Are they still having the issues with the trans overheating on the track?
@VicstructionАй бұрын
It's the rear diff and yes. WRX costs $20k less and doesn't overheat
@sl0907Ай бұрын
Look up 555 engineering. They found out it wasn't the diff that was overheating but the transfer case itself as many other shops have hung the rear diff temp sensor in open air and still had it go on limp mode. Weird thing is the transfer case has no Temp sensor so it's just the computer inffering that data from other sensors around and calculating it based off vehicle load. Basically the fix if u want to hard core track it is to add a cooler for the transfer case to keep Temps in check. Also replace the OEM AWD module with a syvecs controller to prevent the abrupt Limp mode as it can be kinda dangerous and upset the balance of the car if it comes on mid corner.

I mean... I think the ultimate issue, when you come down to it, is that the GRC has a front-biased AWD system. GRolla is my "pick any current year car for free but you have to keep it can't sell it" car, basically my dream daily. And as cool as the aftermarket is getting, I think I would keep mine mostly stock for the first couple years, at least when it comes to power. I'm more of a back road corner crusher than a high speed highway runner so if I have enough horses to get moving on an uphill and safely merge onto the freeway then my mod money could go to tires, brakes, suspension, and utility stuff like a bike rack, and don't have to annoy all my older neighbors at the same time :D Also differential bias adjustment is probably my favorite feature of modern AWD cars, if it came with a 4th mode with full manual adjustment in the full range I'd probably be seriously considering trying to find one with minor collision damage or something. Not to full send 100% RWD or anything but to dial in the perfect bias for my driving style, it's my favorite tuning menu in racing games tied with brake bias.
