Is The MCU's HULK Weak?!

Comic Hulk would have forced Thanos to use the stones to beat him. Due to the fact it was Post Sakaar Hulk, more commonly known as Green Scar. Green Scar probably would have thunder-clapped Thanos's head and made him brain dead before Thanos even had time to swing his fist. There's also the fact that strength, durability and healing factor aren't Hulk's only abilities. He's also super fast and can run at speeds of 770 Mph. Hulk could outrun almost all of the MCU super heroes. Superhuman stamina that allows him to fight at 100% for days before even feeling the slightest fatigue. Hulk can react to things moving at FTL speeds. Hulk kept up with Mjolnir and Mjolnir transcends time itself, it moves so fast. Hulk can also see into the astral plane, and survive in any environment regardless of how inhospitable it is. It's also not just his strength that spikes when he gets angrier, ALL of his traits spike. He gets faster, stronger, more durable and more relentless the angrier he gets. Hulk doesn't need to eat, drink, or sleep. He also doesn't produce waste. Hulk is resistant to psychic attack, if MCU Hulk had this trait, Scarlet Witch wouldn't have been able to mind control him. He's also immune to all poisons and diseases. He can also manipulate the gamma radiation coming from his body and control how much he radiates. Anything without gamma immunity could instantly be killed if Hulk just released enough radiation.

@@tangdynasty4779 If memory serves. Green Scar was the first iteration of the Hulk where he and Banner were working together. In order to survive on Sakaar Banner and Hulk were in agreement that they needed Banner's brain and Hulk's brawn. Green Scar only really lost it when meek stabbed his friend and revealed the truth about what happened on Sakaar. That was the first time we ever saw the Hulk go World Breaker. Causing planet wide earthquakes by taking a single normal step is a level of strength that MCU Hulk would never have. The perfectly merged Hulk is Heart of the Monster Hulk where all of Banner's personalities merge back into into one. Can't remember if it was out of self acceptance and forgiveness though.

I used to think that Mark Ruffalo was the definitive live-action hulk. I found he pulled off both Banner and Hulk really well. However, I think that as time goes on, Edward Norton as Bruce Banner and Lou Ferrigno as Hulk are definetely better, especially after I saw what Infinity War and Endgame did with the Hulk. The ideas for his charatcer in those films were really cool and could be really interesting. The proof is in the original comics where Prof Hulk comes from, where he's both really intelligent and self-spoken but also very tough and emotional, which is what a combination of Bruce and Hulk SHOULD be. But the problem is that they played those ideas like a big joke. As a result, Prof Hulk is nowhere near as cool as he could've been. Another thing is the action itself. After looking back on Ruffalo's performance as Bruce Banner, I notice that he's not as good as I remember. He always talks and acts in a way where it looks like he just took a nap before filming. He never really seems into the role. Edward Norton plays his character very serious and is obviously very dedicated to the role of Bruce Banner. And you also have Ferrigno doing the motion capture and voice of the Hulk being more intimidating then when Ruffalo took over. There's no silly jokes or dabbing done by the Bruce Banner and Hulk seen in The Incredible Hulk 2008. Norton's playing this character like an actual serious version of Bruce Banner. He's not just Tony's science assistant like in the first two avengers films, nor is he just a big joke like in the last two avengers films. He's a fleshed out, interesting character who really has to go through some internal conflict and trauma, and doesn't just brush it aside with a bunch of one-liners and such. In Marvel( and all comic universes), there are dramatic characters and humorous charatcers. Iron Man, Spiderman, Deadpool,etc are more humorous charatcers. The Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, etc are are the more dramatic characters who are more straight-forward. So , in the MCU, when Tony Stark and Peter Parker are making jokes all the time, it fits 100%. But when you see Bruce Banner in Infinity War trying to turn into the hulk and instead looking like he's taking a shit in public, or when you see Prof Hulk taking selfies and dabbing, it's somewhat painful to watch. That's why Edward Norton and the people behind the Incredible Hulk (Louis Letterrier, etc) , even though that film has some flaws, understood the character ten times more then anybody doing the modern MCU films. That's why, as of now, Edward Norton is the definitive Banner to me.

@@baileygilbert4766 the 2003 Hulk movie is fucking boring and annoying. The editing and directing style are fucking obnoxious and there's barely any hulk in the fucking movie. Most of it is just sitting around and talking with barely any of the actual hero shit. It's like the Hulk equivalent to fan4stic. Also none of the characters are interesting. The only good character was David Banner/Absorbing Man. Bruce Banner and Betty Ross were both so stock and boring it was agonizing to just watch them talk about useless shit. The MCU version of Bruce Banner we got introduced to in The Incredible Hulk (2008) was a hundred times better. Was faithful to the comic with his skill set and abilities while also giving him a personality. Also that movie actually had more of the Hulk in it, doing badass shit. I loved when he was in the chemical plant and when he fought the Abomination. Yeah the CGI doesn't exactly hold up as well as future MCU movies but it's better then the 2003 movie.

Thanos beat hulk with skill and precision, or whatever you call that, he showed a semblance of fighting prowess when he beats up the hulk, and yet when he faces off with the rest of the avengers, he's just another big brute that they have to try to hold down so they can get ahold of the gauntlet. He doesn't even show a fraction of the power he has in the beginning of Infinity war.

I find it funny how everyone who saw the 1st Avenger film was like oh oh this is the best Hulk ever. I'm over like don't mistake a somewhat entertaining movie for how you feel about a character in the film. I was disappointed with how Joss Whedon portrayed the Hulk in that film. Many movies later and everyone is now catching on. Just goes to show don't let your excitement and enjoyment for a film dictate how you view a character.

How it should have gone: 1. Hulk pummels Thanos while he's still surprised. 2. Thanos fights back to try to match Hulk. 3. Thanos resorts to his fancy but effective attacks. 4. After several hits Hulk still doesn't go down and starts getting more ruthless, maybe even doing a single powerful jab into Thanos' ribs. 5. Thanos decides to fully use the Power Stone. 6. First Power Stone Strike is very effective stunning Hulk momentarily until he gets back up. 7. Hulk tries to resist the second Power Stone attack with difficulty. 8. The third attack wasn't enough to keep Hulk from trading an enraged blow. 9. Thanos starts using the Power Stone in quicker succession in either panic or rage. 10. Eventually Hulk becomes stunned long enough for Thanos and his lackey to lock him in place. The rest of the scene could happen almost the same or Thanos manages to knock out Hulk after the massive power struggle. If this fight went down as a long and big power struggle I would have grudgingly accepted Hulk losing. I just don't Hulk want to go down fast like a wuss he should never be.

An additional healing factor feat from the comics (one I have) is when he is facing Speed Freak and he gets cut across the belly by an adamantium blade at high speeds. His guts starts hanging out so he has to hold it in with his hand. His healing is so fast that it heals over his hand and he states "this is the painful part" as he has to rip his hand out of his stomach.

It should have went like this, so when hulk went against Thanos it was a draw and then he was forced to use the stone and the gamma radiation feedback separated the hulk and banner and instead himedal teleports Bruce to earth and leaves hulk on the ship to fight for his life. So then Bruce then tells the avengers that he no longer has his powers and is then forced to use the hulk Buster suit to the battle of Wakanda. And then hulk apon his fight with Thanos, he hitches a teleport ride with Thanos and hulk kicks ass during the battle of Wakanda. Then when the snap hits hulk leaves and goes on his own for the next 5 years and then since of the gama radiation the avengers track down hulk and he agrees and Bruce puts his hand on the gauntlet while hulk tries to snap and they say "together" and then the gamma radiation from the stones brings them back together and hulk becomes more intelligent and knows how to use his powers better and Bruce can turn into the hulk whenever he wants making him the grey hulk.

I am the hugest Hulk fan. Do I think he would beat Thanos in a hand to hand fight, maybe. From my knowledge Hulk is stronger and Thanos is more durable by a decent margin. Thanos also has other advantages (energy blast, etc). But Hulk would never fall in such an easy fight. Also in the comics it has been said Hulk is the one avenger Thanos does not want to come in conflict with.

Yea this is exactly why the mcu is bs. considering hulk should be the most powerful being, and has been significantly depowered more and more to the point of just being a big green guy with proportional strength to his size. Hulk is no longer the incredible hulk. he had a chance under whedon, but thats over. they have nerfed the hulk, simply because a white male, or in hulks case, a green male, cant be more powerful ten a women character like scarlet witch or carol manverse. And thanos actually fears fighting the hulk in a prolonged standoff, which is why he finished him quick, and was using the power stone, cause you could see it glowing, and thanos proportionally has about the same strength level of the hulk, 100 tons. In thanos quest, he thinks to himself fighting the champion of the universe must be like fighting the hulk, which is why he would ave to finish the hulk quick, and its why hulk was the first one to go down in infinity war, and i was fine with that, before that, i just figured we hadnt seen hulk reach his peak. But the nerfed the fuck out of him in the end. taking away his rage, taking away his unlimited potential in power. Hulk is now just a big green dude who can sort of break stuff, when thats not how merged banner and hulk is supposed to act. because of banners personality dominating the hulk form and psyche, he lost his connection to his savage side and therefore cant get stronger as he becomes more savage. in the comics, bruce has learned to harness his rage while dominating the hulks personality, and using his ability to grow stronger to his advantage. Sure bruce can sort of control it in the mcu, but theres no nearly enough time in 1 movie to develop the character to the point of harnessing his rage, and still be bruce banner, giving him the ability to use weapons, and still have the desire to smash. MCU smart hulk, is just a big green mark ruffalo basically and its a total shame, because hulk deserved a moment to shine after getting beaten by thanos. if endgame was made by whedon, he would had hulk go up against thanos in the final moments and take him on long enough for the heroes to get the stones from thanos. and the whole, infinity stones killing the user, especially the hulk is total bullshit and stupid, and only exists to make it harder to keep using the stones for a plot, that only certain beings can use them, and it was a convenient way to kill tony stark. its probably why they did it originally, when a myriad of character have used the gems in the books, and never died from just using them. another reason the comics are superior. ALSO they took away hulks healing factor. The reason the russos nerfed hulks powers wasnt even a conscious choice, they admitted simply, they didnt know shit about the hulk, so did whatever with him. They had no understand or knowledge of hulks powers, so they depowered him to make him weaker, and less of the avengers powerhouse. they wanted to give that honor to coral manvers. if the guantlet was emitting mostly gamma raditation, it would mean the hulk was made to wield the gauntlet and it couldnt of destroyed his arm, it should only partially destroyed it and then regenerate immediately after using it, because gamma radiation adds and fuels the hulks power. So it doesnt make a lick of sense why his arm was destroyed, and can be chalked up to straight ignorance of the writer and directors. Tey have made hulk a joke, the most powerful being in the universe, and they make carol manvers stronger then the hulk. its bullshit and stupid. considering manverse can only lift 70 tons, and 75 as capn muh vel, while hulk cn lift upwards of 100 tons, and it becomes incalculable once he reaches a certain state of anger, that his power grows beyond calculation. But because of the hulks ability to get stronger the more angry he becomes, thanos doesnt want to fight hulk in a prolonged stand off because he knows eventually the hulk woulld surpass him. Actually when hulk is in his merged green scar form, his strength can become so great its incalculable, and cant be quantified on any mortal scaling. Simply put, the green scar is called the world breaker for a reason, and its his fury that pushes his power past its limits. The hulk is only as strong as his ability to become more and more angry that he is still fighting. because technically the hulk doesnt like fighting. Hes just built for it. What the mcu has done, is destroyed the hulk, by depowering him, taking away his ability to get stronger with more anger, and they took away his healing factor. he is JUST super durable in the mcu, but not the invincible hulk of the comics, and thats why the movies have slowly become shit that pales compared to the comics. To prove my point i give you exibit a his arm would of healed had he still had his healing factor, he should of gotten a rematch with thanos at the end, and hulk should still have the ability to be the most powerful being in the mcu. But they decided that he shouldnt be, and went and destroyed the character for any future mcu appearances. If hulk only has a robot arm, it means he can no longer use his natural strength, and its taken away all feats that are beyond comprehension. Because a robotic arm, will never be capable of what his actual arm can do. So they basically handicapped hulk so he wouldnt be active super hero anymore. Itts terrible writing and story telling, and the mcu is now dead, transformed into the msheu, where characters are simply more powerful because they have a vagina. Which is stupid considering scarlet wtch, by physical human standards, is still just a normal woemen without her powers, should the hulk get close and stop her from using them, she would be thrashed by the hulk. and hulk should of been OP when put up against thanos in the end and carol manvers. Its exactly the feats of super heroism, people expected from the mcu, we expected a loyal to the comics universe, because hulk could have major feats of strength if they just wrote it right, because you can make anything work in live action, if you just know how to bring it to life. and they were close with the hulk in thor, but when the mcu got beaten over the ass with identity politics, that all went down the drain, so now we have star buck hulk, instead smart savage hulk that is bruce banner, but merged with hulk and able to think so his rage is in tact, because of the banner personality being dominant, it pretty much means, the hulk cant be more powerful because bruces rational mind and emotions, also holds himself back. along with having a dick and testosterone, cause you know what disney says, MEN ARE TOXIC. and the most powerful being in the marvel universe, cant be the embodyment of "toxic masculinity" Next will be wolverine and his healing factor, they already nerfed spidermans strength, when he is supposed to be able to lift 25 tons. Its a disaster that unraveled into shit because they keep putting film makers on mcu projects that dont read comics, and the comics? They are the reason the mcu worked in the first few times around, because it was true to the source material. the mcu was even following a rough outline of the marvel timeline, like the major story points was a true retelling of avengers history in the comics. until disney took over, and the universe started going down hill in quality, being terrible half movies without any cinematic flare. They all look like expensive tv movies and sketch comedies, because the mcu will set an entire movie or act 1 2 etc, in office buildings, or hall ways, and just basic rooms. When the setting on marvels greatest stores, varies from stoy to story, and they dont hang around in office buildings to fight in their civies. Nah hulk is supposed to be fighting bad guys in new york 1 on 1, xmen should spend alot of time in sewers and techno cybernetic labs.

The fucking god of thunder was easy smashed by hulk in comics and even animated movies. Conclusion is one MCU made from incredible hulk.. just some strong barbarian. His strengh not even growing when he is getting more anger. Even that fight with Thor. He punch Thor and Thor flies around 50m? 100m? In AoU, he hits heavier robots - including Ultrion so hard to force them to fly kilometers. No any logic.

how was vs thanos embarrassing he's the same if not stronger than the hulk your just wrong... and besides that he has a countless number of advantages against him for other various reasons and reasons within those reasons, that is not embarrassing at all how well he did against him. He beat Thor who had his powers maxed out in infinity war later and then who can easily beat every avenger including hulk but he had storm breaker too and still thanos beat Thor within seconds. He even knocked out and beat captain marvel the strongest and most durable hero in the mcu WITH JUST HIS BARE HANDS. Like what were you on in 2020 bro. Like he had continuously improved his fighting technique for hundreds of years, was able to control his emotions which is literally critical in a fight like this, and he was just smarter in general.

He's is weak. He gets his ass kicked on a regular basis. Tell me how he gets stronger the angrier he gets and he was straight up PISSED at iron man and he got beat up. The mcu made him a bitch. Thanos won because they needed to show how tough of an enemy he was. So they had him smash down the Hulk. It was a bad decision to make it such a one sided fight, but they probably couldn't have the fight last too long due to screen time. In their eyes nobody would want to see a 6 hour long movie. Same reason why they made the Hulk a laughing stock in Endgame.
