If these people spent less time making excuses for personal failure, and more effort contributing and integrating, their lives would be far more fulfilled. Alternatively, try your ancestral nations hospitality.

Excuse me, we are not racist, we are proud of our country, our traditions and our history. People who come here and expect it to be like foreign lands and expect us to change , you will feel like you don't fit in. We don't care what colour you are, if you love England you will find most people are welcoming, but don't try to make us feel guilty for being white and English.

This is what you Brits do when you go abroad - expect people to speak English and set up pubs and fish and chip shops. I've been to 30 countries - I've seen how Brits behave abroad - either it's drunk and nasty, or insulated and not integrating with the locals

Some racist people exist but in general i don't find GB a racist place. I am a mixed race person from South Asian, British and West Indian backgrounds. And i have personally had people of various races be racist to me. Mostly verbal but some were physical altercations. This POC can't be racist is totally just BS. Myself I am like a minority even within the wider minority groups.

Very insightful video. There are a lot of things to be unpacked and discussed. Some in the comments have already addressed them. One thing that stood out to me was the young woman who, at 4:14 stated that one can not understand certain experiences unless one is part of a particular group. I think she is correct in saying that some people can not identify with the experiences of others. However, at 7:56, she started commenting on the white experience as if she herself has experienced it. I agree with her original point, but I think it is problematic that she doesn't uphold the same point once we change the context. But what do I know, I'm a white dude. Unless I don't identify as the problem, I'm racist. if you'll excuse me, now I'll go look for this privilege people have talked about so much.

There is institutional racism in the UK, why is that so difficult to understand!? But not for people of colour! Diversity and inclusion hiring practices mean that people of colour take precedence rather than hiring based on merit! I’ve seen it many times, and even had it happen in my Job where opportunities have only been given to people of colour. This is actual institutional racism, it’s not the covert type that these people talk about based on their opinion of why they didn’t get a job! When’s the last time anyone of colour had a best selling book promoted and pushed in to a school curriculum that states they’re all racist and need constant reeducation…Never! But, that’s what happened when “why I don’t talk to white people about race”or “white fragility” was released. Imagine being told constantly that you’re evil and inherently racist based purely on the colour of your skin!

100% I’m an artist and I paint portraits. A was commissioned to paint musicians by a well known record label a few years ago. I was asked to paint a well known black musician, but when the family of the musician found out that I was a white guy, they retracted they approval and said we would work with him if he was a POC, but as he’s white we won’t. When I was told this, I said ‘oh ok fair enough’ because if I had made a fuss I would have been labelled a racist and I would have lost other work. I’m still bitter and annoyed, years later…

Just this week a Jewish man was arrested in London just for being Jewish. We know racism exists in the UK, but it’s not from the Anglo Saxon brits.
@HowDeepIsYourJesus6 ай бұрын
What a load of crap 😂 the guy wasn't arrested and it was nothing to do with him being Jewish - it was because he was antagonising a peaceful protest. The police have the right to make arrests in order to keep the peace. Also come off it, there are plenty of racist "Anglo Saxons" - to pretend otherwise is to deny reality.

From personal experience over 40 years, I'd say 30-40% of Brits are racist. But a lot of it is hidden just under the surface of fake politeness. About 10-15% of Brits express racism more openly.

Is the UK racist? Yes and No, there are elements of racism across every single country on earth especially countries of majority white natives, but with regards to the UK race isn't as big of a blocker as it is in the US and France, but it still exists and is still a big part of society this also depends on what part of the UK you are in.
