They are very good amps and although I miss the nuance on the tubes, but the sound on the Tone Master amps are so good and the weight of the amps are so light that I have not looked back.

New subscriber James. Great review. I have a question though. I have this amp but have no clue about these different channels and you say you like the 57 ( channel 2 ) what exactly is this and how do I access it and the other channels ? I I understand the normal channel 1 & 2 and the vibrato channel 1 &2 but other then that ? Anything else that I’m missing or no ?
@James_stanley_guitar_uk5 ай бұрын
Ahh so the channels are lest and right by the knobs and then there’s the inputs (higher gain and lower gain). The left channel does not have reverb or trem and is traditionally darker sounding and the right is all of the reverb and trem. The 57 is referring to the DI out from the back of the amp. There’s 3 settings on a little switch : no IR, sm57 simulation and Royer simulation. IRs are simulated responses of a certain microphone being used in a room and make direct recording or live work (plugging straight to the PA) sound great. I prefer the SM 57 IR. The only way to access the channels is to plug into them directly on the front of the amp because it’s based on the 65deluxe which predates the channel switching on foot switches (though the have reverb and trem on a switch haha) hope this helps my friend!

How does it perform with analog pedals?
@James_stanley_guitar_uk22 күн бұрын
Really well, I use lots of analog pedals and it’s great with them, I recommend the firmware update that removes the bright cap, OD pedals and fuzzes come to life as the amp is a tad darker at the top end. My king if tone has all the chirp as well as that fullness and clarity. Fuzzes can do that spitty thing they do with tube amps too (I stacked a fuzz face and big muff) to see how far I could push it. It’s great all round!

I'm considering picking up one of these for gigging with my band. For anyone who has owned/gigged with one: how has it held up in the long term? My main concern is reliability, assuming that the tone is close to the real thing. Is it able to cut through in a band mix?

Cuts through great 👍 mines been gigged and gigged over the 16 months I have had it and no problems so far. Theatres, festivals, stadium and clubs it’s been great on all

Deluxes are very portable (light) amps-- why go the tonemaster route with such a light amp?...what's next.. the tonemaster Champ--lol.. Now a super reverb..Pro...tweed bassman...ok that i can get the tonemaster route. But i don't own one so...who knows?

That thumbnail is a laugher! It looks like you're pondering what comes next after 1,2 and 3.
