I love using it. I use it for games that I can zone out before bed or just kick back for a bit while the fam watches their shows. Im lucky enough to have great upload/download speeds so i don’t have to deal with dips in input or sudden disconnects. Do you need this? No. Is it worth the price? No. But as an early adopter, I knew what I was getting into when I made the purchase and it has suited that need to perfection 👌🏽

It works away from home if you have a decent WiFi connection on both ends. I played while staying with my mother in OR, while my PS was in CO in rest mode.

The problem with this is that use network only, they should have made this thing connect directly to the console without a network for those who want to use it at home only.

I knew what it was before i got it. The person at gamestop told me " im telling you man. It aint what its hyped up to be! " I tried explaining to him that i know what it is and what im getting. I actually like it. Wifi is the main thing. My router is wayyy on the other side of my home downstairs. I had some connection issues. But i started playing it in the room right above where my router is. And man its pretty good. Not long after i got it they added an update that lets you connect to wifi in public places too

Look for a WiFi Extender for your home. It makes a huge difference. Amazon sells them around $25.

Is there any point to change your resolution from 1440p to 1080p? I read mixed opinions, just curious if that really changes anything, cause Portal will project the image in 1080p regardless Got my Portal last week, and as much as I love aesthetics and ergonomics of the device itself - stuttering every 5-6 seondz drives me insane. I’ve tried most of the known tricks, connected console to the router via cable with stable 500 mbps download & 80 mbps upload speed and it still stutters like crazy. At the same time running PS Remote through my Ipad works flawlessly😂

I bought my ps portal a couple months ago after the newest update it has less lag & less disconnects from my wifi I absolutely love it even more I was gaming with it I was on assassin’s creed odyssey.🥂😎

My home have 50mbps downloand and 15 mbps upload and i will connection my ps5 to wifi with cable.. FIRST ONE its enough for gaming? And i can play with my ps portal in outside or another houses or public , thanks of the with new updates?

I think this thing gets a lot of hate even though it's an accessory not a full flag ship console. I love using this thing when away from the TV. Yes you can do the same thing with a phone, tablet, computer, and other handhelds but for more of a higher price. Another thing I want to point out its the one of the few handhelds sold in stores (Best Buy, Walmart, target, etc). The only competitor sold in stores that is also a streaming handheld is the G Cloud Logitech. And that thing is sold for $299. For the price you get, I honestly don't think it's that bad of a bargain.

What a coincidence I just think why there haven't been your video today and pam Mr. Robot Jo uploaded a new video about of PlayStation Portal (Portable Handheld) what was revealved and relased in last year's fall 2023 when I only hoped to see PlayStation handheld like PS Vita or PSP, but we get PlayStation Portable handheld what you can connect with PS5 and even PS4 too then many people were dissapointned, but I was thinking: hmm that's interesting idea like Sony's version of Wii U, but on PS5 a handheld console what you can connect with PlayStation, but can't go too far away from your PS5 or PS4 that I have PS5 I like the idea, but the design and the price defienitily the price are the BIGGEST problems for me to buy PlayStation Portal, but since it's launch I've been wanted to get PlayStation Portal because I LOVE to play as a handheld mode and that's my reason why Nintendo DS, 3DS, Wii U and defienitily Switch have been my the most played consoles of all time so I will buy PlayStation Portal soon as possible still in 2024, but I really hope Sony to make PSP or PS Vita 2 that would be AWESOME, but i'm fine with PlayStation Portal the best handheld after Switch! 💙

You can go wherever has internet just leave your PS5 in rest mode and you can connect to it, the only networks you might have issues with are those that have the login pages, I connect to my phones hot spot and am able to play

The lag of the game isnt related to the portal itself, the lag you could experience will always be directly from the console to the portal

Not recommend FPS games and I noticed atleast with me that there’s a small delay, after I disconnect the HDMI it helps a bit with the small delay

the trick is to have your playstation connected to your lan cord and then you use the wifi it helps the portable wayyy better by not having the ps5 and the portable pulling from the same wifi

I have the portal and it works great (as long as you have good WiFi or hardwired connection to your PS5. Also looking forward to play College Football ‘25 on the portal 🏈
