Bagged shredded cheese has a ingredient that makes it so the cheese doesn't clump up, and because of that they don't melt as evenly as fresh shredded, so I think you went the right direction!
@fietehermans99032 жыл бұрын
Exactly! It’s got anticoagulant. I recently started using fresh cheese for my macaroni, and the sauce is not as lumpy as before
@edmxero20292 жыл бұрын
Is that something that matters if it's something like this? Cheeses sauces (mac and cheese) makes sense, but I feel like if you're making a meatball or something its gonna melt unless they're just massive
@ZebraMetal2 жыл бұрын
At least where I live it's just simply starch, not sure about the US though
@Reinreith2 жыл бұрын
@@edmxero2029 the issue isn't temperature though, soft cheeses melt at about 130f, medium (chedar) at about 150f, hard at 180f, the issue is that anti-clumping agent is on every shred of cheese to stop it sticking in the bag, if you just toss it into your meatballs you'd have mild texture issues I'd imagine, I BELIEVE it wouldn't affect the taste but thats only because corn starch and/or cellulose doesn't have a taste, not sure when cooked how it'd interact with other stuff tho, and it'd definitely wouldn't melt as well as freshly shredded, leaving you with weird lumps, akin to just stuffing it with warm cheese Unless you want more meatloaf-y meatballs with weird half melted half not nuggets of cheese go freshly shredded, it'll out melt any pre-shredded stuff any day
@shebbaa332 жыл бұрын
@@ZebraMetal they put cellulose in it here in the US, they use unsafe crap in food here that other countries ban.

Idk if it's relevant but from my experience it helped me mix the ingredients of drinks more evenly without stirring (to not loose fizz) when I start with all the ingredients that are low in volume, like alcohol and bitters and then top it off with the mixing ingredients. I'm not a bartender or anything like that tho, just personal experience and it of course is also dependent on what you want from your drink
