Mavic Air 2 and Mini 3 Pro has 48 MP sensor but with a quad bayer filter so basically it's 12 MP when it comes to the color information in the photo. I take panorama photos manually and use exposure bracketing

Had the Mavic 3 Cine for some time now & it’s used heavily for stills as well. Stitching in Lightroom doesn’t really bother me; takes so little time. Run images through DXO raw. Results are superb. Re cropping, it moves; frame it properly on capture!

Agree about the sharpness. Always better to add a little sharpness than to have an over sharpened Image like what you will get from the Air3

Beautiful footage, just love your editing 😍. was this shot on D-Log & what is your opinion on Iso Range 400-1600, does it affect any video quality?

Thank you! All D-log, and for iso i think it’s all pretty good. 1600 is a little noisy but not major. Unfortunately i feel you lose dynamic range which already isn’t as wide as other long profiles that we may be use to

Nice video. I don’t own yet the M3, but on my M2 pro I routinely shoot in burst mode and than go through a stacking process as smart objects in PS. This is supposed to increase the overall image quality and resolution. In my experience it does. Would think the same is possible with the M3.

The megapixel remark is exactly what you just said, there is an optimal number of MP for the sensor size and I believe it is around the 20-25MP mark, and the output from the M3 is far better then a quad bayer setup in the mini 3 or that of smarphones which use the same 4 pixel construction, having said that, I am not overly impressed by the M3 photography aspect, I feel that my Air 2s easily matched it in most areas, the video on the other hand is a different ball game

Yeah, I film a lot of my videos with a Sony a7siii and that’s only 12 and it’s fine but wish it had 24mp 😂 I never had the chance to try the Air 2s so i’ll just have to take your word for it 😂 thanks for watching Jay. Appreciate it

I have had the Air 3 for 10 months now and really disappointed with photo quality ! Is the Mavic 3 Classic really (really !) better ? Or having sharp photos with drones less than 2000$ and 900g is only a dream ?

I watched this whole video about mavic classic for photos and no talk about the color profiles. How could you leave that out.

The mafic 3 has a digital zoom which I'm guessing isn't too useful. You could get the same "zoom" by cropping the imagee

Yeah, it’s just a digital zoom so a crop. But it depends where you’re wanting to display the image (or video in some cases). In terms of video, it can provide a 5.1k image so you do have some room to crop and if you only need a 1080p file at the end then you’re on to a winner

Is it true that you only have full Log, rather than D-Cinelike as a profile?

You have normal, D-log and HLG, i use D-log all of the time apart from when I fly in lowlight and it’s incredibly easy to work with

I have been using the equivalent of Cinelike for my Inspire 2 and original Mavic Pro, as well as my ground based cameras, because the image is usable without correction to quickly get something to a client, but has leeway in the extremes to capture highlights and shadows.

For me, yeah. I actually never wanted it though… before I bought the Classic I would have been happy with the N1, I had that controller with my Air2 and it was fine. But my mate has the Mini3 with the RC controller and loves it… so I bought it too. The size isn’t that much different, i don’t get stupid notifications distracting me or my mum calling me whilst i’m using my phone for the mavic 😂 Is it worth it? Well if you’re on a budget and have only used the N1 then you won’t miss not having the RC. But if you got the RC, i don’t think you’d regret it 🤷🏻‍♂️

Usually I buy extreme pro sands cards but they are not in the recommended list and the dji consumer help told me to not use them which is very strange because they are much faster than the recommended ones...

Yeahhhhhh but the last time I said the earlier this year I got slated in the comments because the ‘drone clearly states its a 48mp sensor’ 😂 so thought i wouldn’t get technical today 🤣🤣

The AS2 and DJI's MINI 3 do not shoot true 48mp images - both drones have only a 12-megapixel sensor - when switched to 48mp, both units simply multiply each pixel by four - thus, it is not a true 48mp sensor and DJI should know better - what they are doing is really dishonest in my opinion. If you are looking for professional-quality still images, you will not get them from the Mini 3 or the AS2 - both units produce very soft imagery. If you compare the standard 12MP image next to its interpolated "48" MP counterpart, the difference is negligible......In my opinion, if you are a pro shooter and want top-notch still images, you really have to step up to the DJI Inspire II, which starts around 10K CA.

Very good comment. The 48mp images generated by the Air 2, in my experience, contained more detailed, but looked like junk and had unwanted artifacts. The 20mp photos from the M3C are a quantum improvement in overall quality. In addition, they are better than the A2S in noise and color rendition.
