Is the Twin Turbo C8 DOOMED?

There is a seal on the oil fill tube that has blown out on every turbo corvette that I have every worked on and it dumps oil exactly how yours is. It is a very simple fix and only takes about 20 minutes to do so !!!

I'm glad that you got your C8 back but sorry to hear that leak. My 2022 C8 from you got more than 12,000 miles now and no major issues so far except for that I hit a guardrail in PittRace a couple of weeks ago. Keep up the great work! I hope that the leak can be fixed soon.

I would say, with the way pressure was coming out of the dipstick. You might have a bad PCV valve so crank case pressure is too high and blew out the rear main seal.

its the rear main seal leaking..its from the boost pressurizing the crankcase to much and blew out seal...need to vent the crankcase and replace rear main.

I remember once when gas prices had soared I was at the pumps fueling my Tacoma when a fella driving a H1 Hummer pulled up to the diesel pump across from me and began fueling his giant vehicle. We exchanged pleasantries and I asked him what kind of fuel mileage he was getting and his reply was priceless “I never think about it. If a person can afford to buy a Hummer, they can afford to drive a Hummer” So, If you can afford to buy a C1 Corvette, I’m sure you can afford to maintain a C1 Corvette.

If it leaks more when running, it is probably a rear main seal or something oil pressure fed, especially with the variable oil pump (more load and RPM, more pressure). It may be as simple as a leaking oil pressure sensor. Not sure where they are located on a new LT motor.

Brother you already didn’t have the car for what a year, what’s a couple more months. Your best bet is send it out to CSP have him drop the engine and trans, go through it with a fine tooth comb. This way he can fix/replace whatever is wrong and you will have a brand new car.

@chevydude since you are already in there, do a once over around the turbos, wastegates and piping just to ensure your turbos are healthy as well. If they leak oil, it will spill through the inside of the intake piping and everywhere else if those are loose as well. God knows what was done to it with second ownership and it clearly shows with the loose clamp. Best of luck!

Probably not a good idea to keep driving it especially if you are ripping it with that much of a oil leak. Last thing you want to do is starve the engine of oil and then seeing metal shavings bc of it

Wow! How could that guy you bought the car from trash it so bad? Some people don't deserve nice things. I still have my 1989 Honda CRX HF with over 377,000 miles on the odometer. I am not a mechanic and perform all routine maintenance myself. It has no leaks at all and the air condition still blows 40 degrees through the middle vents. Then again, I don't abuse my things.

I’m not convinced that your issues were all created by the previous owner. You did heavily modify a first model year addition C8 with a prototype twin turbo system. If I wasn’t seeking views and really wanted the car fixed correctly I would ship it back to the original builder and have it sorted out…..
