I love my 2023 Pro SR - best work truck in the world.

I have a 2023 XLT standard battery lightning and I absolutely love every single thing about it. It’s the best Truck ever.

It's a pretty sweet ride! Wait for my next video. Somethings afoot!

Just checked this one on my local dealer' s web site ( Hawkesbury, Ont. ) and they are advertising it at $ 62,890 ( with prep and air tax ) or $226 per week for 7 yrs. They are getting closer to the mass of truckers that don' t make $100,000 per year.✌.
@truckedupevs7 ай бұрын
Yep. Even with our higher auto prices and exchange rate here in Canada, it's getting down to the point where a work truck without having to live in it to pay for it is becoming a possibility. Add in the federal $5,000 rebate and things start looking yummy. Thanks for the great comment!

Thank you for your video. It is really helpful. I have visited one of the dealer in Vancouver last Oct and they were saying it was not possible to order pro trim. On same date we were just browsing another Ford lot and was able to order pro trim. The dealer said I shold be able to get it at the end of this month.

Not available in US as of July 2024? Only see XLT in the website.

I think I read the only offer it for commercial owners like 5 or more orders at a time
@Konformation075 ай бұрын
That's for the extended range battery in the Pro but if you are willing to settle for a standard battery then anyone can get one.
@rtk11227 ай бұрын
All very good points! The hp for the price alone is justification enough.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, and yeah, there's a lot of reasons to have this one on the shopping list.

I love my 23 XLT SR and I was in the same boat here in BC, could not get a PRO. Could not get XLT for that matter either. But I watched a couple living off grid that got a lightning as a unit to power their home and it is incredible! In reality you can probably spend the same amount of money for 100kW of batteries as the truck itself. It is incredible bang for your buck just in that sense. And the value of XLT is also there just in 360 camera, pro power onboard and the running boards haha!

I love mine too. I must admit that I've grown to like all my trim perks above the Pro, but both are such an insanely good deal, even when factoring in an ICE truck comparison. Thanks for the awesome comment, and for watching!
@richb741413 күн бұрын
Not for cold climates or towing. The range is significantly reduced by both.
@truckedupevs13 күн бұрын
Yes, and both are fine depending on your use case. Long distance towing, correct. Not a good choice. Short haul towing is not a problem, winter or summer. I do it 12 months of the year. Cold is not as much as a problem as many make it out to be, especially with the introduction of the vapour injected heat pump in 2024.
@RobMudd7 ай бұрын
And…Now includes a heat pump! Pretty sure all 24s are now coming with blue cruise too!! 90 day trial. Not like us lucky 23s that have 3 years
@truckedupevs7 ай бұрын
The heat pump is a bug deal, not talked about much but supposedly superior in its efficiency compared to other auto systems, including Tesla's. I've chatted about it in other videos, but yeah, that's a great point! Yep, we 2023 owners scored a lot of standard perks that are now optional in 2024. Thanks for the comment!

The Pro is a tough truck to get. Had money down on one for about 4 months. Ford has/had a stop delivery order on the truck. Truck still hasn't been delivered to the dealer. I couldn't wait any longer and took a deal on Lariat Lightning. Way to nice for a work truck but what can one do.
@truckedupevs7 ай бұрын
I was in a similar boat but managed to snag an incredibly rare XLT in my neck of the woods. The Lariat is pretty sweet though! Thanks for the comment!
@harmon4116 ай бұрын
Does the 2023 lighting pro compare in the same way to the XLT and the same trims in 2024?
@truckedupevs6 ай бұрын
Thank you for the comment! The big change for 2024 is the introduction of a heat pump HVAC management system, which does away with resistive heating systems and standard air conditioning. However, I was surprised to see that it didn't change the EPA range. I'm guessing that is because the air conditioner is very efficient in an ev. I imagine the range loss in the winter will be considerably improved because of it.
@tofan26226 ай бұрын
Yes it is. The best EV on the market.

Such an insane deal!

Right? It's kind of a no-brainer. Thanks for the comment!
@miraphycs73777 ай бұрын
so are u gonna trade it for 2024 pro? The biggest problem I have with the F-150 lightning is that it has independent rear suspension, not a solid axle. It might be more off-road capable than the cybertruck, but never as good as the regular F-150. Mercedes solved that issue with the new electric G-class. They have body on frame yet solid rear axle.
@truckedupevs7 ай бұрын
Great question. I would if I could. Demand for the XLT I have in Canada is high. Resale is easy. There's almost none of them. However, also in Canada, these Pro babies are few and far between - although I could also order one, I guess - but the likelihood of finding the one on my wish list is slim, since I would want the extended range, which Ford stopped producing for retail clients for 2024. My next foray will likely be an extended range version for more off-roading range, or the trail boss version of the Chevy/GM EV Truck. I have a pre-order for the Silverado EV, but who knows when they'll open it up for purchase outside the US. I love the independent rear suspension for short range towing, hauling and regular work stuff. It has limitations when off-roading but for FSRs and mining roads in the mountains - the stuff I do - it's so much better than my fixed axle off-road lifted and equipped Ranger that it replaced. Stay tuned for an upcoming episode with my buddy, who takes his extended range in places most wouldn't dare - consistently. It holds up incredibly well. can't wait to head out into the bush with him to film! There is rumour of surprises with tech development at Ford on the T3 project that might make the articulation issue of independent suspension a thing of the past. Can't wait to see what they come up with! Thank you so much for the comment!

As much as I like all your points, this thing would only make for a good second vehicle to compliment my F-250. I need the towing and hauling capacity of the 250 and it would be better to just have a small hybrid or electric car as the second vehicle with better range. I do like all this has to offer but I can’t justify two trucks.
@truckedupevs7 ай бұрын
I think you're making an excellent choice. That's a really smart strategy in my humble view. Thanks for commenting!

I replaced both my F-250 Powerstroke and my old EV sedan with a Rivian. In the Western US where I am, there is plenty of charging. I towed my travel trailer from the Pacific Northwest to Arizona and Mexico last year no problem. (The only inconvenience was a lack of truly high speed charging going into Mexico and back, which now that I can use the Supercharger network won’t be a problem again.) But definitely if you’re in an area with less rapid charging, an EV pickup may not be the best option yet. But the Chevy Silverado EV is definitely looking like a great option.
@truckedupevs7 ай бұрын
When you're towing a trailer, did you have to unhook to charge, or are you finding more pull-through stations in western US?
@AnonymousFreakYT7 ай бұрын
@@truckedupevs The Rivian charge network has at least one trailer-friendly stall per station. Most other networks don’t have a specific design goal of being trailer-friendly, but there are some stations that are trailer friendly by accident. (Some the chargers are in a far corner of the lot where few people park, allowing you to parallel park across multiple perpendicular parking spots to reach the end stall of the chargers for example.)
@FlyingAceAV8B7 ай бұрын
@@AnonymousFreakYThard to compare the towing capacity of my F-250 to anything electric. Glad it’s working for you but there are multiple days a year when I’m hauling 15k. Until they make a diesel electric 3/4 ton, electric isn’t going to replace that segment.

It's really crazy trying to justify anything but the lowest trim of any vehicle. It's the same thing with cheaper seats and a radio. How's it possible to make a radio and seats worth 30k more
