My machine is paid for and I am bursting at the seams to get it. I grew up with the Sega Genesis and recieved mine in 1989. I had an Nes and Master System before the Genesis and while I was a gamer, I was very casual... That is until I saw the Genesis at a friends home for the first time. He was playing Ghouls n' Ghosts and I could not believe my eyes. It looked so close to the arcade I was simply floored. The sound blew my mind, never had we heard sound like that from a home console. Now...I have every mini console that has hit the US market to date. The NES, SNES, and Neo Geo mini's look fantastic on a 4K TV. The PSX does not look good on any screen, unless you jail break it and fix it yourself. I'm curious how the Genesis and TG-16 mini's look on a 4K screen. I will say this about my screens- they are all high end 4K sets that, and they believe it or not, make all of my retro machines look good. I know many 4K sets do a number on retro machines that make them look terrible...not ours. I play Samurai Showdown 2 on an original Neo Geo AES in 4K and the colors quite literally jump off the screen.

At 5:35 when Sonic hits that Spring, on the original hardware he goes faster than the "camera" and almost vanishes from the screen. Also, the shield looks different. I'm not complaining, mine is already preordered, but there's nothing like the real thing = )

Mega Man the Wily Wars was not released on the Wii VC. It was actually released on the Sega Channel in the US. so technically it was on the Genesis platform here, just not in physical form. Only Japan and Europe

I've played both Japanese and UK versions of megaman wily wars. Watching through rgs playthru. It's definitely the 60hz version running. I could tell by the speed of the bgm running through the background as its a lot slower on the pal uk release

Darius sounds almost like the arcade version! For your knowledge FM synth sound chips were a common type of sound hardware in the 80's and 90's. Basically every arcade and japanese home computers (also IBM PCs) used those Yamaha sound chips and the Sega Genesis too. Just listen the arcade soundtrack of Darius and compare it to the Genesis one and you will notice how close they are.

Sega needs to release an arcade stick that plugs into a TV (something like Capcom is planning to do) containing TONS of Sega arcade games like Golden Axe: Revenge of Death Adder, Virtua Fighter 2, The Sega-Sonic arcade game, Hang-on, Shinobi, Sonic the Fighters, Daytona U.S.A, Planet Harriers, Out Run, House of the Dead, and MORE games built into the arcade stick. Then have an optional racing wheel and light gun you can plug into the arcade stick to play certain games.

8:13 There's nothing weird about this Genesis port of Darius not being released back then because IT DIDN'T EXIST for the Genesis until NOW. If you did any kind of research on this game, you would know this is NOT an unreleased game getting released (e.g. Star Fox 2), but a brand new Genesis port made in 2018 with the intent of putting it on this mini system.

Actually did real time testing with the original and the mini side by side on my tv and i can tell you that the music is spot on mabye just a notc chrisper idk also for a european the main key difference is that the original runs at 50hz while mini runs in 60hz. Mabye i should release a video on it

I wish revenge of Shinobi was included. They never include it either on their previous releases. It also has the best ending out of all of the other Shinobi games.

My hopes are that the Mega Drive Mini is gonna be a bestseller and brings Sega to a point to do a new release of a Saturn and Dreamcast >_< they HAVE TO. I just love that lots of important titles are included on Sega's little 16bit retro console. Including Space Harrier II and Columns. Meanwhile there was NO Tetris on the NES mini xD

Darius look a lot like Konami's Gradius for the NES.

Darius was an arcade hit because it used 3 side-by-side television screens for a widescreen experience (think of the 6-player X-men arcade game, but wider). It was hard to ignore that beast when you saw it in the arcade. It was stunning in the 80s, but it does not transfer well to a single screen experience. It's an average run of the mill shooter at best.

Saturn is not going to happen at any real point right now, no one has managed to get a fully functional Saturn emulator out in all this time. That systems chipset was a nightmare.

Yeah itd be nice to play 32x games with a genesis controller instead of my snes classic. The hack scene is pretty exciting for all these mini consoles.

The only mini console I own is the snes, I wasnt using my nes classic after I got my snes classic do I did the hack on it and gave it to my nephews. They seem to really enjoy it, it's cool to see younger generations play and enjoy retro games.

@@BruceWayne-mh2qf It was on the Ps2, GC, DS, Ps3, XB360 & it's on the recent SEGA collection but only on PC for some reason. I don't think it's licensing. Seems like a recent choice to exclude it from consoles.

If it is because of the music then they should just redo the music with new original music. Yeah, it wouldn't be the same as we remembered, but at least then the game itself can still be included.

I think it’s AWESOME how the menu sound effects are from Streets of Rage 2...my favorite Genesis game!!!
