I believe the lines on the video come from the sun rays hitting the props and reflection in off your lens. That happens with my mavic air. Great video, informative.

Have any idea where to get a battery charger for a decent price? DJI dosent seem to sell them anymore.. I found the car charger and it died after charging one battery to 3 bars.

DJI ultimate fpv app on android works better than litchi! More options like choosing the framerate / resolution of the fpv and also way more Stable as litchi tends to crash on me sometimes. Worth the money! Also, you can turn of the sharpening by setting video sharpness to "soft" en sharpen it the way you like it in post :)

I use my iPhone 11 pro max with my P2 vision plus without issues. The DJI Vision app still works and also Flight Plan for phantom 2 is awesome. Let’s you do waypoints, follow me, POI etc. I bought mine in 2014 and it’s sat in the closet most of its life. I’m the same way. I’m used to helis and racing drones. The phantom makes me nervous! I can’t trust it!! Even still when it’s no longer worth $1000.00

Wile Tysk, which one? Flight plan or DJI vision? They both should work. What’s the issue? Connect phantom to WiFi in settings and launch the vision app. You should see a green light of connected then tap camera. Check if all of the OSD info is active. If no video, and you phantom has been sitting in a closet for a year then your WiFi module flash memory probably croaked and you need to re-flash it. If that’s the case let me know and I’ll show you how to do that.

If everything works except the video feed then you probably need to do the flash reprogramming fix: sites.google.com/view/phantom-2-wifi-module-fix/home That fixed mine. It’s a know issue. If it sits for too long without powering up then the firmware corrupts itself. If it’s the DJI vision app only with the issue the. I’m not sure. Flight plan, vision, and litchi on android all work for me. I have iPhone 11 with latest iOS.

Yes. I have the one for the gopro hero 3+. Still good. Since I'm not a really big drone user this is pretty much perfect I'm more into videography and audio I really spend my money on the glass and rigging out my gear. I bought my Phantom last year off of eBay for about $400 that was everything from the shark wire transmitter the HD gimbal a bunch of accessories and it's good enough and I've only flown it 4 times. I think it's a good investment for someone who's getting into drone flying and kind of get the hang of it. Great review!

@@leonstoltz6088 yeah, I've had my drone for about 2 years now I think on eBay the price has gone down drastically but it still good like I said I haven't flown my drone in 2 months I used mainly cameras I do everything video wise the only time I pull the Drone out is when I'm doing something else and when I really need it that's why I never spent the money on the higher end DJI or yuneec drones. Because for the longest time I was thinking about buying the DJI Maverick but because I don't use the Drone so much I didn't want to waste the money instead end up buying nicer gear like a better glass upgrade a computer. So in words the DJI Phantom 2 with the GoPro Hero 4 is totally worth it especially if you're just using it for minor stuff but I've seen some real beautiful Epic movie like shots with that drone with the GoPro 8 cuz someone modded it. My only biggest complaint is because it's old you have to download the drivers from another website cuz they're outdated out dated other then that It's a great drone.

Honestly these days it would be a better investment to get something like a Mavic Mini that would give you a much higher quality and an incredibly easier flying experience. When I went from the Phantom 2 to the Phantom 4 I nearly cried. And the Mavic Mini is so small and light it can be flown ANYWHERE LEGALLY. Which is incredibly important for both pro pilots and beginners alike. My knowledge is limited of how to help you move forward because my experience with my phantom two was rather short lived. I upgraded fairly quickly because I wanted to use mine for business purposes and even went for my Part 107 to be legal. I know the expense is intense, but the experience on the other side is very rewarding. If you stick with your drone it sounds like you have most of what you would need to fly, just pair it up with litchi or the old dji app for phantom 2 and just give it your best shot. But after switching myself, selling off my phantom 2 and saving a little to upgrade. Its the best move I could have done. Hope that helps and inspires!

I just purchased a used PH2 for $200. From the git go trying to figure out which DJI software to download to my Android phone is a pain in the ass. There are a number of choices. There is a software for drones since P4 which mine is obviously not. Then for Before P4, which mine is. But then there is DJI Fly, DJI Mimo, DJI Go for before P4, DJI Pilot, DJI Vision, and so as I said, I’m pretty confused. This is my first drone so I’m sure I will be more nervous than you were in this video but there just does not seem to be any videos that really start from the basics, with an older drone. I could use some help.

Completely understandable... So I personally liked an app called "Litchi" when I was flying the phantom 2. The other app that was made by DJI for the P2 was called DJI Vision. But thats only if you have the Vision + P2 model. See if that points you in the right direction. I would suggest jumping to Litchi though because it has a lot more capability including way-points and missions that make it MUCH more fun. Good luck and welcome to the world of drones!

One other question/comment. I have an Android phone and an Android Tablet. The tablet is not network compatible but I can turn on Hotspot on my phone and link the tablet. I’m assuming that for all of the features of an app to work, it needs network connection so would this setup work. There reason I want to use my table is I’ve seen a lot of neg comments regarding Litchi and several other apps regarding it being difficult to see/read on a small screen like a phone. thanks again.

It is the props showing up on the video. A common thing on quads. I plan shots like this when I want to make absolutely sure to not see the lines. I will back away while shooting video. This will keep the props out of the picture since the quad is tilted away from the subject. The video can always be reversed if needed.

I bought 4 and had the same result. Mainly because each cell isnt "balanced". Unless you buy directly from DJI its most likely that the batteries wont be balanced charged properly. :0/

Yes it is. 2020 I still use it. I more video/audio person . So I don't feel like spending 900 or 2000 hundred dollars for the Maverick or the other drones. The phantom 2 is perfect for what I'm doing. I just use my creativity and everything else and editing to. Cool channel 🤘😎

The "remedy" was getting a phantom 4 at a discounted price. I did make a video on that. But the "solution" was simply upgrading to a phantom 4. Sorry for the false advertising there. But if your willing to spend $300 on a phantom 2 plus, itd be better to put aside an extra $100-$200 and get the Phantom 4.

But to be fair the P2 are pretty rare here. Usually just P3 &P4 and in fact I thought I was buying a P3 instead of the P2 Vision + but that’s another story. You have to use the Vision Plus app for the phantom 2. But it has to be the phantom 2 vision plus. If you didnt get that phantom with the vision plus package then you will need to just get a gopro and use the gopro app to see from the view of the drone. The other app I used was LICHI, but I had to have an android phone to use the Litchi app. Excellent app.
