Great video sir! What’s the difference in plugging into rodecaster vs shooting on the fly with the XLR/ 3.5 mm direct in camera with the battery. Is there a big difference in sound quality. I have the rodecaster, but want to film right out the camera. Thanks

Ayyye 🙏🏾 Preciate u checking out the video. I like using the Rode caster for audio because of the 32bit float and preamps. I plugged into my camera and audio sounds good. Either way is good.

This is my microphone of choice! Always clutch , always fantastic professional low noise sound. My audio always records to both channels so that is unusual to hear audio coming from only one side. People may need to check their audio settings more deeply to find the source of their issue.

Sending to signal to the left channel is not a mic issue. All mics input mono signals but those specifically designed for stereo output.Such mics have 2 cables to run into 2 channels. So the issue is a configuration issue in the daw.

Hello sir, I have a question: I want to use this mic to record stereo sound on zoom h6, do I need a splitter xlr cable to plug into both 3&4 inputs, or a regular xlr cable into one input is enough?

@@tianyuliu2512 Regular cable is enough. You can't get stereo recording from a mic unless it's specifically a stereo mic like the MKH 418-S.

Yes it is. I use this mic in a untreated room. I haven't tried diagram mics. Dynamic mics are good for rooms not treated as well.

HI and thanks for the video! Is it necessary to insert the AA battery when using with a dslr camera via the 3.5 mm headphone jack? (Also, in which case you use the se battery?). Bests regards from a Venezuelan viewer in Panama!

Ayyye 🙏🏾 Preciate u checking out the video. Yes if you are using the mic with a DSLR you need a AA battery. I only use the batteries when I'm filming away from home/outside. Hope you stay safe in Panama. 👊🏾

@@Hollaturboi I am trying to put together a small rig, you know, low budget, and as sound is king specially in verite I was thinking on Rode VideoMic NTG and the Sennhiser MKE 600 and even though the MKE 600 is about $100 more, I think it is worth the price. I am not the kind of person that cries for missing features I do not strictly need and I have no problems with some workarounds I am leaning towards the MKE because having XLR is a nice feature for me to be future proof and the battery is user swap able, but that’s just me, what are your thoughts? From here it is a little bit hard to buy something since returning something it so expensive and cumbersome and there is almost no one to talk to via phone to clear doubts that we have to watch thousands of videos lol

@kakegarcia8056 oh no no no Rode video mic.... Meh I would lean towards the MKE 600. The XLR function is the way to go. I wanted the MKH50 but that thing is over $1000 so that's out of my budget for a mic.
