If Israel wins then good luck finding a host country and city for next year. Good luck by creating the same enthusiasm and energy the contest has build especially in the last 10 years. A win will have an impact on the whole future of this event. I don't want the contest to be like this. So yeah i don't want Israel to win. There will be also and for once a fair voting and finally, also a well deserved ARTIST and SONG would be declared as winner, and not just a COUNTRY, which under friends is irrelevant which one wins! Same stays for the Sweden and friends contest, for the Russia and friends contest, for the Outsiders United contest and so on and so on. A big chance also for some country to get finally more than only 0 points... 😜 The whole world would be happy! Almost the whole! ............... if only the first mentioned one wouldn't overshadow the remaining ones, what surely would be the case. And finally there would be only 2 contest stay alive. This one and the 2nd version of the new re-grouped Outsiders United one, with Sweden as the Big1 - incl. all already well known voting and political issues restarting. Unlucky for you, according to your name it seems that your are from the UK, but don't worry, finally it would turn out being on the lucky side. @AmberJays7 ай бұрын
@@JustYetAnotherUser - Not what happened. I'll tell you since I saw the incident myself and had to give a statement about it. Joost was doing his rehearsal on the Thursday night, and after the contestants come off-stage they do the social media reel filming. On that night, he was due to come off-stage, then do more footage reels backstage, and then go onto the press office. He was in a tantrum that night however, and when he was coming down the steps exiting the stage floor, he swung at one of the girls in the marketing team (she's very young, only in late teens) and hit her arm. That caused her phone (which was being used as the camera for the social media content) to lose grip in her hands and go flying across the air, where it fell to the ground and smashed the screen. Then Joost lunged at her and raised his fist as if he was about to punch her. She cowered and screamed, covered her face, and then his delegation team (well the 2 that were with him) jumped in between him and the girl, then they hurried him away backstage. After that, one of the production crew went to pick up the phone from the ground and 4 others went to comfort the girl, because she was shaking and hyperventilating. She didn't come into work the next day because she was too scared to, so that Friday morning (this is the next day) one of the crew went to SVT and reported the incident to HR. They then got the EBU involved, and SVT were demanding that Joost was removed from the venue. EBU started their own investigation and Joost got sent back to the hotel and was told not to return to the venue, and by 3pm that afternoon on the Friday the EBU had decided to disqualify Netherlands and this was supposed to be announced before the jury show. EBU then updated all the screen graphics that afternoon to remove reference to Netherlands as a participant. The Dutch broadcaster then started protesting the decision, and this delayed the announcement, but because the jury show had to go ahead, the EBU then said that rehearsal footage will be used but Joost is not allowed in the venue so he will not be performing live. Dutch broadcaster couldn't get EBU to change it's mind, so then the announcement was supposed to come at the end of the jury show after the arena had been cleared out, and they were going to delay the Vote App by 2 hours so people weren't paying for votes for Netherlands (because they were going to be disqualified). But then the NPO got involved on behalf of the Dutch broadcaster, and they asked for an emergency meeting with their counsel and EBU's counsel, trying to negotiate a way for Netherlands to stay in the competition where rehearsal footage would be used in the final and Joost would no longer perform anymore, but they wanted him in the green room and the EBU said no because he was not allowed in the venue at all. That is why the announcement was delayed for so long and wasn't made until Saturday, but the decision to disqualify him was made back on Friday afternoon. Police ended up getting involved because they were receiving so many calls from media asking about the reports, and since it is now a live criminal proceeding which is being referred to the Swedish public prosecutor, both SVT and EBU are not allowed to comment on it or share any evidence with the public otherwise it will prejudice the investigation. But the Dutch broadcaster has been trying to downplay it as if it wasn't serious, but that's a lie because what happened was serious and it's had a really big impact on the girl. She is very young, only in her late teens, and much smaller than Joost, and he got physical with her and threatening with her. She hasn't been back to work since and she is still on leave right now because it had frightened her that much.
@JustYetAnotherUser7 ай бұрын
@@AmberJays I hope you don't minf if I take your comment with a grain of salt since this is a non official statement. I'll still believe it at least for now as you actually bothered to give a lot of details, thank you so much for the effort! This whole thing sounds ugly. From the situation with Joost, to the situation EBU had to deal with taking in account all the pressure they were already dealing with regarding other issues. Now I can understand why they decided the way they did. I didn't know Joost before eurovision so i can't tell if this sounds far-fetched or not and maybe it was a bit harsh but how would they deal with it in such a short time? Can I ask if you're aware of the reasons as for why he was throwing a tantrum and if that was a common behaviour from him? Because pleas ekeep spreading that this was due to the Israeli delegation's behaviour.
@AmberJays7 ай бұрын
@@JustYetAnotherUser That's fine, all the details will be confirmed in the court case. Also quite a few media have been speaking to production employees so there will probably be articles confirming it beforehand. It was pretty common behaviour not just from him but his whole delegation, and they weren't the only delegation that was unprofessional either, quite a few of them were arrogant and rude this year. A few people from the delegations were also removed from backstage because of their behaviour too, because the entire week all they were doing was antagonising one another and trying to start and provoke fights and throw abuse at each other, which made everyone on edge and uncomfortable. On Friday all of the artists and their delegations got a lecture from EBU management telling them that their behaviour and conduct was unacceptable, and that's why the mood on Friday from everyone on Friday was sombre. Only a small number of the teams at Eurovision this year were actually polite and respectful with production crew, the rest were unprofessional and arrogant.

@@YourCacnea Yes and I am soo tired about all this complaining from the artists thinking they are the only one in the competition. I do not like Israel beeing a part of it either but I get that this is not so easy with banning either. Russia was banned for an invasion in Europe but otherwise it is tough too do that. Azerbadjan should be out as well if we have conflict and democratic criteria. And probably some other nations as well. Maybe that is the way to go? I do not know. In the end a good song won. It was a good final even though the winner was pretty clear. Sure it will not make it less about the conflict with the jury and the televotes. But anyone thinking the organisation is corrupt really needs to think about that. They could have mixed the votes like they did before. This way is more democratic and more exciting. But it makes it confrontational. But I think by now it is obvious that if people would be the only one voting it would much more about other things than music and staging. It can be ok to… but I get that EBU wants both. I have some suggestions but they have faults as well.

As much as I love Eurovision, but didn't you realize that it has been a "farce" since years. Or how it comes that some songs are getting by far the most total points - and by far the most 12 points - by each countries televotes, and same countries Juries are fully ignoring the same one song, by giving even 0 or low points in some cases, as already happend in the past (see i.e. "il Volo" in 2015, who finally came in 3rd position, and btw, guess who won: Sweden!). Or does anybody really think that all those self-named "Experts" do have a higher "intlelekt" than the general common sense??? Sweden didn't even get any 12 points by any Televoting country last year, it was only the "expertise" of a few "smarties" against millions of viewers, that helped "Loreen" to win ESC again, and this even with the same song she sang 10 years ago already!!!! (OK! OK! More or less the same song😁) IMO also this was more than questionable!?!? But please don't wrong understand, it may be pure coincidence that in this two examples Sweden as winner is involved. I don't blame any winning country and its artist but the questionable way that they are voted. So, the Jury is by far the biggest problem of ESC . And considering the above, there have absolutely been songs that didn't really deserve to win and others that have been robbed of it. And as additional confirmation: The only responsible of these fact is "the Jury of smarties", with all their different reasons that let them shine in a very "brilliant" light - for not say "corrupt"! I can't take the competion serious anymore, I just enjoy the show and the songs. But if at the end of each show I finally are left with anger and disappointment - what shouldn't be at all the right feelings after a good show - and this just because of a few "criminals" with apparently no common sense out there, then MY END OF EUROVISION is very near! I don't care about such people opinion/vote. Just a fair voting, this is all I need this would make me soooo happy, no matter who wins😉 Oops! It was not my intentiont to write a book here, but at least, this is MY PERSONAL longtime opinion only, nothing else😁! I'm really stressed about that year's edition, that Italian vote, the potential second political win of the decade, the end of the contest because there is not enough money, Martin really messed up here, this year was really good, the best of the decade from now on, and then EBU decided to keep a problematic country by knowing what the consequences will be, harrassment, political points, and everything that comes with it, Eden does really not deserve the hate she receives, she is just a 20 year old girl who wants to sing and who was forced to be included in politics. I think they should have banned Israel since the start, we wouldn't be where we are at, Joost would still be in the competition, even tho i hate him he is a good and strong contestant, and Eden would not be bullied and sad like this. Honestly, EBU and Martin messed up, I am really deceived about that year's organisation, I at least hope Israel will not win, even tho Eden is so sweet, we cannot let that country win, if Croatia, France or Switzerland win, it will be better for everyone. And I think people this year forgot about the real objective of Eurovision, it is to spread and share the music of a country all around the world, to learn about culture and to learn from each other. Even the slogan "United By Music" says it, but this year, people just remembered "Israel is participating" that's all they wanted to remember, not the songs, not the artists, only the fact that a single problematic country out of 37 is participating, and, to make that a movement, they took the easy decision of "boycott", a thing they never did but even tho they didn't make it, they are still mad and still not aware of the real meaning of eurovision. Sorry if the comment is long and useless but I wanted to express by disappointement about ESC community and delegations, thank you ♥ Edit : thank you for pinning me 🙏

Just be mentally prepared for an israeli win. It's something none of the true eurofans want but i think it is very likely. Will it damage the event? Yes of course. It will prove all the critics right that have nothing to do with Eurovision but still talk about it as a political event where the winner is known before the fina -sure, unfortunately. Will it be the end of Eurovision? No it won't but Eurovision 2025 will be a different event - that's for sure. Eurovision 2024 will stay the peak production eurovision for a long time now. I predict a smaller contest next year with less participants and less artists that want to be involved in this event. Where will it take place? Probably in the UK or Germany since these are the most pro-israeli countries in Europe. It will take 2-3 years to get this contest on the right path again but for now we have to be mentally prepared for our beloved show to be in danger for some time.

Eden is part of the delegation, unfortunately. Did you see the video where Eden does a fake rehearsal while her delegation boos her and yells “free Palestine”, in a way to mock Palestinians and protesters? It’s pure evil, and Eden is an adult that’s very well aware of what’s going on, she deserves to be held accountable as well.
@YourCacnea8 ай бұрын
In this case we should be just a bit more soft on Eden. She’s just a contestant and with no decisional power in this situation, now it’s not a Artist problem but everyone is just acting under their own country’s flag and someone is “ supposed “ to do certain actions for the media so I don’t think she would be so stupid to do so on purpose. Her delegation members should be investigated for this instead
@renanbp8 ай бұрын
@@YourCacnea well, she does have the power of decision to represent and legitimize a genocidal government or not, and chose to do it. To be noted, many Israelis oppose the current government. Meanwhile Eden gets public support from the extreme right prime minister of Israel. Choices, right?

@@renanbp - No, sorry but you all have gone barking mad. Even in the midst of the Russia-Ukraine war, we never held the Russian citizens to account for their government's actions, we always made a point to be clear that our disapproval is only for the actions of the Russian government but not Russians as a people. There is absolutely no logical excuse or reason why a 20-year old singer should be targeted and forced to burden the entire responsibility of a conflict that is even older than she is. She wasn't even alive when this whole situation started, and her family had only recently moved back to Israel after leaving Russia because they disagreed with Russia's war. Where do you expect her family to go now? Certainly not anywhere else in the world; just look at how extreme people have become toward Jews. You see a Jew and it's as if you turn into a rabid animal. Honestly, I think because you all spend so much time inside the Eurovision fandom bubble, that you don't actually realise how that is brushing off on you all as people and changing your behaviours. What is a Eurovision fan in 2024? I'll tell you what it is, it's somebody who finds enjoyment and pleasure in bullying; cheering on 5'000 people baying for blood outside a singer's hotel for no reason other than she is a Jew; frothing at the idea of ridding the world of all Jewish persons. You don't yet realise it, but you've turned into disgusting people as a community, and this year the public sent a message to you in the form of our own votes in the competition to remind you that your hatred is a minority and not welcomed. You are no better than the nutjobs in the Ku Klux Klan - and I mean that sincerely. You both share extremist viewpoints and want the world segregated from a person you don't personally approve of. That is crazy territory you've veered into, and even the Eurovision staff had to tell you on stage: "The community is a loving people, we are not hateful people. What has happened to this community? I do not recognise this community as a loving people". And right he was.

My question is do you really think that is legit, since you live in Italy, you know people there, so is this like voting for Ukraine in 2022, not because of the song or the singer, but to show political support. Whatever is the reason, I don't believe that RAI showed those results accidantely, that must be on purpose, maybe as a warning what to expect. Also, maybe those are not real results. I'm curious to hear your opinion.

The following is a copy of one of my replies to a comment here in this channel. As it is a very important issue right now regarding ESC/ISRAEL, which should concern all of us, I have decided to repost it for all of you, thank you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITED BY MUSIC???? I fully respect your opinion, seriously. But everything is so contradictional what you and some other people say! Everybody is screaming, politics does not belong to ESC, but same people are claiming the participation of Israel (just for clarification: I don't support its politic at all!!!). Does this make any sense? Next, has the ESC suddenly become an election of country of the year or is it still a song contest (with its internal politics, later more on this subject) in which we are voting an artist, his song and performance, no matter where he, or she, or they should be born. You seem to feel so sad for Eden, an artist "unfortunately" born in Israel, but in the other hand and therefore she or any other of her compatriots shouldn't get a chance to participate? Did you ever ask yourself what is going on behind the curtains of each participating country. If we would know what's really going on, than according to your opinion about Israel, the ESC wouldn't have any rights to exist anymore, WITHOUT ANY QUESTION!!! So, my conclusion is, or you just don't know what you are talking about, and I absolutely don't blame you for that, or you and your friend who pinned you, just to support his thoughts, are already (un-)knowingly BRAINWASHED, to just spit more oil to the fire!!! Just for your Information: UNITED BY MUSIC doesn't sound to me the same as UNITED BY POLITICS!. But united by some happyness and peace, where everybody is invited, who can contribute to it, no matter what in this moment is going on in general in this wrong world! Got it? It is a subject, that should concern all of us, and this specific one first of all, every haters who is harassing this young girl for her roots? Shame on all those people, or IS ANYBODY OUT THERE WHO FEELS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE WRONGDOING OF HIS HOMECOUNTRY AND WOULD LIKE - WITH PLEASURE - TO BE HARASSED BECAUSE OF IT??? Not the end of Eurovision is close, the end of humanity has already starte since its beginning. Guys, instead of wishing and claiming, try to really leave politics absolutely out of ESC!!! It can be your contribution to make the world a little better place!

Of course it seems a battle of countries: if an act is presented as COUNTRY represented by the artist instead of correctly THE ARTIST from country, no wonder such discussions are nonstop part of this - for me from exact this moment - STUPID show. Are we at the Olympic Games, or what??? A small correction would have a significant impact on how to look to the competition. Boot him out. The dirty hyporcrite singing songs about brining people together whilst spitting hatred at a 20 year old girl for representing her country at a contest they have participated in for over 50 years.

You're really wrong, she's coming to represent her country and make her people happy, stop being a loser and talk about politics

There is also a reason Why EBU hasnt disqualified Joost (yet?). They wanna avoid that other countries Will follow. For me Its fine if Joost isnt there. I mean, he still acted disrespectful. For me everything Will be about if Israel wins or not. If Israel does, Im struggling to see How Eurovision 2025 Can take place ever.
