The J35XS was absolutely unflyable for a while because of the F14 spam together with the lack of countermeasures and no RWR. It is a plane that you kind of have to go all in with because it has absolutely no endurance whatsoever.

Forgive me if I'm talking shit, but, honestly, moving the J35XS to11.3 (and now 11.0) was such a weird move that killed the plane, it was perfectly decent at 10.7, if we compare it to the other planes at the same current BR, even in the same nation, the mig-21 bis has all-aspect missiles and WAY more countermeasures.

Agree. This at 11.0 is imo overtiered. Bad gun and rounds, no RWR, 6 pops of flairs, energy retention not existent. I think its 11.0 while it has 6 missiles. if it had only 2 or 4 it would be 10.3

Gaijin doesn't seem to care about countermeasures when it comes to balancing imo. There are many examples that support this too, but the worst one I feel like is the Mirage 2000C. Before they "rebalanced" the countermeasures the S4 and the S5 sharing their br was fine. Nowadays, the S5 has 98 countermeasures, and the S4 has: 34... That's 25 pops, at a br where both AMRAAMS and 9Ms can be seen sometimes.

The flares are individual now, and one is enough to spoof a missile. The missiles are very usable and the gun is fine. Skill issue. Just stop flying directly into the furball and vomiting 6 missiles at the first thing you see.

Hey man, love your vids. I think if you want to help out your missiles more, use your IRST on the 35. It has exceptionally good IRST (maybe even the best in game) and it can help your fire off your missiles on high gimbal limits. Helps a lot when you’re energy trapped too.

F-4Es can now easily flare aim-9Ps without throttling down, they got some large calibre flares some time ago.

day 231 of telling people to bring the 2 rocket pods (theyre on pylons that dont use missiles) and they can pretty reliably flare side and front aspect IRs so you can reserve ur real flares for important ones

It's a struggle for sure. It's very hard to get on peoples six when you can't go high and don't have enough fuel to go on flanks. the gun does not pack enough punch and I often find myself out of ammo and unable to do anything. The J35A is so much much better as a premium despite being less of a plane.

Does it look good? Yes Is it fast? Kinda Does it retain energy? No It's a delta wing, is it maneuverable? No Are it's missiles good? No How about it's gun? No Does it have a decent amount of countermeasures? No RWR? No The real cherry on top is that the only thing this is really for is grinding to get the grippen. Which 3 other nations have, along with a better variety. The Swedish air tech tree is so gimped it's insane. It's the worst air tech tree. Gaijen left out a ton of sister nations planes that would help fill these gaps.

2:02 yk half the time it goes through the flares for me, ot just looks like they flares way too late. Other times, they flare at .7km and you'd think it would go through due to the hotter heat signature but it just quits and flies off somewhere. Don't even get me started on those freak matches where you transition from rear aspect to side aspect when flaring an A10's 9L in something like a Hunter F.58 and it still tracks you

I've been having fun with it. I prefer to drop 2 missiles for the drop tanks and take advantage of the extra loiter time. I'll skirt around the furball at treetop level to start, pick off the people doing the same, then once most of the radar missiles are gone I can climb up and go after the last few enemies. I'm getting 3-4 kills a game like this, much more than the milan or F-5.

I bought this all excited, and I'm absolute doggy doo with it. I've been trying really hard to like it but I just can't. It's OK in sim where I can sneak up on people, but in any prolonged dog fight I just end up bleeding my speed and waiting for them to get into position.

It's in options, just use the search tool Radar altimeter = your height above the -ground- instead of height above sea level.

Hey, im no expert by any means but i do not really understand why you turned off your afterburner when that mig 23 came in. when i have flown the xs i tbh rarely had any issues with the countermeasures, and espacially a r60m should be very flarable with a large caliber flare in front aspect shouldnt it?

I apologize for commenting this pretty unrelated issue i have run into recently. But i'm just chilling in the yak 3 and doing good most matches, but sometimes i feel like a just run out of options. In one of my recent games i climbed to about 4,5km but got pushed down by a b7a2 and a xp50 into their teammates (1 spitfire, 2 zeros). Is there anything i can even do when i get pushed into multiple planes that outturn me?

First time i ever disagree with a video lol. I have more than a 3/1 KD in the J35XD (top tier comedy I know). Grinded out the whole tech tree without complaint, it just needs a very aware playstyle, if you manage that you are quite OP most of the time.

How about MiG-21bis? After BR changes it's less than useless. It's fast, decent gun and good as CAS due to lower BR. But it is a brick, useless radar, 6 R-60M that will go for anything but enemy plane and now meets planes on the same BR which are better in every way.
