I’m on my second season and very pleased with this mower. I am small, old, not very strong and have arthritis. The doctor recommended walking at about the same time as my maintenance guy quit and I decided I should walk behind a self-propelled mower and kill two birds. So easy to crank, just push a button, adjust to fit operator, speed, mowing height. And fold it up and tuck away in a small space. Only this type of mower permits me to maintain my yard. Ladies, you can do it too.

AMP hours, not milliamp. I've had the same model of mower for going on three years myself. By way of context, I got it as a return from Lowe's for $161, marked as "battery doesn't charge." I couldn't pass that up. It's given me the chance to put their warranty to the test. - I got it home and called their support line. We determined that yes, the battery was bad in about two minutes. I had a brand-new 7.5ah battery a couple days later. Worked fine after that during that season and most of last year's. - Towards the end of last year's mowing season, I would get an overheat warning light, but it happened right off the bat before I had mowed anything. I took it to the nearest service center, and it worked fine the rest of the season. - *However*, it started throwing the overheat warning light the very first mow this year. I took it back to the service center, and they sent it to EGO. They worked on the wiring and everything checked out, but then it gave the overheat warning light after they reassembled it. So they're currently putting in a new motor. Would've been simpler to just give me a new one. This is all under warranty on something I got a 75% discount on, so I can't really complain.

Thanks for catching that. I had just wrapped up a review for a product with a milliamp rating so I misspoke. All in all it sounds like you got a pretty good deal!

They actually have a local service center?

Thanks for the video. Good to see this mower is holding up nicely. My son just bought a house and decided to go with the EGO brand for his mower and trimmer. Got a pretty good deal on the LM2135SP that came with a 7.5 hour battery and a free 5 hour battery. The trimmer came with a 2.5 hour so for his size yard he should be all set.

I bought my EGO 7.5 ah for $600 at Lowes June 2023. Now, 14 months later, Lowes is charging $750 for the same 7.5 ah mower. This 25% price hike is not justified and should cause sticker shock. I don't know what the government checks on for CPI calculations, but EGO mower prices don't seem to be part of what they measure.

LM2114SP just saw this as a return like new for $275 with 6amp battery.

I'm on year 8 with my eGo mower. I had the issue (fairly common) with a safety switch in the telescoping handle, which I removed 5 years ago, and have had no further issue. I also replaced the original blade with the two-bladed (x-shaped) mulching blades like yours. I am even using the original battery without issue.

I boungt a EGO lawn mower & leaf blower back in 2022 spring and they held up just fine. I've never had any issue with EGO tools and very impressed. However, two batteries that came with lawn mower,7.5 amp, & blower,5 amp, were replaced by warranty. I was going to buy more Ego tools but after having two dead batteries after a 1 1/2 year, I'm not sure if I'm going to buy more Ego tools. 7.5 amp battery cost $400+ while I paid $500 for the mower.

So now you have a hole on the side of your mower…. Anyway, I have the same mower, Select Cut. First generation of that model on my 5th season. Works as good as it did on the first day. No issues at all.

Have the 2100 sp on the 4th year with the 7.5 ah battery. Never had the battery not last the whole yard. Have around 6 to 7000 square feet to mow. Not have had anything break yet.

I recently acquired the LM2102SP-A model mower that came with 2 4Ah batteries, and have been very impressed with it, and with the EGO product line in general, so far. With the tools I've collected, I've ended up with 4 4Ah and 1 5Ah batteries, so I've had more than enough battery life for the yard work sessions I've put them through so far. I hope to get an EGO lawn tractor before long. I have a little over an acre to maintain.

My mower is much older than that and is going strong as long as I keep the blade sharp. I did replace the 5 amp battery once, but I'm not sure if it was the one that came with mower or blower. I have multiple Ego tools and batteries now.

I love ego mowers the key to battery lasting past the warranty is to run the battery till completely drained and then charge it

If the nut keeps coming out just apply lock tight on the bolt . Great for high vibration areas
@john96638 ай бұрын
Could you do a review of your battery management practices, if any? Some have recommended not to charge to more than 80% without using it immediately, and others said don't fully deplete the battery, overheating is sometimes an issue as well, etc., etc. Ego's weak point is their battery so I'm curious how you manage it. All the best.

I have a new Toro battery mower, it sucks, drive wheel falls off in 2nd hour, battery shorts, and on-line Toro will not take it back. They do not take items back if you use it for 1 minute! Their rear left geared wheel unbolts itself from the bracket, it self destructs! Two others have the same problem. Their repair dealer literally told me "with Toro, its Buyer Beware". I have a Toro case number, a BBB case number, and a US Consumer Product Safety Commission case number. Save yourself and learn from my mistake, and stay away from Toro.

If the battery is charged to 80% full, its longevity will increase dramatically

So you're going to sit there to hit 80% I dought it. You let charge most likely you forget about it.

If you are still under warranty why didn’t you just get EGO to fix the axle instead of drilling holes in your lawnmower?
@TopHomeowner6 ай бұрын
Time to drill a hole VS time to take to the shop... wait for repair... pick it up. I had a yard to mow! 😅
@josephfusca65526 ай бұрын
The mower has a 5 year warranty. Why would you drill a hole to fix a bolt? You could have taken it to be repaired at a service dealer at no cost.
@TopHomeowner6 ай бұрын
I understand your point, but on the flip side... why would I take it to a service center to fix it when I could just drill a hole at no cost and mow my yard again?

My ego lawn mower isn't made anymore. It's somewhere around 15 years old at this point. I have done NOTHING to it, and it's still kicking ass and taking names. It came with a 4ah battery, which is probably hanging around 50% capacity. The more power hungry ego products like the lawn mower and snow blower won't use it anymore. But the 150w AC converter, and the flood light still work with that 4ah battery. Like you said, those clips on the handle did start causing me problems, and I want to say that was fairly early on in the life of the mower. Maybe the second year or so. The fix is just a bungee cord. It goes around the handle, forcing both clips inward. Not a problem since then. And you can remove the cord, and fold up the lawn mower when winter hits. One of these years, I'll get around to sharpening the blade. 😂
@TopHomeowner4 ай бұрын
That's awesome to hear it's still pretty solid after 15 years! Thanks for the tip about the clips too

Thanks for your review. It has to be better than the ryobi. I've been shopping for the last month. I feel this is a little expensive for a mower. But I just won't buy a ryobi after using their trimmer. Terrible tool.

My batterie lasted only 3 years an 5 months , so I ran out of warranty . The replacement batterie is $379.00 dollars . I rather buy a petrol mower for half the price and it will last more than 17 years just like three prior lawn mowers😊

6 years for us and last year clips wore out ( pain in the but because mower dies when they come unclipped). Now it doesn't come on sometimes ( third mow this year 2024). Will be getting a new one. Might be getting a self propelled, do some utube homework first 👍
@lowellwhite88107 ай бұрын
Hmmm. It mows 'most' of your yard on a single charge and the vid you show us has it making three-quarters width passes, presumably because it is incapable of mowing good suburban grass in full pass no matter what the charge state. Wasn't it unfit for intended service when you took it off the shelf at the store? Why did you put up with that?

I purchased a Honda gas powered mower from Lowes back around 2008 and the thing was an absolute piece of junk. Wouldn't start. Many other people in the comments had the same problem.
@zed9955Ай бұрын
@@rascalmatt6713 I had a top of the line. Honda gas power lawnmower and it was junk, when it ran, it cut fine. However, getting it started was a pain, hand to have it fixed under warranty, that only lasted a few months, then constantly tinkering with carburetor and needle valve to get it started. That’s after always having fresh gas and running the gas thru a filter before adding it. My old Toro, starts right up.
