More information on the cable would have been nice. Is it reinforced kevlar? is it robust and wirey or thin and stringy? Does it have a rigidity about it? Does it snag and crunch up into an unmanageable crow's nest or does it keep its form when packed away? What's the handling noise like? Is it well 'screened'. All of these things are as important as the sound quality. If it breaks easily or has uncontrollable handling noise the sound quality means nothing.

iPhoneographers are you saying that the SmartLav+ mic is the same as the Lavalier Go in terms of audio quality? So the only difference would be TRRS vs TRS? I saw your other reply and would love a comparison between the two. It seems like the SmartLav+ sounds worse judging from other videos.

Dam I'm getting so much noise with my lavalier go and wireless go. seems to be the case no matter what I do. I've plugged it the wireless go transmitter in my apollo twin interface with a 1/8 to XLR recording into logic pro x, I've recorded into a my zoom h5 with the same cable and also with a 1/8 to 1/8 cable and that one actually gives me the most noise. Any suggestions?

Hi. I was watching your review. I like the mic as well, but I am using it in a church setting and it picks up a lot of room echo because of its sensitivity. Am I doing something wrong or is it just that sensitive? I set the rode wireless go to lowest db and am recording into a Zoom h4n Pro. Thanks for any advice you may have.
@iphoneographers
@iphoneographers 4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like it’s just the room you’re in. Most likely any mic would do that. Reflective walls or floors are always a problem. So get the mic as close to the person as possible and then ideally be in a room that has carpet. Have also noticed if you’re sitting near a table or anything that will bounce the audio that can cause a boxy sound.
