVID-19 nothing was quality controlled 2. Last year before Stellantis took control and they just built much lower quality/durability, and warranty/customer service plummeted. Now 5.7 vs 6.4 comparisons throwing displacement aside the scat is essentially fully modded from factory so to upgrade for more HP+ (by buttdyno) will be costly. The 5.7 has a side street the scat doesn’t have. The 5.7 can buy 6.4 take off manifolds (essentially shorty headers) the 5.7 can run a budget 6.4 factory cam, and a take off hellcat lower air box. This won’t get 6.4 HP but the gains these mods cost for a 5.7 on the buttdyno will seem drastic. Now both cars can get adapter kits to run the 6.2 supercharger (hellcat/demon) but the 5.7 accepts boost better than 6.4 (talking factory the stroke on 5.7 has better RPM durability) So in the end is built HP better than bought HP? Up front bought (6.4) is cheaper but the insurance will catch up and overtake, it’s unavoidable the VIN makes that fact. Built HP if done with a set goal will get 6.4 HP without 6.4 ongoing overhead cost (insurance). My 5.7 M6 Challenger 2014 R/T Blacktop 15k miles sits lower than buddies 6.4 scat. My car cost $28,500 his cost him $46,xxx My car volante CAI $400 180 Tstat $54 BBBk long tubes/high flow cats/sensor extension $1700, 3” cat back with 3”Xpipe, 0:16 M80 cherry bombs and Pyoes square tips $800, Texas Speed stage 3 cam + install with tune $5008.30 So end cost my car $36,xxx more HP than his factory car (just barely 30-40) his being A8 beats my car but just barely. If I wanted I could upgrade further with a SC and be around what he paid. However I have a 2014 and don’t want to push 500 RWHP as the 2015+ have stronger drive shaft and rear ends with ability to swap in hellcat axels and option I don’t have without spend big money.

@@Sailor_jack67 if you say so, let’s see when did 6.2 he is started failing? Certainly not under FCA but under Stellantis aka Puegot you may have heard of them the worst car company in western civilization. If I can say anything positive about Puegot is they haven’t yet fallen to the standards of Moskvitch. Besides if the Stellantis quality was there then why are the brands (Jeep, Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat) failing faster than the Titanic

I bought my scat pack new in 2016 it has 11900 miles on it.....but I want more horsepower. I gave USAA for insurance (house and car). I'm good I pay less for those two than I did with GEICO for just the scat.

Also the RT can be beefed up big time, and have fun moddjing the car.

I still drive my 2018 RT like day one. For 2025 tho I’d buy the new Mustang GT. If budget is higher, C8 hands down.

What's the cost difference between the 5.7 and scat...and then factor in insurance, is it worth doing $5k worth of upgrades to get it to scat levels

The r/t is a great car no cap,.... but, I got bored with the horsepower. Had mine for 3 years before upgrade to a scat. The prices are ridiculous now. 2021 was the last year before the insanity. Be careful and don't overpay!

I think I’m bored with the HP as well and was looking to go Widebody Scat. The only thing is even though they’re discontinued right now, the interest rates are a load of 🐎 💩 lol

I eat them up all the time with my little 302 Coyote.. Even auto on Manual I still rip em.. I have a Stock (Other than exhaust) Manual 17 GT Performance Pack and I could have got a scat or found an SS Camaro. But once I drove all 3 cars it was the Mustang for real.. It's Just a beautiful car thats fun as hell to drive.. But look to each his own. I get why people like dodges, especially the auto scats. My buddy just bought one of these the other day and he doesn't even want to try and race.. He never even brought it up.. I swear I think his 1990 LX 5.0 Fox is fast than his 2018 R/T to the eighth mile definitely.....
