If anyone can do it, it's these oilers. They should have taken game 1, but bobrovsky pulled a miracle for his team. Since he got cracked wide open in game 4, I think the oilers have a great chance at becoming the 2nd team to come back from a 3 to 0 deficit in the finals. The panthers have seemed like the underdog after that beat down

Agreed. (not to correct you but I just leaned all about the “down 3-0 Stanley cup stats” in the NHL) Here goes: It’s happened 9 times in the history of the NHL. Of those 9 times, the team that was up 3-0 won in game 7 exactly 5 times. The other 4 were reverse sweeps where the team that was down 3-0 won all 4 remaining games. So it’s happened only 4 times in the history of the NHL. Go Oilers :)

I've said that if the Stars start scoring, the depth and PK stayed hot, and the powerplay started to click. The Oilers would pull off 4 straight wins. They've gotten two wins. Almost all the boxes needed to be ticked were, except for Draisaitl scoring. If Draisaitl comes up with a big game 6, i really dont see a way forward for Panthers in a game 7.

it would be dangerous to underestimate florida. they didn't get to the finals 2 years in a row by fluke. they are still the same team that dismantled edmonton the first 3 games.

Florida arguably dismantled Edmonton in game 2. Bob stole game 1. Game 3 was tight, but Skinner wasn't great, and Bob started to crack. But the first 3 games could easily have been 2-1 for either team. Edit - But I agree Florida is a great team, and not to be underestimated. I'm just saying that the first 3 games (and certainly the first 5) should have the Oilers confident, rather than worried.

I hope the Oilers will become the first post-1990s non-Habs Canadian team to hoist a Stanley Cup. As much as I respect the Habs for the Cups they’ve won over the years, whether before or since 1967, I believe that because no non-Habs Canadian team has won even as many post-1967 Cups as the Habs, the time has come for the Oilers to win that Cup as they have the opportunity to do so this month. Whether game 6 will mean a 3-3 series tie is TBD because even if Sergei Bobrovsky doesn’t have the best game, the Oilers’ defence, bar game 4, have been great, with 3 or more goals allowed in each of the others. Perhaps game 6 will be more like game 4 but still considering how the series has gone, pretty much anything goes for, regardless of how tonight‘s game goes, what will no doubt be the Oilers’ last home game before preseason play starts up in September. Shortly after the 6:00 mark SportsCentre flips to ex-Oiler d-man Steve Staios, GM of the Sens, and what the Sens should do about their goaltending. It's not so clear what the Sens will do about Joonas Korpisalo, with: - his contract set to end in June 2028 - Anton Forsberg and, via the Belleville Sens of the AHL, Leevi Merilainen signed to the end of June 2025 - Kevin Mandolese and Mads Sogaard pending restricted free agents, with: -- Mando able to exercise arbitration rights should the Sens give him a qualifying offer -- Sogaard not having arbitration rights or 10.2(c) status

I’d like to believe the Oilers will on this Friday Eastern Time extend this Cup final to a seventh and deciding game. Considering that in only one game, the fourth one, have the Oilers allowed under three goals, and that in the last game, they let the Panthers almost tie things up after having gone up 4-1 (with that most-recent game having been at one point 4-3 Oilers before McDavid would score an empty goal very late in that game to make it 5-3), I’d say that pretty much anything goes for tonight‘s game over at Rogers Place in Edmonton.
