I started on my 2021 LRS almost month ago and I’ve got no ruhgrets! I’ve wanted one since the dyna LRS came out in ‘16 just have never been in a position to buy one. Bought my ‘21, rode for 2 weeks, took the MSF and haven’t looked back. 1700 miles on her in just under a month. I’m 33, 6’ 1” and 265lbs so I don’t think I would’ve been comfortable on something much smaller. I think if you’re mature enough to ride in your limits and take the shit seriously its no problem to start on the bike you want…if you love it, you’ll ride it every chance you can and experience is the best teacher.

I think this is THE BEST opinion about the big question “should I start on a (insert the bikes name here)” because everyone should know on his own and experience it if he should and if you do a testride and you don’t feel like you should, then just don’t, cuz you will regret it. If you are insecure and think it’s better for you to start on a smaller bike go and do it and become secure and then go bigger when you feel ready for yourself. Stay safe, ride safe✌🏼

A huge part is…. In your head. Can you plant your feet on the ground and duck walk it comfortably? Can you reach your controls easily and do you feel comfortable with where they are? can you control the bike and ride slow in the friction zone? Are you feeling confident when coming to a stop sign or light and in 4 way intersection? If you answered yes to all of those… then probably it’s an ok bike for a first…. But generally you learn those skills on a smaller bike first.. I rode my uncles 1200 at 14 yrs old and 120 pounds but I rode a lot of other bikes first

Thanks for the input 👍, if you've never rode a bike period, then I would say no. I myself have rode many years ago on a Honda 250 Enduro. Just recently in 2022 test rode the Street Bob 114, great bike light weight. I've thought about the Low Rider S 114. They both have powerful motors. One thing I know is you got to respect the power. I'm really hoping on buying a bike this year. Street Bob or Low Rider S. It'll be a 2022 model for the price can't go wrong. I consider myself a beginner, with much respect for the power.

That bike can easily be handled by a beginner rider. It's seat height isn't extremely high and it handles pretty well. The forward lean may throw some people off with stock bars. Most people will be able to flat foot it which gives a rider confidence. It will take some discipline from a new rider to know their riding limits, but that comes with any bike. However, from the factory it isn't putting out these numbers that will wheelie the thing just by the twist of the throttle and there is always the speed and rev limiter that will limit the bike to 107 MPH. I laughed when you said $18,000....that bike won't walk out of any California dealership for under $21,000 starting before TT&L! Great video!

@necrostalker Жыл бұрын
Pro tip: For a beginner, at least for the first maybe second season you ride you should have a bike that you don´t cry for or get broke if you drop it. Then, you can start thinking of a newer bike in my opinion. And a Low rider S isn't bad, nor is any other bike for that matter. Go with what you want to own :)

I always tell people the same thing, test ride it. If you aren't confident on the bike out of the gate on the test ride, it's probably not the right bike for you. In no universe is the FXLRS a beginner bike, but hey, that's just my opinion, and it's worth about as much as this comment lol

Agreed, I think state of mind is a big factor. If you're hesitant or nervous with the LRS she will not be kind to you. I think you need to be comfortable on it and understand what its capable of. How can you decide if a bike is appropriate for beginners? I would say it’s really a question of how much the bike wants to kill you. I have a Lowrider S and I would give it a moderate “wants to kill you” rating. The bike has the same spirit as a horse that wants to gallop out from under you. My concern for new riders is more about issues like picking it up after it was dropped. I come from the camp that says all new riders will drop their bike at some point. Do you really want it to be this one? I’m also old school in the area of weight. I just don’t think it’s a great idea for a new rider to develop their initial basic skills on a bike that weighs almost 700 lbs. These aren’t really blanket statements. This is more of a philosophical approach. It isn’t about the specific bike. It’s about the conditions the bike creates. Can a beginner “ride” it? Absolutely. Should they “learn” on it? I’m not so sure about that.
@IronBornRider2 жыл бұрын
I appreciate your thoughtfulness in your response. I’d agree with all the points you made. I beginner can absolutely learn on a low rider s, but they should definitely think through the pros and cons on their own before making that decision.
