The statement might sound controversial but Rohit Sharma is not for tests. Going through the Australian approach, It is necessary to bench him and Kohli for the upcoming test series until and unless they look hungry for runs again (which is not the case now). However, Pujara should not be considered as an option anymore due to age factor and availability of many other youngsters like Abhimanyu Eswaran and Sarfaraz Khan. Shreyas Iyer should be considered for selection in the test side again. Sarfaraz should not be pushed down the order especially below Jadeja. Mohammed Siraj's selection is a big question mark as his statistics is below his potential in tests. It is time to move on from captaincy of Rohit in tests and hand it over to someone like Bumrah or Pant.

It's not controversial at all, everybody knows that, however once Virat stepped down, there was no one to replace him, gill or pant wasn't ready and we only had Rohit who was good in t20 and one day, and we just handed over test to him to make sure we have one captian across all formats, which is something we have been following since long

Future captain has to be someone younger than bumrah who is injury prone. Gill is the best option available now, i would have still gone with KL Rahul, as i believe he could be a good captain, however his form is terrible now and I think Gill is the only option

For your knowledge, Pujara and rahane were performing terribly in test cricket, that’s why they were dropped. They failed miserably in South Africa, nz, England and even India as well. So why not give chance to more new players.

Ok, now no body in the batting performed that’s why they lost those series. If you compare the averages it’s similar to Kohli. Most runs are on rank turners. No disrespect to Kohli, but Pujara and Rahane is far better than half hearted Kohli who wanted to genuinely spent time with his family.

@ india have 1.4 billion population and lakhs of cricketers aspiring to play for the national team. You cannot just rely on 2 players all the time to come and save you. They got plenty of chances and now You need to groom other players and give more chances to youngsters. The problem with india is that they just keep selecting test players mainly from IPL. India needs to select test players who perform in RANJHI trophy like Abhimanyu Easwaran, vihari, Mayank Agarwal, priyank panchal etc.
