Uncle Larry is great is because he is about life ADD guitar. J O, you are great because you are about guitar ADD life. Andy Wood is great because he is about guitar AND life. How lucky are we to live in a world where we can access this stuff. I wish I had this 34 years ago when I started to learn. God bless you guys for doing this for us!

Great video and tones! I had the same static issue with my tele single layer pickguard and strat with a tri layer guard. Two solutions I found were 1. completely shield the tele pickguard with copper shielding tape grounded to the control plate and cavity also shielded and 2. A few strips of plain old blue 3m painter's tape on the top of the strat pickguard where finger tips could touch the pickguard. It's not pretty and probably wouldn't want to use that on a vintage pickguard but it totally worked and didn't have to open up the guitar and shield it. No more static crackles at all. Again be sure the adhesive won't damage your pickguard. Check with a professional. Thanks so much for this channel and the knowledge you're sharing! Love these delay tones!

Great demo Justin, thank you. I'm thinking of buying 90's DMM for myself, I played on it some weeks ago and was mesmerized by it. Have a great weekend!

I really appreciate your “less is more” approach to arranging and laying down your parts. Music is as much about the silence (the space) as it is about the sound. RE:the DMM … now it’s something unique in a sea of digital sameness so hell yeah use it when the situation calls for it. I still use my 1978 Roland Space Echo.

DMM is the king of delay for a clean / break up tone .. The decay from this big box is something special. What a great product. EHX always ahead of time.

Noise floor dips huge when you have it rewired (internal transformer pulled) for outboard 24V supply. I also run them early in the chain like a tape echo and not like post delay. I also love the preamp. It’s better than a Lightspeed for low gain drive imho. Fattens/thickens/warms.

I was getting significant noise in the repeats with my ‘04 reissue, just pulled the chips out and sprayed the sockets and pots, reseated the chips and it’s way less noisy…

Absolute classic pedal. I had the Clone Theory EHX chorus first version. Awsome pedal which stupid me traded in for a Boss multi fx. Remember the start of the 'digital revolution'? When trade-in Space Echo's, original Shin-Ei UniVibes, A/DA Flangers, Echoplexes, etc. piled up to the ceiling? Very tasteful playing btw sir.

Having a fractal now has made made question how relevant a lot of it is! I get way more compliments on my tone since I've adopted that solution. That said, I'm glad I can now spend more money on guitars and less on effects/amps. :)

It’s always nice arriving at that place where you have at least one aspect of your signal chain or playing figured out. Helps me to focus on other aspects of my thing. Cheers!

Is that pickguard shielded? That would probably get rid of that. Killer tones and great video! I actually dig that clipped preamp sound you got. Not perfect for every application but still killer!

Absolutely love these videos, thank you for making them Justin. Ref. your point about the DMM’s max delay time forcing a fairly high tempo for Streets, I seem to remember that a few of U2 songs played as a dotted 8th (including that one) back then had their overall tempo dictated by the DMM’s delay time. I don’t own a DMM, but I think was somewhere around 126/7bpm, and that was as ‘slow’ as he could get the song tempo whilst still bashing out those dotted 8ths.

For your Pickguard static issue, try lining the back of the whole Pickguard with copper foil tape...should get rid of it completely for ya.

Really tasty parts man love your work. If there’s a way to reduce the level jumps between your commentary and the instrument audio that would be great. I often listen in the car and have to dance w the knob to avoid the speaker blur. First world problems though 😂

Ahh nice Justin. Those old DMMs really do have a sound. So unique. I have a Deluxe Memory Boy which is their cheapo tap tempo delay. It's really pretty good if a little darker and less pretty than an old DMM. The modulation isn't quite a nice either.

My Dad loved his mid 90’s like yours. Left it to me. I use it sometimes on composing cues but could never work it into my live setup because of the low headroom. Almost went for the AnalogMan mod.. Probably won’t.

I sorta preferred the Nordland on before the DMM rather than the clean Son of Kong after. When playing parts, how often do you considered the "words" of the song in what you play (as opposed to just the melody)?

Always. The lyric has a vibe and an emotional direction to it. The band needs to match, support, and enhance that. The lyric in this song is a grown girl basically telling her father he’ll always be her daddy.
