Awesome video, and these guitars are underrated, in my opinion. I have a 2001 or 2002, black with humbuckers. I think they came with '57 classics, which seem to do all tones very well in this guitar. Great, big warm sounds through my twin reverb, and meaty yet articulate, sick tones through my OG 5150 combo. Very versatile. Seem to be going for about $2K and look so much better than a 335...

Dude, this is the best guitar review video i ever wached! I always needed this type of pickup comparison. Bravo and tank you.

I’m considering picking one of these up. This video helped my decision-making, thank you!

Great video. Wish I had watched it before buying mine back when they came out. Could never get used to that neck and the P100’s, like you say, lacked just what I love about P90’s. Sold it very quickly. You tell it like it is in a friendly fun and impartial way and let the viewer make up their own mind. Good job.

Thank you for making this, the P100 vs P90/Classic '57 comparison is very well-done and useful!

I like the p 90s better than the p 100’s My 2002 135 has the 57 classics, which i like best. Good demo. Great chord combinations.

I have one. I put Lollar P90s in it and it sounds really good. Like you, I love that chunky neck. It was ridiculously inexpensive when I bought it 12 years ago, but I’ve noticed they are going up in price as word is getting out about how good they are, even with the stock P100s.

Good video man. I don't have a Gibson but I found a clone with hamburgers. I had to do a lot of work on it to make it come close to a Gibson sound and feel but it's still just a copy.

It’s a great guitar in my opinion. Yours sound really good in the vid. Not everybody will like every model. I have three of these all with humbuckers. They all sound different from one another. My fave is a cherry red. U will never sell it. It just plays and sounds fantastic.

I had one of these 20 years ago, and sold it because it´s not an ideal Rock guitar. Got an es 335 instead wich does the job way better but back then it was much more expensive. Years later a cheap opertunitiy came along and I bought a another one again for around 1K. Played it a couple a years and parted with it again because of the same reasons. Otherwise great guitar I loved the neck also. But for Rock an es 335 is just a better choice. The es 135 can sound to hollow for some stuff...
@Crypticmaskguitar8 ай бұрын
Absolutely. When it comes to versatility it’s hard to argue that the ES 335 isn’t one of the best around. I try and treat my ES 135 as something completely different than my ES 335. Different feel and different sound. Love them both. Cheers -Ryan

Any advice on where I can find a hard shell case for one of these? Gator or skb ?

I have one from 1991. It came with the black speed knobs which I believe they used from the start. But swapped them with the gold top hat. looks much better. They changed the center block to maple right somewhere mid 90's?

I always heard that Gibson's Memphis made guitars were subpar in terms of build quality. This was back in the 2,000s.

I will always keep mine ... and keep it stock! The P-100s want you to crank the AMP. Everyone has P-90s, but why be everyone?

Do you think those p100 is a woodwork for clean-ish country? Or, modern country?
@Irkennalpha3 ай бұрын
P100 are a bit characterless to be honest. Not incredibly articulated, not very compressed or powerful. Kinda flat EQ'd, with much less bass than a P90 of HB. Definitely it improved my touch playing with those.

Nice! Which one do you have? The P-100 version or the Humbucker Version with the Tune-o-matic and stop bar? I want to pick up a Humbucker version to go along with this one. I much prefer the ES-135 to my ES-335. I'd love to grab an ES-175, too. Cheers -Ryan
