Another tip would be to get yourself a local SIM card in the first EU country you visit. They are usually inexpensive, about 20 Euro for a monthly plan with unlimited calls usually and quite decent data. Just remember to avoid buying it at the airport cause it's usually way overpriced. Navigate your way to the city centre, walk into one of those big telco stores and get yourself a prepaid one. The good thing about an EU mobile plan is that it's valid across all EU countries, you can continue using it without paying extra after crossing countries. Kinda like free roaming in a way and it's activated by default. For example you can make phone calls to France numbers and surf the internet while in France, for free using the SIM you have bought in Germany. An important thing to note is this only works in European Union (EU) countries. It will not work in European countries that are not part of the Union like UK, Switzerland, Bosnia, Serbia, Ukraine etc.

A tip I have seen from other videos are to always screen shot your ticket in case of the moments of no signal

Yep that helps!

Be careful with that. In France they made sure to look at timestamps. I showed them a screenshot of a ticket and they would not take it since the time was a few minutes in the past

Nice sharing! I guess it's lucky you never really went to countries where seat reservations are mandatory for their intercity high-speed trains. The infamous ones are Spain, Italy and France. 😂 A standard seat reservation would cost about an additional 10 Euro. For fancy cross-country trains like the Eurostar (London-Paris, London-Amsterdam etc), you will need to pay 30 Euro or more for a seat reservation.

How can we get seat reservations if I have eurail pass and its not shown in the app
@cedriclloyd55718 ай бұрын
For the time where it said no seat reservation was required, but you reserved a seat anyway, how did you do it? Did you go a few days before to the train station to book or did you show up the same day and booked a seat at the ticket counter?
@TheManOfManyMen8 ай бұрын
Try to go a few days in advance if you can. That's what we did.

In the future take a screenshot and registration info. That would resolve spotty Wi-Fi

Hi, Great Videos, how did you do your accommodation books, did you book in advance or wait till you arrived to find somewhere to sleep?
@TheManOfManyMen8 ай бұрын
For Norway I booked a place to stay for each main location we visited before flying there, but for the other countries after we just booked places a week or two in advance and played things by ear.

I made my seat reservations online using German DD app or Austrian OBB app or other national rail services like Eurostar , SNCF connect , also Eurail website with no any problems. Also did you have a problem to enter to the railway station using your QR code ticket? Do you think it’s not going to work? Thanks!

My QR ticket always worked so long as it loaded.

Hi,so is it possible to use the Interrail pass as the ticket and then additionaly buy the reservation on the website of DB our obb or SNCF or ...? Or isn't it possible to buy only the reservation on these websites
@TheManOfManyMen5 ай бұрын
@@FloriaanVdB. I always bought my reservations in person at the train station when I first arrived at a destination I would be staying at for a number of days. Never bought them online, but it may be possible, I just have never done it.

France, Italy and Spain have mandatory seat reservations on the high speed trains. On German ICE it's fully optional, but you clearly have to move if you sit on a seat reserved by another traveller. So booking them for a few Euros on crowded train routes is advised. That is probably what happened on his trip to Hamburg. He sat on a reserved seat and then had to sit on the floor because the train was full. The reserved seats are marked on the ICE, so it makes sense to just look for unmarked seats for a while instead of taking the first reserved one you can find.
