We need to tax this Niño kid and limit his freedoms.

sunspots? ayfkm!?

Because many of the extreme weather pattern cycles discussed pre-date industrialized carbon emissions, how does carbonization affect the guest’s conclusions? Thanks

Um, I generally love Real Vision but I am a journalist specifically focused on long term weather patterns, extreme weather and how/why weather and climate are changing. I've worked for National Geographic, currently at PBS, and I also just completed a feature documentary about wildfire. I interview the world's top weather scientists regularly. Almost none of the weather content in this episode is based on any science. NASA and Noaa have done a lot of work to dispel this unfounded idea that solar cycles have anything to do with climate. They don't. I really think you're doing a disservice to RV members with this kind of information. Stay in your lane or pull in some experts. Again, I'm a real vision remember and I really like the platform but this is absolutely junk.

Thankyou comrad ElementalWildfire for telling us great unwashed masses what it is ok and not ok to question or talk about.

you’re a journalist meaning you’re not a scientist either but rather report on What others tell you or What you observe. I’m guessing you would blame climate change on fossil fuels even though climate change has existed as long as the earth has been in existence.

This guy called this year (2023) back in February down to a T when everyone else (including those scientists) was saying el nino was going to bring loads of rain. And yet here we are with a major drought in the center of the country.

17:41 Sean Hackett is talking about the cyclical impact of the sunspots, but if he's half knowledgeable with the current, peer reviewed, and scientifically confirmed, by every national peak scientific authority and agency, he would know that global warming (GW) and climate change will, by far, override the effects of the upcoming sunspot minima. GW will throw the globes weather systems into complete and utter chaos, exaggerate the magnitude of the peaks and troughs of the jet streams, slow down the jet streams lateral movement, slow down the Gulf Stream (15-20% slowed already, right now), melt the entire summer North polar ice-cap within a decade, and have set in motion (confirmed already) the irreversible collapse and melt of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS) that WILL raise sea-level by (best-case) 15 feet/5 metres, within two centuries. That's Florida gone, most of Eastern England gone, most every coastal city gone, and a conservative 2 Billion refugee's looking for high ground preferably in a rich country. Sunspots are peanuts compared to GW.

Could you give a reference to some quality papers discussing your claims? I would like to investigate this area. Thanks and regards.

Biased driven science. This guy Sean may be wrong but at least we know he put his money where his mouth is

This is not El Niño weather and it is not science. What are you doing?
