Totally worth it. I believe many of the sim racers are suffering from Stockholm syndrome. The reality is Netcode FFB Graphics Sound All are top tier in LMU... It just needs time for everyone to jump on board and face reality

That's the biggest issue with ACC, bumpercar physics! Little touch and you fly away and if you look at GT races IRL they never flies away then touched. Many races is sadly only races against the clock and avoiding contacts

As someone who has been on iRacing for the last 2 years , the GT3’s in this game make me wanna never touch another iRacing GT3 again . LMU makes you feel like you’re actually driving the car and it won’t self spin if you rely on tires too much

I have the same problem right now. Yesterday, after 2 weeks of LMU, I drove Iracing again and when I braked there was nothing at all. It bothered me so much that you can't feel the brakes in Iracing. Also the calendar for the next 12 weeks doesn't look that great in my opinion.

Yes it is! I know im not a long time vet of simracing or even well experienced with any of the big games today, but LMU is currently a superb sim and way beyond what the reputation of the developer (MSG) would have you believe. It deserves much more attention.

I swear it's funny watching youtubers trying to not admit that LMU is a "Grate" Sim, they'll try to find all these little things to complain about but you'll see them still streaming for like 4+ hours, even after they get off the stream you still see them playing, I love racing so I like Grate Sim like AC/ACC/AMS2/RR/RF/RF2/LMU.. so I don't choose sides, as racers we are being spoiled right now with all this good racing we have right now, Assetto corsa EVO is not even out yet, can't wait for WEC and F1 racing in 2025, what a time to be alive in Sim racing. 👍🏾

*great you see youtubers/streamers streaming for like 4+ hours because of views/likes. Every time there's a new update or a new sim, more viewers will tune in...and that is the main goal for all streamers/content creators, views and likes. Imo, playing multiple "sims" degrades the overall experience/fun factor as you'll always be comparing them on a subconscious level, whether you notice it or not. They all try to be "different" which requires a new approach from the user/driver. For instance, braking imo, is the single most important aspect in sim racing, and they all have a different approach to that of real life. Do we all live in different realities or something?

I can't testify toward the racing specifically and how things such as netcoding work, but I have tested the game in single player to analyze the tire model, physics, ffb, car balance of power among other things to consider using this platform for a league I run. It meets a decent standard in many areas, but fails in one critical one, ffb. Most entrenched sim racers use ffb to feel the car's grip limit very precisely to control trail braking, slip angle, and ultimately yaw rate(car rotation). With the current LMU game patch/iteration, the ffb is heavy in straightaways on high speed and gets very light and uninformative after turnin especially below around 70-80mph on GT3 cars. You can test this yourself and move the steering wheel back and forth 10 or 20 degrees or more near the apex of a corner and especially transitioning to corner exit and the ffb does not change, there's literally no information there to gauge where the correct steering angle is to maximize grip. Additionally, the physics don't seem to care much either as the car yaw rotate doesn't change much either. That's not realistic and fails the test amongst 3 or 4 of my RL drivers and needs serious improvement before we can consider this game. Hopefully it improves in the future!

i want to dive into the game (i own it) but i find it extremely hard to buy dlc and or a sub when the game isnt officially out. when its fully out then ill buy the dlc or sub. one thing i havent heard from the devs, or maybe i missed it, if the servers are down and i have sub does that mean my content doesnt work offline during that time?

I realy like your assessement about LMU, realistic and objective, the future is bright for sure, it has its place, there is alot of ppl hyped about ACE and i understand but what i dont understand is saying LMU will die after ACE is lauched, most likely the audiences will be diferent, i personaly dont like open world and free roam.

This game is fantastic , cars feel lively , can actually recover slides well and realistically, only thing I’m noticing is a big drop off in grip on the macca after about 10 mins but it’s sudden , other than that what a game

I play AMS2 and ACC mainly, driving GT and LMDH cars respectively. I tried it. FFB felt weird in the M4, which is the only car i drove. I had literally no feel for what the car was doing. For me, the out of the box experience was miserable. My times, compared to other the other sims, were extremely slow. I was literally doing 2:23s at Spa, which is like 8 seconds slower than what my PB is in ACC and 7 seconds slower than what i can do in AMS2. Wasted money in my case I guess.

I’ve used that argument about fast food to battle and silence cheap gamers who think DLC should be free. It baffles me that people are happy to waste £10 for dog food at McDonalds, but they cry when they have to pay £5 for a car in a driving sim.

necessities vs entertainment/luxuries. Niiice comparison. Whatever happened to paying for a full game once and that's it? Almost every game company has copied the pos Fortnite's scheme of microtransactions due to greed. They purposely release unfinished games at full price and pretty much 'force' consumers to buy the "updates".

@ how is a Big Mac or a happy meal a necessity? Buying licences from real life circuits and car manufacturers cost money, the vast majority of us prefer having extra content added to the base game in the form of dlc instead of say buying a new F1 game or FIFA game every year which are borderline copy and paste with one gimmick added to it. Most sim racers get excited when raceroom, AMS2, iracing, ACC etc bring out updates and brand new cars and tracks for us to race on many years after the original base game was released. DLC keep our most treasured sims alive for many many years. Only peasants could complain about a studio earning money and keeping their games alive for us to enjoy for many years.

the problem i have with the game files is theres non entry for the G pro, ive tried editing the g923 file incase its using that but i dont know if actually changed any thing.. its strange cause the game lists the G pro as my wheel base

It's been a fun game I just don't understand the pace people are getting. Everyone tries to trash games like Iracing "the lap times are too fast". Yes the LMGT3 all time lap record at spa is in the mid 2:20s and guys are running 2:17s, but everyone's racing about the realism. It's not, you are, like ACC exploiting inaccurate physics and car behavior to be fast. Don't get me wrong, it's a blast to play. The racing is really good. Visuals are great. But it's basically ACC with better FFB and less content. Oh well. I'm still having fun with it. I was in a split with you the other day, but I keep getting out in split one and DO NOT belong there. 😂😂

@Kryptic TMG given the nature of the rating i think it should and maybe it may be edited to allow the customer to build in single player modes once there are certain parameters including numbers of cars and other pro settings. The idea should be to improve as a driver and not facilitate a wreckfest because you see guys throwing it up the inside turn 1 using everyone ahead as slide stops and the more drivers come over it's definitely going to get worst. Podiums shouldn't contribute to the ranking system as I'm of the view it increases the nonsense tenfold.

You mentioned the no damage time con. I did the 90 minute at interlagos and had some slight damage, couple tenths down a lap in p1 cruising. i turned repair damage on, stopped in pits to find 33 second repair. So not worth it 😂.

We already know that the games base is solid. But all you are doing is proving everybodies point that is pissed off about the subscription model. ACC is a DONE GAME finished are they asking for subscriptions ? No. This game is NOT even finished, Only has 10 tracks & 4 cars that you realistically get to use. The hypercars & LMP2's are just complete grid destroyers because there is no licsense restrictions in this game. And yes, We are comparing a game that IS NOT finished, Yet is expecting you to buy all the DLC + pay them a subscription fee just to get the championship servers, WHICH where included in ACC. The game is amazing, But motorsport games needs to get real with how they are trying to profit from this. They want so badly to copy Iracing & it is making them seriously salty that people are not accepting it. You know they bought the nascar liscense, The F1 liscense, LMU they wanted to do all those games, Ended up selling the liscenses and focusing on LMU so you really don't think they wanted to directly compete with Iracing ? They are still trying to do it by stapling together RF2 & LMU. THAT is the upsetting, Awful part about how this game is being managed

But you dont have to buy it or play it, if you like the quality of racing in ACC better, if you like the quality of the cars better, if you like the circuits quality better then nobody stops you from playing ACC. And you also dont have to take a subscription, you can just race free races and singleplayer. I Feel when you get a quality product you pay for that quality, and for what you get its very cheap.

ACC had one car, one track, and no multiplayer when it launched in EA. This game had quite a few tracks, cars and a fully operational ranked, free, multiplayer. Yes it has bugs but it has progressed quite far. You can do quite a bit of driving with the base game (free GT3) to try out. The subscription is totally optional for people that want a curated online championship separate from the free daily races.

Iracing and LMU couldn’t be any different. Iracing has a very very small grip window and passed a certain temperature, the tyre is unrecoverable. Very evident in gt3 who can spin out of control for no apparent reasons. This is less visible in high downforce cars, eg lmp2. So you have to drive in a very restrictive way. LMU has a much higher grip window. Iracing will fix their tyres, as promised hopefully.

Shouldn't ever be able to toss any type of car without losing control. It's not a criticism it's encouragement to modify technique. Inputs is gradually executed and threshold should never be exceeded.

You must have a bunch of aids turned on. Game is quite difficult with aids turned off. I'm referring to the in-menu aids under Gameplay not the ones built into the cars. Most of these aren't allowed in online races so if you play offline with them on and jump into an online race you're in for a surprise.
