Aussie here. Just ordered mine. We get the 2.8L Diesel 4 pot. Little more gutless than your gas model in the US and should be more economical. Love the look. I'm coming from a Land Rover Discovery which has been sensational to own and drive and far more refined than the Toyota but I bought the Landcruiser two things the Land Rover can never do. 1. Get you to the destination without exploding and back again. 2. Not depreciate like rotting fruit. Plus I'm really looking forward to driving something that isn't an overly luxurious princess and has a tough as nails feel.

I only see "register my interest" on the Aussie site. Did you get an email to order it? Did you get all the model details somewhere? Which one did you go with?
@jax1079Ай бұрын
I'd really love to check out that diesel version just to see how it stacks up.

@@kdogauch I registered my interest about a year ago before the local dealers even knew about it. Put down a deposit about 2 months ago. Confirmed arrival looks like early January at this stage. The local dealer sent me a spec on the models about two months ago

I bought a 1958 version LC about 4 weeks ago, and traded in my 2015 4Runner (150,00 miles with no trouble) to do it. The LC is hands down the vastly better vehicle. I have owned various 4wd vehicles over the last 52 years, and the LC is my favorite.

Great summery of the LC. I love my LCLC in Trail dust and I would add that it has been an absolute head turner around town. People pointing, throwing thumbs up, leaning out car windows to ask what it is…people are just very excited about seeing it out on the road.
@jax1079Ай бұрын
I can definitely see that. There is one out by us in Atlanta that's underground with larger tires, and it looks absolutely incredible

Dude!! I'm 6'6 and have been very curious about my abaikty to fit. Did you fit comfortably??? What would you compare it to?

How could you even afford it?
@davidmitchАй бұрын
I'm 6'5" and have tons of headroom and fit in the LC250 better than my old 2012 Tacoma. Just be sure to get a model without the moonroof. I have the 1958 model and have been super happy with it.

By working hard and making money?
@jax1079Ай бұрын
Yes, both me and Danny Drives are that tall, and we fit just fine in the driver and passenger seats. It's probably about Bronco-ish size in the front with a little more rear seat space than the Ford Bronco and more cargo space. It's really the perfect size for us, BUT... one of our daughters (6'1") is in college and the other (6') can almost drive, so we don't need rear seat space like we used to.
@jax1079Ай бұрын
Absolutely. Last gen Toyota Tacoma had a terrible driving position for tall people. This Toyota Land Cruiser (and to be fair the new Toyota Tacoma) have MUCH better driving positions. The 1958 Land Cruiser is a fantastic "base" model considering everything you get.

Great video - curious if you think this is a better choice than the 6th gen 4Runner?
@jax1079Ай бұрын
I've only gotten to see the new 4Runner but I haven't had any seat time. However, I personally like the Land Cruiser more. It's more than capable enough, has more cargo space, a nicer interior, and I think it's better looking as well.

I am glad people are discovering the trails in my home state. Where in WV was this?
@jax1079Ай бұрын
Twin Mountain Off-road adventure park. Kinda south east I believe because we road tripped into Virginia afterwards and the Shenandoah national forest. Absolutely beautiful countryside up there.

@@jax1079 It is beautiful. My family and friends have always considered it the hidden gem of the Mid-Atlantic.

@@itsjeffreyab Totally see why. We are fortunate enough to have some stunning scenery in north Georgia and North Carolina/East Tennessee, but West Virginia hit different. 🙂

Mine comes in next week, I see a couple ''hybrid malfunctions'' on landcruiserforum...' I'm hoping that's very very few and these are good for 200k + miles... makes me a bit worried. but these videos make me feel they'll be ok
@jax107926 күн бұрын
I wouldn't be too concerned. I've only heard a few isolated stories here and there, which isn't hard to believe in a new platform. I wouldn't hesitate to buy one currently

its a nice suv but toyota really messed things up with these 4 cyl turbo bangers theyve thrown into them. i question the long term reliability Dont understand why they just didnt make a really good 6 cycl and stick with it.
@jax1079Ай бұрын
Long term reliability will play out, but if I'm going to bet on a company it would be Toyota. The iForce Max is far superior to the V6 it replaced. Much more power and torque for no gas mileage penalty
