Did I not LEAK that info about the new Codename: Sitka compact truck that Toyota is testing in Western Washington State? There are THREE MODELS of it including a long bed single cab/extended cab version for the tradespeople and trades companies. The others are Crew Cab short bed models and ALL are 4-cylinder hybrid model that are quite plain but easy-to-clean and very-functional inside. As far as I was told from my two secretive automotive engineering sources, Toyota may introduce and/or disclose the Sitka compact trucks as early as mid-to-late 2025 for a possible 2026 manufacturing start! THEN, we also have to add-in an Asian source that disclosed that Honda has approached Stellantis to possibly BUY the RAM and Jeep divisions to be run as independent subsidiaries of Honda. Honda wants to get into the BIG TRUCK GAME and what better way to get some of that Big Truck Profit than to buy RAM and Jeep and put some super-reliable Honda engines in them for the fuel-efficiency ratings and KEEP the Cummins Diesel engines contracts for their own Honda parts inventory to be used in other Honda vehicles! My Asian source wants to put some pricing pressures on GM, Ford and Toyota in the truck and 4x4 department and will be going ALL-IN on super-efficient hybrid technology and future EV tech for full size and HD trucks! We might even see a done deal by Honda and Stellantis in late-January or early-February 2025! It's GONNA GET INTERESTING this year cuz Ford is ALSO looking at the extending the F150 Lightning Chassis by putting a super-efficient Flat-4 or Flat-6 in-between the frame rails running only as a generator for the EV motors so we still get a Frunk in the F150! Nothing needs to be changed EXCEPT that the Flat-4 or Flat-6 engines be made to fit in-between the forward or mid-frames rails of the F150 Lightning along with a fuel tank ALSO put in-between the frame rails of the F150 Lightning! That type of technological fix will SOLVE some of the issues of range with the current F150 Lightning AND let us keep the very handy Frunk! I have ALSO HEARD that Ford is looking to UPSIZE the F150 Chassis into the F250/350/F450 HD trucks and ALSO put a flat engine (i.e. probably a turbo FLAT-6!) in-between the frame rails and use it only as a generator that will power the current EV motor systems that will ALSO be upscaled for heavier duty HD truck towing and bed-carrying loads! The Pro-Power Onboard is supposed to be upgraded to a full 15 KW (15,000 Watts!) to be able to power 240 Volts at 30 amp/50 amp circuits such as those needed by big RVs and big MIG/TIG Welders! 2025 is going to be a VERY VERY interesting year for trucks! V

I literally bought a 2024 last weekend, didn’t want to wait for a 2025, and got a great deal on mine. XLT trim level with the FX4 and towing packages, I’ll never tow anything but it’s got beefier suspension and bigger radiator. I test drove plenty of different vehicles, I wanted AWD because I live in Wisconsin and after test driving the Maverick just one time I knew it was the vehicle I wanted. Great little truck and the price was nowhere near the price of a full size

Fair if you don’t love the facelift, but I personally think the new look is better but to each their own. As for price considering a XL 25 F150 starts at $38,710 before destination(after it comes to $41,400) as a single cab mind you so not even with 5 seats. And A Mav XL starts at $28,685 (all after destination btw)not to sound too sarcastic, but considering that’s a 14 thousand dollar difference still seems pretty affordable to me. Especially when you also consider a top trim Mav lariat still undercuts the staring price of a Base F150 by a few hundred to 1-2k ehhh still sounds pretty affordable to me 🤷‍♂️

That AWD Hybrid Maverick looks really nice. The stripes and that color really pop. Hope you get that model and color. Love to see slip test, MPG loop testing, towing, and practicality type test (groceries, tall item loading etc.)

Not a fan of that useless thing over the bed making the bed less useful by making it harder to load things over the side. And not a fan of that glossy grill, on either of them. I kind of hate when they make plastic glossy like it's trying to be something it's not. I like the front end of my 2022 Maverick so much more than either of those... Simple and not trying too hard to look sleek or fancy or whatever.

I just built a Lobo on Ford's configurator. $45K. Sorry, no sale at that price. I have a 23 Maverick Lariat, and I was thinking about upgrading, but not for that money. I'd just as soon as stretch the budget and get a Ranger.

Fully agree. I also have 23 Maverick Lariat. I love it, but the thing about the Lobo I can't get over is the fact that it's a "performance" model that has fewer horsepower than my 23' 2.0. I expected them to drop the 2.3 in the Lobo.

The problem with the Mavericks is they went from a $28-$35,000 truck to now they are over $45,000 for the top trim. You can get a Colorado, Canyon, Ranger, etc… for that price and get 7700lb for towing🤷‍♂️ if you’re using a truck for truck things the Maverick is no longer the best option once you go above the base model. (Side note) The casual look is better, and the half dress up and half worn out faded black jeans just don’t work unless your on a business call and the camera only shows above the torso💀🤭

Again, this was originally conceived as a sub-20k truck, it's now starting life in 2025 as a sub-27k truck, and to just get the basest of models to a level that is modestly equipped, it's sub-29k, and the complete out the door prices is going to be north of 30k, ludicrous, For that money, you could get a low mileage 2022 Ford F150 XL Supercrew with a freaking V8. I have a 2022 Velocity Blue Maverick XLT FX4 that I Love, I really like the Red and Green colorways you filmed. I have a Leer cap on mine that is my only regret, it was a nightmare. It still leaks, drove my mileage down and makes the rear a giant blinds pot. I put a dash/rear cam system on it and that helped a bunch. I'm on the fence with the front end changes, but think the upgrade to the Hybrid system is great as the 4K towing and AWD make the truck so much more useful and drive so well. It beats the hell out of my 2016 Silverado.

I think the Lobo is a fairly cool truck. But I absolutely hate how they routed the exhaust. They put it directly below the rear differential. That's a great way to heat up your rear diff. You don't want to heat that thing up it. It's a bad design. I'm sure there will be people who put on an aftermarket piping and Properly route the exhaust pipe out of the way. That way you don't hit it off of speed bumps

The new Maverick line-up looks great! Ford is going to sell a ton of these trucks I'm betting. Glad they finally offer a hybrid AWD setup which wasn't available in the last model year, for some reason. The exterior and interior overall was much needed and they did a bangup job IMO. I agree, there should be at least a 2,000 watt dual plug setup in the box in a 2025 truck, especially a hybrid truck.

Good to see Nathan! Now that Ford has jacked up the price of the Maverick thousands of dollars since its introduction just 2 years ago, Toyota might be willing and able to compete. I'd like to see that, though Toyota is experiencing major reliability problems with their newest trucks, so maybe it's not such a great idea. The Maverick refresh looks great to my eyes. The problem for me is that it's trying to be a jack of all trades but is a master of none. The hybrid saves on gas, but it costs thousands more. The interior is cramped for leg room when accommodating people larger than small children in the rear, while the bed is also tiny. So it really doesn't do anything particularly well.

Yes, forget the Stout, introduce the Hilux which is a credible small'ish truck that's not afraid of hard work and is rated to tow 7700lb with a 2200lb payload (in Europe). Its only a little bit smaller than the Tacoma though.

Problem is I've driven the Maverick and the ride quality is super harsh, worse than my Accord coupe and that's saying something. Wish Ford would fix that and the Tupperware looking interior.

Since it's initial launch, the Maverick has gone through "some" changes and differing available options. Where is the access cab 6' bed option? I don't, and never will, need rear seating. This Maverick is the perfect size and has appealing mpgs. It hits the spot in so many ways, except for that short bed. The current and only bed length offered is just too short for my needs. Not everyone is married and has 2-3 kids to haul around. Ford, make a Maverick for solo drivers, hot shot delivery drivers and trades workers PLEASE.

In Mexico, Lobo is from the Lariat trim above, and F150 is the lower work truck model. You could even check the Ford Mexico website & even in english. Back then, when Ford introduced the F150, people were so confused between F150,250, and 350. So Ford decided to rename the none work halftone Lobo. Also, in Mexico, there are no luxury Super -duty trucks. Because HD tracks are classified as commercial only. The same is true with Chevy. Silverado is the work truck, and Cheyenne is the luxury truck.

payload is always less in trucks that aren't the normal build. look at the raptor and trx, also their towing is less. it has to do with suspension and power-train.

Price increases aside, I still can't get over the new front end on the Maverick refresh. I was homing in on a Maverick as my next vehicle but the front end refresh took a lot of the wind out of my sails. They removed a lot of the personality of the truck - and now it doesn't look like it was designed by the same person who designed the rest of the truck.

I highly recommend Granger for vehicles also, especially if you want to order a Maverick. FYI, you can't get a Granger warranty in Florida. Florida sucks and doesn't allow competition so all dealers charge the same ridiculous rate.

Of course, this straight backrest at the back offers comfort even though there is enough space for the front seat 😬... as it is monocoque, it makes little sense for the brand to prioritize the comfort of the rear passenger compartment!
