Jobs have a way of dehumanizing people, I have gotten laid off three times in the last 5 years, and every time I was unemployed, I felt human again because I didn’t have to wake up and go to some silly job. It’s just getting ridiculous to try and hold these jobs, when these jobs don’t really care about people. Stop calling people lazy if they don’t want to work. If everyone just does nothing, society is over.

Im 50, been working since 16. What ive learned is this: 1. Tell your employer right off the start, that you sell your time for money. Dont let them think they are your boss. 2. Work at your own pace. Make the money you NEED, nothing more. 3. Set your schedule. Tell your employer that your taking a day off when your not "feeling it". If they cant accept that, then thats not the job for you. 4. Know that retirement is probably out of reach anyway. Enjoy your time while you can. Lastly, work to pay bills and make money, not to live. We get one trip at life, dont waste 95 percent of it working. Dont stress, theres always those out there that will pay money for your time. You dont have to be rich to be happy.

Every time I watch Shark Tank I watch it with pity. Not so much for those that are trying to start a business, but for the Sharks themselves. The Sharks seem to never have enough. Imagine constantly pursuing the next big investment, the next big company or profitable idea when you already have millions or billions. When do they actually get to enjoy their wealth? Most will say they are pursuing "freedom" but are they really free? Or are they just on a larger hamster wheel than the rest of us?

Just talked to my parents about this matter. My sister is selling her 2 million house in California (1 mil mortgage). Her mansion, of 5 bathrooms and bedrooms, 3 living rooms 25 lamps, 5 couches. I always said to my sisters they both have the same house, while I was living in my big to me condo 1000sqft 1 bathroom, 1 living room hahaha 🤣 it was a simple life for us. Easy easy to clean up, cheap on electricity bill. I never had to climb the corporate ladder because I did NOT need to. I got to work from home for 7 years and 1 year in the office. I saved on daycare expenses because i worked while taking care of my child. Sold that condo, made 170k went to rent for a couple of years, a small 1 bedroom. We traveled, we relaxed, sure we worked but we didn’t work for the check, as we didn’t live paycheck to paycheck. Retired 2 years ago at 38 and cashed my condo. I have no ambition and been told that am going to get bored doing nothing. Lol 😅 if that is the case one day, then I go get a job, if I missed working and grinding. Eh? I haven’t felt bored😂 I do what I love every day, walking, hiking, skiing , biking (FREE), I am 41 now and never been fit like this. I have since traveled to Paris, Copenhagen, Umeå, next on the agenda is Thailand next month and Stockholm in the summer. I look forward to waking up everyday😊 I am here to enjoy my life and that’s that! If people wanna work themselves to the grave to just live in a mansion, and drive that Tesla/Mercedes Benz go ahead. But do know that they are working for those things and never home to enjoy their mansion which is ironic.

I still have to work but I'm doing it with a totally different state of mind. I just stopped caring about a lot of things that pissed me off in the past. There is an interesting parallel in China called "Tang ping" (lying flat). It was more prominent in 2021 during the Covid lockdowns. The message is the same as here: prioritize psychological health over economic materialism. Omg this is so true. This is my life now. I quit my corporate job last year. It's been a tough transition, but worth it. We have to transform ourselves to get out of the grind. It is not natural to live a natural life apparently. Now I'm living today for today and if I have any goals it's not to grind to get them, but to keep living each day on the way towards them. It's a complete paradigm shift. It's even worth it if you have to be broke for a minute. Because it's like realigning the foundation and framework in how we do life.

A lot us still grinding away in middle age would have been better off working in the international hospitality or tourism industry in our 20s. Here are some of the things that I am all about these days…: 1.) Frozen cherries and marionberries from PCC Natural Markets 2.) Beef ribs and pasture raised chicken from PCC Natural Markets 3.) Composing music 4.) Browsing KZbin 5.) Liminal Spaces 6.) Free movies on KZbin that are GOOD 7.) Chatting with an AMAZING woman, YES… 8.) Listening to library and less well known film, classical, funk and soft rock music 9.) Low stress 10.) Unstructured time with family and friends. 👍👍👍 11.) Finding a GOOD fantasy adventure video game. It could be a point and click game.. 🤷‍♂️ 12.) Considering going “off grid” still one of these days…

Great video. I felt so guilty…but now I know my truth…I want peace and freedom. It’s amazing how little we can live a great life with… in nothingness is everything…

This video is great, someone is finally speaking my inner thoughts. Liked and subscribed, don’t worry about the negative comments, those people are miserable themselves and lashing out. I have empathy for them too, because we’re all stuck in this same system

Don’t forget - each time you make more money the more you are taxed on those earnings ‼️ I took a pay cut over a year ago after working at Amazon over 4 yrs and holding a position within the BEN group within my region. Now I just clean full time making $3 less and working my side hustles plus building a few businesses. Less stress and I have more time to work on my own plans for life plus soon I can start traveling more again while I’m working to move out of the State where I live to a State where I used to live during my childhood. Big plans in place for 2025🎉🎊🎉😊

I have my own business and even sometimes working for myself can be overwhelming. To the point where I feel I need to have breaks and simply take time off. However, right now I do need to keep grinding as I’m preparing to move out. I just want to get my business to a place where I have enough money to cover all my bills and travel so I can work anywhere. I will never go back to a job. It’s draining, they like to pick on you when you’re an introvert, don’t pay enough, they’re annoying.
Living the simple life is hard.
