It's a shame that Ruger has to step up and give people what they've wanted from Glock all along. I like Glock, but they spit in their customers face with their unwillingness to listen to feedback. They are still sending guns out with plastic sights, and are charging too much for a pistol that's outdated. At this point I won't ever buy another Glock. I'm happy to see Ruger make an honest attempt to fix all of Glock's short comings.

Honestly, the rxm just feels like this is what should have been the Gen 5. It more or less addresses every complaint people have had about the platform for years, and it's coming from a company that also values durability and reliability over gimmicky features. Whether or not it will succeed is entirely up to if the people who like Glock are more in love with the brand name or the platform itself, but pistol to pistol I think the rxm is at minimum just as good

@1jimmarch6 күн бұрын
Both have steel rails front and rear. On the Glock the two sets of rails front and rear are connected by plastic. On the rxm they are literally the same piece of steel front and rear. That's got to add to stability and rigidity. Magpul is selling replacement grip frames right now for 40 bucks a pop. That means you can buy one, keep the stock one and play with whatever mods to stippling or length or whatever you want with no risk to the core gun. The gun the rxm really compares with in my opinion is the Springfield echelon, especially the new 4-in barrel 15 shot echelon. Both have an internal metal frame, both have an advanced optic mount system. The echelon is about 200 bucks more or a bit over comparing street prices on GunBroker for example, and is likely to shoot tighter groups. HS Produkt put some very good barrels into the echelon. But for about 200 bucks you should be able to bump the Ruger barrel up in quality to roughly match. And once you do that, you now have a much more flexible platform supported by both Ruger and Magpul, both legit companies. Magpul is promising more grip frames in various sizes, apparently in both G26-oid and G19x-oid by the second quarter of 2025. I think Ruger has a winner on their hands here. Magpul has an opportunity to be an ergonomics consultant for additional gun companies down the road. Or, they might do a long-term partnership with Ruger the same way Carroll Shelby did with Ford, becoming Ford's high-performance specialty shop.
@kenandbarbie-b6c6 күн бұрын
Upgrading a Glock may affect its reliability. You have to test it because the 40 years of testing didn’t include your modification. With the Ruger, many of the most requested modifications are stock & have already been tested.

The Gen 5 Glock 19 (with front serrations and without the mag well scoop) has a small curved relief cut at the slide breech face (opposite the extractor) to improve ejection. Can you check to see if the RXM has this feature or not?
@tonynorris15066 күн бұрын
It probably doesn't need that additional cut, apparently it's only on the latest 19 (MOS) to FINALLY help remedy the BTF issues caused by the poor extractor design that Glock has refused to update after changing it to an MIM part with different specs nearly 15yrs ago... I saw a video up close and the crazy ejection is because of how loose the extractor grabs the casing, and the area behind the casing has a hump in the center behind the empty casing can tilt in a 360 manner when (loosely) held by the extractor , hence why it never hits the ejector the same way twice in a row when ejecting... I think they stick with the design because the loose tolerances are one reason why the GLK can function when filthy, similar to how AKs also have loose tolerances and have the same reputation.... I've also heard of the extractors chipping on the edge easily and it being important to inspect for microchips when cleaning... Usually the BTF issue either happens right away, or starts at a certain round count... To this day GLK just claims that it's due to "limp wristing" and only making new ejector designs as a band-aid fix.

I own 12 Glocks to include uber Super clones and "poverty" builds in gen3-4-and 5. They include Shadow Systems, Lone Wolf, Nomad, SCT, PSA Dagger. All my gen3-5 slides are 100% compatible to gen4-5 slides with only 1 6 dollar modification (replacement of slide plate to wider channel oem gen 5's. I have shot thousands of rounds with no issues encountered. The trigger enhancement on plungers operate with no issues as long as you use OEM disconnector (1 dot connectors) lets face it all oem triggers are spongy and require 5-7 lbs of pull. The "performance trigger" is a little different and the inerta reset has been greatly reduced. The Timney trigger is also pretty good both MSRP'S range from 75-112 bucks. I dropped tested all my guns with 9mm blanks and a padded gym mat. I learned not to mess (replace the firing pin spring and or firing fin safety spring. it is tempting with unexpected results. With oem triggers, and a plethora of aftermarket parts the fpss and fps the creep and pull are greatly reduced. When you start messing with different trigger shoes such as the Orange County trigger "overtravel eliminator" work as advertised. I recommend them. The LWD ultimate adjustable trigger is also perfect for drop in awesome just read all instructions and take heed when to modify the slide internal. My next and last frame will be a ZRO Delta alloy , modular frame with serialed chassis. You can modify your build from a g19 to g45, g47, g49, g17 and g34 in 1 frame !!!!!. That should become the Glock gen 6 frame. 2 other companies attemped this concept, Live free Armory Amp and ZEv oz9.

The stock gen 3 trigger doesn’t have the creep of RXM, it has a hard wall (no movement) and a much shorter more tactile reset. You’re right back at the wall with no movement before the crisp break. I actually prefer the gen 3 trigger over the gen 5 trigger.
@eosjoe5657 күн бұрын
One area in which I feel the RXM trigger is superior to the Glock is on the RXM the little lever that protrudes from the trigger goes flush with the trigger face when you press it with your finger. On every Glock that I have the trigger safety lever is narrower and does not quite go flush with the trigger face. The result is you have this little narrow blade that tends to irritate your trigger finger after a you shoot a few mags worth.

I think we as gun owners have gotten into the weeds on this issue. We’re so spoiled now with all these different models and features thinking that forward slide cuts and different grip textures and magazine release buttons and after market triggers are gonna make you a better shooter. How much more can we do to these relatively simple machines. The only thing that’s important is my gun going bang every time I pull the trigger and having a good degree of mechanical accuracy. Glock does this arguably better than any of them. But we’re always ready to jump on the latest thing. All this is is Rugers copy of a Glock 19 with some different cosmetic features. Like most of these new polymer guns. I never heard of anyone winning a gun fight because they had forward slide cuts on there gun for example. How much more “ innovation “ do we need?
