I’ve installed this subwoofer in my ford Ranger with a pioneer touchscreen radio, the wiring is all correct that I can tell, the RCA cables are going to the sun pre out L and R. The amp turns on but doesn’t work for me. I turned on subwoofer in audio settings and still nothing. Any tips?
@Blowncapacitor84Ай бұрын
I wonder if there is an option on the headunit to turn on/off the sub signal out. The thing you turned on may just turn on the amp (sends voltage to the blue remote wire) other things could be the gain is set too low on the amp and headunit, rcas are faulty or not connected properly ( sometimes they are hard to push in lol) or, the speaker could have came unplugged at the amp or speaker. If you can, turn on the amp and plug In the rcas and touch the other end of the rca cable. If you hear noise when you do that, then it means the headunit isn't sending an audio signal. I've had that happen often.

Hey there! I bought a kicker Walmart sub. It has a built in amp. The wires that came with it wants me to splice into my door speakers for rca inputs. I have a 2023 f150. Would it matter if I splice into my rear speakers? Or should I splice into my front speakers?

ANY IDEA WHY THE AMP PART IS HOT TO THE TOUCH?? bought this today wired it up and it gets really hot
Go to that playlist and check out, "Answering your questions about the Dual TBX10A" (which is pretty much the same thing). I answer a question about that... they will get warm, but it shouldn't be hot.

@justgaming3084 the built in amp is a class AB and not a D . Class AB amps run hotter by nature as they are less efficient and give off this as heat .

I picked one of these up the other night. I am have some issues with wiring them though. I have a scosche rca adapter for the stock system. I’ve had a system wired in before that I did but I’m used to the separate amp and separate sub setup not a wire harness. I had someone helping and they were confused as well. Got any videos helping with premade wire harness to an rca adapter?
@Blowncapacitor846 ай бұрын
I just did a video 2 weeks ago on installing a line out converter (adapter). I also did a video on answering questions about the Dual TBX10A (which is pretty much the same thing). In a nutshell, the harness has 2 red power wires' 2 black ground wires, 2 blue remote wires and 2 rca connectors. The rca's will connect from the adapter to the harness. The power and ground will connect to the red and black wires on the harness (btw, there are 2 wires for each of the power, ground and remote but you can just connect both of those at the same time because they actually connect in the amp and are for using multiple subs. If you only connect one, then be sure to tape the other one.) Now the adapter you have should also send the remote signal?
@@Blowncapacitor84 it does have a remote wire coming out off the adapter as well, yes.

Sorry I'm new at this I don't understand the wiring
@Blowncapacitor845 ай бұрын
No worries! I didn't really go into much detail on the wire harness. Basically, you'll need an amplifier power wire kit (walmart has them) this will power the sub. The red wire is the positive power wire, the black is ground, and the blue is the remote turn on (this turns the amp off with the radio). You'll need a radio with rca outputs and a remote out. If not, you will need a line out converter. Here's a link for installing an identical sub. kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmaXpKRqZcZ8f8Usi=qe4PCutwFLciUBWQ

Why won’t the sub turn off after u turn my car off? I ran the remote wire to the sunroof fuse.
@Blowncapacitor844 ай бұрын
Yeah that won't work. If you run it off the fuse it will be always on. You should wire the remote to something that is switched with the ignition after the fuse panel.
@Big_Clappa4 ай бұрын
Thanks. Where did you wire your remote wire? I also tried the cigarette lighter
@Big_Clappa4 ай бұрын
So should the amp turn off when the car turns off?
@Blowncapacitor844 ай бұрын
@Big_Clappa do you have an aftermarket radio or stock? I would guess it's stock. I wired mine to the remote out wire on my aftermarket radio. If you don't have one then you have to take a multimeter, set it to direct current and figure out what has power when the ignition is on but not when the ignition is turned off. The absolute easiest way you can do it at this point is to get a switch, cut the remote wire as you have it hooked up, connect on side of the wire to one side of the switch, and connect the other side of the cut wire to the other side of the switch. Then, you can just flip the switch when you turn off your vehicle. Basically, power needs to bot be present at the remote wire when the car is off.

I got my car wired up for the Dual TBX10A last week but the sub was a dud and didnt even work. Getting the Jensen 10 installed in the morning, what are they gonna have to change? Hard process or quick?
@Blowncapacitor845 ай бұрын
Super quick and easy! The only thing that has to changed is the battery positive and negative wires that are reversed on the wiring harness. They will probably change out the whole harness but that only takes a couple of minutes.
