The xp is definitely an upgrade and worth every penny I own 4 of them. I use to use primarily split grip but quickly found myself using solid grip most of the time especially when cranking a 6xd or 8xd.

Thanks for distinguishing these two lines apart. I just bought the Curado MGL and I'd like a rod for it (likely Dobyn's) but I'm thinking the new BFS is probably too light (1/16 oz to 5/16) lure wt. rating. If I got the BFS rod would my Curado MGL not be Finnesse-y enough? But bottom line, what's the lightest rod from Dobyn's that would match it best? Thanks.

702 champ or a 742 champ extreme if you can afford it

Dobyns xp champion is more sensitive and best rod for under 450 bucks and cost a lot less. Don't buy one unless you plan on replacing all your rods. You will hate your other rods after fishing a Dobyns. I now have 10.

Do you think the Sierra 733 a good top water/fluke rod? Or what would you recommend for those baits and other reaction baits?

It’s good for lighter stuff but if you want an all around rod that can throw heavier and lighter stuff I would go with the 734

Just broke my sierra spinning and i want to use the upgrade warranty but I don’t know the action difference because I love the way my sierra loaded up. Is the champion xp a faster action?

I could get my hands on a Dobyn Sierra 703c for 100 bucks. Worth buying?

You can get the Sierra in full grip and the Champion XP in split grip. The Sierra full grip have regular sized guides, while their split grip has micro guides.
