Would like to suggest a video on the effects of radiation therapy, in honor of October’s breast cancer awareness month. It would be helpful for more than those with breast cancer, just thought it could be done in October because of the awareness month. Thanks for considering! God Bless 🙏🏻😇

Great idea. I was blessed with the very best breast cancer physicians and support staff ever at Emory Winship Breast Cancer Institute, Emory University. The nurse educator provided amazing education for skin care during and after radiation. She had recommended full size products from which to choose to prepare my free skin care goody bag. Thanks to the Emory team I had zero skin problems. Yes, the skin was just a bit pink, but no burning, skin thickening or discomfort. Emory's approach for skin protection should be provided to everyone whose treatment requires radiation. Dr. Dray is the perfect one to share her knowledge outside the clinical setting.

Dr. Dray, this video was amazing! My 13-year-old daughter is all into buying new skin care products and serums, as it is the trend with all of her girlfriends. She just bought this one and ever since she has been using it for the past three days she has a horrible acne breakout. She does not have any of the conditions you mention, including rosacea, or dermatitis, just normal skin aside from the breakouts from the random products she keeps trying! Thank you for the information, I took notes, and will be sharing the simplified version of your very technical description. So helpful!

I've been having a terrible time with my eczema lately. Was having a bunch of flares on my eyelids for a few weeks. It'd go away for a day or two or at least lessen, but not fully go away. A few times it was annoying enough that I put some of my prescription steroids/hydrocortisone on my eyelids even though a) not supposed to, b) it effing burns when I do. Found out about this stuff, so decided to try it since it's not crazy expensive and just regular moisturizers were even burning when I would apply to my eyelids. Put this stuff on it a) didn't burn (or at least not very much) b) helped calm that shit down. So I'm definitely a fan of it now.

I’ve used it before my gel cream, and it doesn’t do as well, as if it’s used the way it’s directed too. I have seriously dry skin. If you don’t have dry, dry skin then try how’d you like. The more effort I put into my skin, the worse it gets? Yes ofcourse aging is a factor, and I won't expect to look younger than 5 years ago (although some people really seem to..) I just wanted to target fine lines, big pores and be careful with my rosacea. I use a toner, serum (1 or 2) and moisturizer. I don't combine the wrong products (like acid and retinol never together), and use products when advised (fe no retinol or acids in the AM) and don't overuse. I feel like retinoids and acids have only made my issues worse. My pores got bigger, my face got extremely dry, and I suddenly got some sort of milia/baby acne over my WHOLE face. I use retinoid one night, and a BHA the other night, niacinamide in the morning. This was my routine for about 3 years now. Now I'm trying to only use BHA 1 night/week, and the retinoid one other night/week because I'm scared I just f'ed up my skin with these products. I only barely use makeup, foundation maybe once a month. Does anyone have any tips? All the info and comments everywhere seem to have much better luck than me.

I really wanted to try this, but unfortunately it contains phenoxyethanol which my skin really can’t tolerate. I’ve been so disappointed recently, because every new product that I wanted to try has this now, and I’ve already sort of experimented with products that have it higher and lower on the ingredients list, but no matter what it burns my skin.. 😖

I have heard that, if you first apply a serum that contains phenoxyethanol on the top of your hand and wait for a few seconds - like 20 - most phenoxyethanol evaporates and the product becomes less irritative for sensitive skin. It makes sense to me, and I really want to try this serum with my sensitive and sensitized skin. I am also combo, acne prone, dehydrated, large pores and prone to redness.

@@superXfairXgirl unfortunately, I have tried this, and it really doesn’t work for me. I have a milky toner with Phenoxyethanol and it’s almost last on the ingredients list. I have tried all the things with putting it on my hands and waving them in the air for even a minute or more and I still get a pretty intense burn. When I am really wanting to use the product, I will put on all of my skin care let it dry completely and then use the product containing Phenoxyethanol on top and it seems to bother me less that way. either way I know it passes in a few seconds, so I can deal with it. I just don’t think feeling that intense burn on a daily basis is good for my barrier. It’s a shame because it’s in almost everything geared at barrier repair these days!

@@superXfairXgirl fortunately, I seem to be in the minority. most people even with very very sensitive skin (I really don’t have very sensitive skin generally) seem to tolerate it fine so I’m assuming the portion of the population who reacts to it it’s probably pretty small. I’m just disappointed because I was so excited to try all of these products and now I have to avoid them. 😅

I was so looking forward to the launch of this product for my super sensitive multiply intolerant 63 year old combination skin with tendency towards erythrematotelangiectatic rosacea. I didn't like the initial filmy feel and rubber/vinyl like smell but was willing to put up with that if it kept my skin happy. I got away with it for 2 days (after a patch test), and my face developed unparalleled redness, bumps and burning like fire. It took a month to heal and is now more fractious than ever. I should have heeded my initial reticence at the Ordinary stepping out of their usual uncomplicated m.o. in developing this multi ingredient product. Fail.

Hey Dr. Dray, I have some family members who unfortunately post a lot of EXTREME “crunchy” things like sunscreen is bad, skincare is toxic, etc. Recently I’ve seen lots of posts about people who swear by beef tallow for skincare/moisturizer. I know you’re vegan, and though I’m not it still sounds just really gross. What are your thoughts on people slathering their faces and bodies in need tallow, and claiming it’s anti-aging?

I already use la roche posay cicabaume but it's not enough (since I use prescription tretinoin and vitamin c serum) My skin doesn't tolerate the use of both (noth even on different days let alone pm or am difference) but I would like to use both.
