I’m a Toyota fanboy and I’d still pick the Ranger Raptor over the TRD Pro or Trailhunter. The iso-dynamic seats should really be an option rather than standard, I think you’ll see far more Trailhunters just for that reason. Having front and rear lockers available in 4hi, adjustable suspension from the seat, usable rear seats, more power and 4auto on the Ranger Raptor are huge selling points. AND you can get a tune from Ford for even more power under warranty!

Really enjoy y’all’s reviews. I have owned Fords and Toyotas and have had good experiences with both. I have had my eye on the new Tacoma for a long time but ended up getting a Ranger Raptor. Money aside, there are a lot of small things but what swayed me was the TRD seats, no go. On the other hand, the RR is one of the best vehicles I have ever owned and I have had them all. Only thing on the RR is the lack of real buttons for lockers and heated seats.

Congrats on the Ranger Raptor bought mine 4 months ago and love it, so much fun to drive and it is (Scary Fast) for a gas burning mid-size 4x4 truck quickest and fastest truck I have ever owned by far. It is pretty easy and quick to engage the lockers there is a big button on the center console in front of the gear shifter it has a landscape picture on it of hills and a cactus. Press that button then instantly lockers pop up on the main screen, only takes about a second to engage.✌

Cool truck but I’m not spending $67k, plus dealer mark ups, for a mid size truck. I’ll take the Ranger Raptor for $10k less, which is arguably a more capable truck!

I wasn't aware of Lasfit mats...until today. Those provide better coverage than Weathertech, and would be terrific for our Michigan winter slop! Getting coverage on the door sills is huge. Thanks for sharing.
@layne43763 күн бұрын
The Ranger Raptor is significantly quicker, handles better on and off road, can fit humans in the back seats, and has more tech include auto 4WD which is ideal in the winter on road. It is also less expensive than the Pro.

I wish it was competitive price wise, doesn't matter what goodies the TRD Pro has, its not worth $12k more than Ranger Raptor

I bought my 2019 TRD off road for $36k new, but I can’t justify spending 50k for the current model and 60k is absurd for the pro model. I hear a lot of people are picking up the Nissan Frontier as it is similar to the 3rd gen. Hopefully the market can give a little push back so these car companies can come down in price.
@atg13382 күн бұрын
Absurd is trying to compare prices from a vehicle that's 5 yrs old. Old tech and old drivetrain is gonna cost less duh. Not to mention pre pandemic prices duh.
@amped6022 күн бұрын
@ now that you got that out of your system let’s talk about sells of this vehicle. It’s taken a dip and they are saying build quality is not as good as last gen, oh and dealers are having to give discounts because no one is really purchasing it. I get the whole inflation thing but wages have pretty much remain the same. I’m old school, old tech to me is more desirable vs new tech. Look at how many issues these new vehicles are having, it’s too much tech!!
@monocogenit12 күн бұрын
@@atg1338 Not really. maybe if he was comparing a car from 20-30 years ago, sure. but 5 years isn't that long ago, to be nearly 100% more expensive is kinda nuts. guy has a valid point. In just the past few years car/truck prices have increased significantly.
@amped6022 күн бұрын
@@monocogenit1 exactly! I take my truck off roading and it’s been pretty solid for the most part. I get the more tech but “more tech” and off roading don’t mix and that is why the 3rd gen is desirable because it had outdated tech even when it came out. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to notice a shift in the car scene with people, avoiding techie stuff and going back to more analog feel, you can even see it in sports cars.

I kind of understand why Toyota didn’t put front locker on TRD Pro, Trailhunter and TRD Off Road because of their A-Trac and front sway bar disconnect systems are as good as front locker or better already. However, I wish they have auto 4wheel.

Toyota really should give people an option to save a few thousand by offering standard power seats in lieu of the dynamic seats. Most people are not using the truck for high-speed off-road driving and the dynamic seats just kill the use of the back seats. At least with the standard seats the rear seats can be used by kids, pets, or a couple friends.

All that you have to do is watch the edmunds review dirt comparison, the Ranger Raptor smoked the Tacoma TRD Pro and the Colorado ZR2, but giving credit where credit is due the Tacoma TRD Pro did smoke the Colorado ZR2.
@showmemorefunthings92083 күн бұрын
I'll have to rewatch that video, I don't remember the Tacoma smoking the ZR2. I'm pretty sure they mentioned the ZR2 rides better than Tacoma but maybe that was the Bison and not the standard ZR2. All three are nice trucks but it does seem the Ranger offers more for the MRSP price. I just haven't seen any for sale at MSRP. For that matter I haven't seen any TRD Pros at MSRP either. Both have been marked up considerably. Bison and the stock ZR2 seem to be the only model at MSRP or even discounted.
