Is The Logitech G PRO The Best Mouse Ever Or Overrated?

One does not simply buy any random mouse in 2021.
Do you go with Razer, Logitech, or Zowie? Do you go wired or wireless? Does your mouse need to have a bunch of strange holes in it?
And how lightweight are they making these things now? It seems like every single mouse nowadays weighs next to nothing.
The answer to all of these questions might be simpler than you think: a few years ago, Logitech set out to create the perfect mouse. A product that, no matter what esport you play, would sit atop all other gaming mice. And, for the most part, they succeeded.
The G PRO has become maybe the single most ubiquitous gaming peripheral in the world.
But it’s not perfect. It’s staggering price-point and alleged propensity for double-clicking make it not only the most popular mouse out there -- but also the most enigmatic.
And that begs the ultimate question: Is it worth it?

Thanks for the mentions! Just a note on wireless ... if you use low sensitivity and do big swipes to move the mice around, then yeah wireless is huge. If you use a mid to fast sensitivity, like under 35cm/360, then a lot of the cables are so good now that they basically feel wireless, so don't be afraid to look at wired options still! Should help you save some money until wireless gets cheaper.

I play Minecraft and the double clicking is awful. Like if you're speed bridging, if it double clicks it misses you next click input and the block doesn't place. The Double click doesn't benefit you in fighting because the second click isn't registered and then it doesn't read the second Click you make. Same issue as the Speed Bridging thing.

I have a G Pro mechanical keyboard. The paint on one of the buttons wore out after 2 weeks of use. It still works fine, but the worn down paint on the key cap just disappointed me. With this, i have no incentive on buying a G Pro mouse.

Out of all the gaming mouse I've used over 10+ years, I would definitely say that the G Pro is the most amazing mouse I've ever used. I was a little adamant about it being wireless, but its definitely feels on par even with wired. The best feature in my opinion is that you can turn off all the fancy lighting to make it last for about 60-65 hours until you have to recharge it again. It's pricy, but very worth it because the latency, consistency, and precision you get with it is just unreal.

I just love everything wireless cause it's easier on the eyes and makes my setup feel less crowded. The only cables I have plugged into my PC are my monitors, webcam, LAN cable, and Headphones. My mouse and keyboard are both wireless and they just look and feel more comfortable. I get an average of 20ms latency on both of them (being Class A products, and they rarely lag beyond 40-90ms) but overall wireless are just a godsend.

TBH I think the best mouse is the Razer Viper series, both the Mini and the Ultimate. I've tried a plethora of mouse including the G PRO, I much prefer Viper more. Again, it's all preference and it depends on your hand size and how it feels FOR YOU. What's amazing for someone, isn't always gonna be the best for everyone. You gotta just do trial and error and find what fits you the most.

I’ve had the gpro since it first came out and I can say with it just being wireless that helped more than I could’ve ever thought but honestly the only times ive ever had a double click happen is when I press the button too hard. But so far the only issue ive had from it is it being so small ive had to develop a weird ass grip because my hand is way bigger than the mouse.

Well like, for the most part, i have double clicks. But it is no way, the mouse has anything to do with it other than low switch activaton force. The doubleclick at least for me is when i click really badly, and i have seen videos of people which were seriously clicking the mouse from 2 cm above the mouse, so they hit it too strongly and hit it on the way back. Other than that i get the double click like once 2 weeks.

I used to use the Razer Deathadder V3, and while it's still my go-to for aesthetics and comfort (reminds me of a very old Microsoft mouse I used to use when I was a kid in the early 2000's, so nostalgia is part of my appreciation of its design), the Logitech G Pro wireless is really stealing my heart. I got it at Best Buy for $110, a pretty steep discount compared to the $150 price tag it used to fetch, and within this price range is an easy WIN.

G502 hero squad here! I'm on my second one right now and used them for 8 years or so. Never had any problems, only recently has it developed an issue with double-clicking, but that was fixed with a firmware update yesterday. Perfect mouse imo. Great side/thumb buttons, great software, all around great.

I adjusted my grip to use it and now my hands never get tired like before and I've been playing for like 20 year. Mice have come a long way, I could say that. It is all just preference but g pro wireless is definitely the best mouse I've ever used (more than 2 years now).

Shroud didnt want the click failures associated with his name and made them use better switches. Beardedbob and other channels have done tear downs to show this. Along with some other nifty AF mods.

Me and my brother had a guess on the double clicking problem. It happened me after using razer's deathadder mouse after a couple years of using it. The fix for the double click is to open up the mouse, removing the clicking switch, open up the switch itself, and clean (with alchool or such) both the metal parts that touch the switch metal. Our guess is that, after you use the mouse for a while, you start to wear off the metal and create small metal parts (or metal dust). And when you click, it debounces all around on those metals so that it double clicks or in my case, if I just stand on pressing the mouse1, it would debounce (very fast double clicks at a random time with sometimes stopping (like press, it clicks once, then stays like that for a couple of seconds, then it starts double, tripling or more clicks, and stops again, etc...)) all over it. So after cleaning it, it never happens again. (at least for the next couple of years)

GPW Superlight is definitely at the top. However, considering the price point, things like scroll wheel quality and mouse feet aren't something like you'd expect from a $150 never-on-sale mouse. Shape, sensor (it doesn't matter on most top-tier mice but still), buttons etc. feel very good though.

And I have to add, out of the 3 GPW SL I've tried, none of them had a perfectly working scroll wheel. One was really close, but still had registering issues. Maybe it was just me getting unlucky but it seems the quality control wasn't top notch despite the price.

Had a g-pro, experienced a bunch of double-clicking. Used the warranty with BestBuy to get a SteelSeries mouse, returned that, and got the G-Pro again because the shape was so different from everything else, and then it started double-clicking, so I got the viper ultimate. Never had any problems with the viper, very similar to the model O, and I think it's a strong competitor to Logitech.

I had the G Pro wired for a couple years and loved it. I also have a wireless G918 TKL keyboard so it was a no brainer for me to go for the G Pro wireless. Took some getting used to as its a bit heavier and a bit more of a dome shape in my hand. Didn't take long to get used to it. I've had no click issues yet "touch wood". I love the freedom of a wireless mouse. Not that the wires on the original were too much of a hindrance. But it is noticeable for me at least since using my G Pro Wireless. I forked out the cash and got a Powerplay mat for it, so I don't even need to worry about charging it. Totally happy with my setup.

I have many mice, including the GPW and the Superlight, I even have the new final mouse and I have to say the gpro line is my favorite beside the new final mouse, but the final mouse is just to hard to get your hands on and way to expensive($190) but I reccomend the gpw to anyone who can afford it. It's truly an amazing mouse if you can afford it. If you can't there are some good budget options out there and some really stellar wired mice

@@owenpacey4219 The G Pro Superlight is even better than the "normal" G Pro, because is way lighter, the final mouse is also very good, but really fragile, most due to it being so light, being probably the lightest mouse there is. So have that in mind if you want to buy one. I'd go with the G Pro Superlight, mostly because it's easier to buy anywhere you live, and have a much broader spectrum of support also. But any of the two would be a good choice, won't make make you a much better gamer though...

@@colin6711 it's very good, I can go days without charging it while playing for 6-7 hours per day, battery life is fantastic. When it does eventually drain after about 4 days without charging at all, I'll plug it in for an hour and it's back up to around 80% right away.

G Pro X Superlight is the best mouse I've ever used. I'm not saying it's worth $150. If you have other things to spend that money on, any mouse will be good enough for FPS. I have the Shroud edition, it has RGBB, the shroud logo isn't even visible if your right handed, you can buy it for $100-130, and lastly they added a different part to the mouse that made it so the double clicking no longer happens.

From someone who works in the industry of gaming peripherals, I’ll drop my quick take. Logitech are doing it right. They listened to the pros feedback, and built around that. The mouse is increadible, and truly ahead of it’s time. Even though the company I work for is a direct competitor of Logitech, I can only say good things about them. I’m jealous that they’ve created a masterpiece, but at the same time happy for the gaming community. The future for gaming perhipherals is very bright. The keyboards, mice and mousepads of the future are going to be insane.

Ive had a g pro wireless for a long time now and its been the best mouse ive ever had. No issues whatsoever, battery life insane and whenever it needs charging only a small time is required. Whenever its at its end im definitely going to be buying a new g pro.

Once you go wireless, you can never go back. This seems to be true for me. Since the g703 now the g pro wireless, I cannot use a wired mouse. G pro wireless changed my grip for the better as well. It is an incredible mouse and it is worth the "investment". I had used similar priced mice from other brands (not wireless) and I would say this is the most balanced - not too light, not too heavy, ambidextrous, suitable for different style games, tons of charge for a wireless. I cannot believe Logitech is not paying me for this.

@@ggpatatje2654 g703 is nice bit is heavier. It has a better ergonomic shape but the g pro wireleas (using the superlight now) imho is way way better. The pink/magenta edition is incredible. It ia great overall mouse and it is pretty balanced for different activities. Also the g703 got a faulty svroll wheel after a while so it was the reason to switch to g pro wireless 1st edition. The new superlight is better - better switches, better scroll and it is way lighter. So my advice would be to get the superlight g pro wireless. It ia more expensive than g703 but it is better.

My cousin who plays Valorant and Apex let me have his G502 when I got my first gaming laptop. What I love about it is the "thumb guard" that keeps your thumb from scraping the mouse surface. Sounds silly and arbitrary, I know. But I find if feel like I have to exert effort into keeping my thumb from brushing against the pad. The thumb guard lets me relax it. Now I'm planning on getting the wireless version with the power mat.

ive got a g502 wireless with the wireless charging mouse mat. I love it, it did suffer with the double click issue but i replaced the switches with good aftermarket ones and its perfect again

click issues that i've noticed in mice before is usually people clicking way too hard and wiggling their fingers a bit over the surface or something like that. i've tried out mice that my friends used to call out as defect for reasons as "it stops working mid spray in csgo" or "it double clicks". I tested their mice and never had the same problem then we realised that they usually press the mouse buttons insanely hard during intense situations which's causing some kind of problem with the switches. Sometimes it's just that you accidentally double click yourself as well.

G PRO Wireless was too big for my hand and I could not use it. After 2 weeks I sold it and got a smaller Razer Viper Mini. It is small enough for me to grip but I still had to do some custom modding by removing some parts and using sandpaper to make the shape better.

Honestly in my personal opinion the G Pro Wireless is a solid mouse. It has top tier tech and it really performs. What throws me off is this "potato" shape that it has. It is a very safe shape that it will work for most people out there, but it is a "jack of all grip styles master of none" type of mouse. Almost everyone can use it comfortably but not everyone will perform at their full potential when using it due to the shape lacking some curves (again, my personal opinion). I use ambidextrous mice with fingertip grip and I have large hands and I perform better with a Razer Viper, FK1 or HyperX Pulsefire Haste rather than the GPW. And I can grip it / use it just fine. It is just way too rounded / big to really make the difference for me personally. Still a top tier mouse, that is for sure.

i have a glorious model o wireless with ceramic feet over a hard pad, i have to say, til someone releases a ceramic feet for the superlight, the model o will be my main mouse, even though the glide on the g pro is good it can't compete by a long shot (at least for me that plays low sense)

The issue with the GPro Wireless and Superlight is the shape being too safe, it's good for all grips but not excellent at all of them. For example, an MZ1 would be way better for fingertip grip with medium hands, or for medium/large claw, and XM1 would be better. 150 dollars for a mouse that is not truly the best and is too safe for anyone to have the best experience possible, even with all the right specs it is simply not worth it. And regarding double clicking, it's believed it is caused by them having cheaped out and using Chinese Omron switches instead of Japanese Omron, Huano (like Zowie uses), TTC (like the ones on the Pulsefire haste) or Kailh (like the new Razer Orochi or XM1). For 150 bucks, there's no reason they should have used those bad switches instead of better quality ones.

I'm not looking at mice for comfort or feel, I'm looking at them for SRAV (Speed Related Accuracy Variation) which means how accurate the sensor is, and how far from the set DPI it goes when in use. According to RTINGS, the G Pro Wireless has a 0.00% SRAV which means there is no variation (I'm pretty sure) and, paired with the low latency I think it's going to be a great mouse when I get it. I've had the G305 with medium-large hands, so I really don't care about size. I haven't even paid attention to the size of the mouse

Idk why people say wireless noises are superior. I get that it looks better and some could argue it’s more un-restricting but in my years of playing with a wired mouse I have never had the issue of getting caught on my wire. The double click is caused by the omron switches degrading, it is not exclusive to wireless, it was been happening to almost all mouse that uses omron switches

For me, I've owned about 15 mice which includes majority of the top recommended mice. GPW, I just straight up aim the best with it. Even over the GPX. Can't say it's hype for me, but it seems to have the best combination of features and shape over other mice. Close second for me is the Outset AX and Air58
